Mecha and Space Battle anime.
« on: October 01, 2011, 07:38:28 pm »
Anybody here a fan of anime with a lot of mecha combat, space battles, and other high tech action? I am! :) The very first (and still favorite) anime that I ever got hooked on is Macross/Robotech. :) After that, I have always enjoyed searching for, and watching, as many other mecha/high tech animes as I could: Rahxephon, Full Metal Panic, Yukikaze, Patlabor, and numerous others. What other shows have people watched and would recommend?

Watch Code Geass8)  That was an awesome anime series, and I can't wait for season 3.

My friend convinced me to watch the entirity of Gurren Lagann with him.  I thought it was decent, but it was still entertaining. :)

I disagree with the concept  of mecha on on a deep level, but it doesn't make it any less entertainng.  :P

I liked Appleseed alot, and Escaflowne had it's moments

Eurkea 7 is a great anime... Designs are a bit wierd, but it has solid animation, sound (If you like techno), and good-ish designs.

Break/Broken Blade is another good one unless you are talking story.

And old Mechwarrior Cartoon (American), but it has a few mechs... Not really an Anime, but MANY more people must know about it.

If you want to play a Mecha Video Game, give Armored Core a try. VERY anime-Styled.

Another, much more "realistic" game would be Chromehounds. Sadly, for both of these, you need XBox. And Chromehounds became less fun because they unpluged the servers due to lack of playing.

A THIRD game would be Lost-Planet, or that new brighter spinoff, EX troopers or something like that.

475 consecutive last stands. Funny how that happens, huh?

A 'Solus Cat' is my evolution on my older species, the Hreldren. But better.

Oh, I forgot; "Prototype" from Halo Legends a great anime with a mecha, and is one of the few (Five) shows/Movies that have brought me to tears. Even if you don't like Halo, I'd give it a watch. The scene at the beginning was the most saddening part.
