This got me thinking...

I don't believe in souls or spirits, I'm about as un-spiritual as you'll ever find.  At the same time, I have an almost profound connection to the animals of my fursona (Jaguars and Cheetahs) that is very otherkin-like.
Whenever I see those animals, I see a bit of me, I see a friend. There's a genuine sense of empathy I have for those animals, that are just like me.  :-[

There are such things as Otherkin/therians who don't believe in souls or reincarnation. They see it as more of a mental connection.

There is a good cartoon that explains a great deal in one picture.

I love Therithere! I found that comic a few weeks back, and I read all of the comics in one day.  :D

awakened Dragon otherkin right here. Really nice to know there are some others around here. And yea I agree on the difference but I kinda fall into being a furry and a Otherkin at the same time :D

As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm otherkin. Specifically, I'm a mythical bird of sorts, though have yet to find more details...

I do have few memories, such as flying and blocking out the sun almost completely (I was pretty big, to put things lightly), and very eagle like. I was almost entirely bird, with some human characteristics, such as human like hands and arms...but I'm not so sure they were always "out". I think more often than not, I was just "bird". I was a "giver" of wisdom,  so it seemed.

Granted, if it weren't for these memories, I'd consider it mental. I still am what I was inside.

I'm otherkin though not a furry type so I don't especially connect the two. I'm not really a part of the otherkin community though as I've alway been worried I wouldn't quite fit in there.

I don't know about communities for non-spiritual Otherkin, but I'm one of those kinds of Otherkin. My connection to my therioside is more psychological than s[piritual. I don't wanna clog the board up babbling about my therianthropy but if you PM me I'll tell you all about it.
As far as a good general resource, I recomend www.werelist.org and www.projectshift.org. Werelist is a forum, and Project Shift has a lot of good articles.

Generally you can find otherkin communities tied to sites in the psyvamp community. http://thebrokencoffin.com is one. It doesn't have a whole lot of otherkins on it, but it's growing. Also psychicvampire.org has a decent community although with some topics
it's almost as if they add 3 pages a day.

Hope I could help out a bit!
