To be a furrie
« on: January 19, 2004, 10:26:14 pm »
Im new to furridom but I feel this is exactly right that there is nothing wrong with it. Let me explain how I came to furridom. The first instance was random I didnt think of it until later anyway I was browsing looking for sims cheats online and when i found this great site i explored it and found it to be a page mainly about furries. I thought "oh well thats cool" and left it at that. Then one day on a teen pagan chat board (I am 15, wiccan) I saw a thing for OhMyGods a webcomic. one thing led to another and I am now the only one at my school (where we all have laptops and wireless internet required) who freaks out when the internets down because I cant read all 7 of my comics.  Anyway one of my comics is about anthro/furries. and one of them actually is what brought me to this site. I have been trying to find a place to host My own webcomic and so i went to the domain of all my comics (one being psycindom its listed under noogle in the art section) and suprise suprise I find the one webhost Im eligible for without looking for it specifically i plan to put my webcomic on the site within a few days so watch for A Cat Out Of Water

Anyway What Im saying is that I dont really know all that much about furridom i just know the one aspect of an online personality and Im wondering how do you for lack of a better term Furrie

Rosewind,

As you go through the site, I think you will find that there are many ways that people/furries express themselves.  Not all furries even have a fursona (online personality).

Many furries enjoy to roleplay online through MUCKs like FurryMuck, Tapestries and Furcadia.  You can either role play as your fursona or develop many different characters to play as.  I can be found on Tapestries and Furcadia every once in a while.

Many express their furry side through art like the webcomic you are creating and writing.  I draw and write a little myself as well.

In real life you have furry conventions and gatherings for socializing.  Some people will wear ears and a tail at times, which is not something that I do.  I have some furry art on my computer at work, but that is one of the only visible displays of my furriness that is publicly viewable.

if you wanna tell someone what being a furry means to you, just describe whatever feelings you have when you either talk to other furries or think about anthros or something like that. if it is unexplainable (eg - words can't describe the joy) then that is your description. or you could always try the basic "someone who likes anthros and animals" approach on people who haven't even heard of furries.

Well.. Myself.. I Draw and Write..Then i tend to act like a wolf.. Growling, barking, sniffing around... Eat lots of Steak and Meats... I wear a collar, and working on Ears and a Tail...IT all depends really how much a furry you are and how much of a hmm, animal you want to be in public..

Then Sometimes if im really happy I chase butterflies.. Also usually travel upstairs on all fours.. I cant think of anything else right now..

hmm... the only things i can think of is that i occasionally "paw" my face, i too go upstairs on all fours, eat lots of steaks (not small steaks, large 16oz. or larger), and usually growls at others trying to steal my food, and i typically sniff around...
*sniff, sniff* that's about all... i think ':?:' ...

I dont feel the need to actively do anything to express my furriness. I know its there and that's good enough fer me.

For WS and I, we are surrounded by animal plushies and TONS of animal nik-naks. WS also has a collection of furry art on his walls and I have some of my own work hanging up as well.

I draw... and draw... and draw...

The only other thing I do besides that is wear feathers in my hair on occasion.  I'm happy being who and what I am, and I don't feel the need to go out of my way to express it.

I purr when content or happy. Thinks was a furred cat like humanoid in a former life. I use hands & feets more like paws whenever can. Halfway decent hopper too. Expresses my furryness a lot on internet. Most prob think its just fun and amusing role play on my part when they see it in irc chat rooms But I find internet a real good way to let my furry spirit manifest itelf thru me. I think my expressions ect of affection are more puppy dog or general furry type rather then human. A general attitude of being part of the rest of the animal world rather then seperate from it. I try to act human out in the human world. But sometimes just want to drop that and bound around on all fours. I dont use my senses in the human way. But thats only picked up on when showing friends ect how to more actively use their senses. Except when peeps notice my hearing or night vision is rather good. I dont much climb, not comfy with. Course bunnies arent known for climbing anyway. I dont like kissing in human fashion, rather prefers light nose tip to nose tip touch for that.
Enjoy living.

I draw and write, and I've got several spider plushies and a ring with a spider on it. And apart from the ring, the rest all stays in my room/backpack when no one else can see.

Few people who know me know I'm a furry, but that's fine with me.   '<img'>

Lemme see... Sometimes I snarl at people if I'm angry, also go up the stairs on all fours most of the time and I must have at least *checks computer files* 40MB+ of furry artwork on my computer.
its the oddest thing. I really didnt see this coming! We had dinner and talked about going over to his mother's house on Sunday and about getting a puppy. I thought things were getting serious. Then I wake up on Thursday and hes not here! just like that - gone! I asked some of his buddies in the system 32 folder but they didnt know what happened. I just dont understand.........

I surround myself with Equines. I never pass up an chance to 'chat' with the neighbors horse. I also make my own equine anthro plushies ( g rated).
