Welcome to our little home away from home, MidnightDragon!

Don't worry about talking too much. We love hearing from others and those just joining us. Take a look see about Furtopia Forums as there are SO many topics to check out. If you don't find something you are interested in just start one yourself!

We are all very friendly here.

You may also check out the rest of Furtopia itself. Lots of artists in artwork/stories-poetry/music. Since you say you are an artist, if you are interested and have some furry art that comprises 80% of your website (if you already have one) you can fill out a Links Application. Or if you don't have a webpage you can fill out a Webpage Application to get your own webpage.

We also have a new service added to Furtopia Forums itself. "Furtopia Community Forum" where furolks can apply for a forum for their city/state.

Feel free to ask questions and answer ones you feel comfortable talking about.

Enjoy your stay!

OH, BTW, I am Kada-Ru the pegasus that helped WhiteShepherd create Furtopia!

Well, we do allow gifs, animations, music and nudity. As for the music though, they have to be of your own works. We do worry about copyright infringements. If you read our F.A.Q. it may help you with what can and cannot be put on your webpage here. We are still quite liberal.  '<img'>

We also have different categories for artist, stories-poetry and music. You can been in each category of your choice.

(giggles) I meant the music. But, yes, I do understand.

WhiteShepherd started your process about 10 minutes ago and you are getting a webpage!  '<img'>

Belated welcome Midnight Dragon.  I look forward to seeing your art and hearing your music once it is on your site.

Virginia seems to the state for furs.  In the several months since I've started coming out of my shell and participating in the fandom I've run into a ton of furs from Virginia.  I've noticed a good number of furs on Furtopia also have VA as there state of residence.

... Maybe we should have a convention in VA?

I understand there is a gathering at Glen Echo park in the fall that draws furs from the east coast area.  Not quite Virginia, but just over the border in MD.

There's a Northern VA furs yahoo group.  Doesn't get a lot of activity, but it has a good number of members.

There are a lot here that can give you their experiences from attending cons.

As for meeting furs in VA, advertise meeting at a movie theatre, or eating at a specific restaurant etc. That is always a good way of meeting furs. *Be sure to bring sketch books!*  '<img'>

As for being a fur? Well, not all that attend cons are furs. There are those that just love the activities!

Good luck on meeting others, Midnight Dragon!

*raises and waves paw*  Here's a Virginia furry that wants to become a New Mexico furry. '<img'>

Cons can be sorta scary, especially if you haven't any furs before. '<img'>
If you can have a gathering with some locals, I say go for it. Dinner, zoo trip, picnic... whatever works! I'd avoid going to a movie for the simple matter that it's difficult to actually socialise with anyone in a theatre, while the movie's playing.
Zoo trips have often worked wonders for getting new furs out of hiding and meeting up with the furry group around here where I am. '<img'>
I'm sure you'll find something cool to do. '<img'>

And Kada-Ru? I cant remember any time I brought my sketch book with me to meet some one lol. Usualy I find something to draw on...Like newspaper, some ones arm, a wall. Infact I dont even recall even thinking of brining my tablet with me...hmmm maybe I should start!

(giggles) I didn't either till I got with WS. I had it for almost 3 years and only had one artist draw in it! Then, being with WS he started getting me into the habit of taking it with me. I am still shy about asking others to draw in it for me but I'm sure I will work through that with time.

I would also sketch on napkins. Those were always handy at eating joints.  '<img'>
