Title: Party foods!
Post by: Kobuk on February 13, 2013, 09:37:52 pm
Just curious, but......

What kinds of party type foods do you like to see served at parties, whether they be Christmas, Birthday, New Year's, July 4th, or some other party?
What are your favorite or least favorite party type foods, whether hot or cold?
Do you ever make and bring party foods to an event?

Number one rule for us: we CAN'T attend a party that doesn't have hot wings or little smokies in a Crock pot. If there are none to be seen, we bring them. MUST. HAVE. WINGS.  :D

I agree with dodbringr. Another thing I like is some good guacamole.

We have never had guacamole... It has avocado in it, and we usually steer clear of vegetable type food stuffs.  :P   Also, the hot wings have to be MELT YOUR FACE OFF INTO A PUDDLE hot. Otherwise they aren't as fun.  :D

Wooo for other people liking wings hotter than the Sun!   :D
We just thought of this, there also has to be an abundance of certain soft drinks... (Hey Kobuk...   :D  )

All he has is Mountain Dew though...I don't really like that. Maybe some Coke/Pepsi or Sprite/Sierra Mist or Dr. Pepper. Anyone like mini chicken pot pies? I make those sometimes when I have a party.

Sprite and Sierra Mist are pretty much Mt. Dew minus caffeine and a few other things, so that works! We don't drink darker sodas (cola, Dr. Pepper, etc.), so we didn't mention those.  :P

We have never had a chicken pot pie, or a mini one either, so we can't really say one way or the other about them.  :D  They certainly sound interesting though.

Chicken pot pies are basically like a chicken stew in a pie crust.

A party just isn't a party unless it has nachos or a taco dip pie. :) Yum!

We'll take that as a "No" then Kobuk?   :D
Not huge fans of deviled eggs ourselves actually... Chicken=YES  Eggs=NO   Logical? To be determined...   (:

I like little snacks, especially salty meaty things.  Pizza rolls, Trader Joe's chicken stix, dumplings, potstickers, taquitos, meatballs, weenie-wraps... it's all good.  I also like some  jicama slices, pickles, and pomegranate.

Moose Munch is a fun party good.  I've never made it myself, but I found the following link (which has a recipe) for anyone who doesn't know what it is:  http://ponderedprimedperfected.blogspot.com/2012/11/award-winning-moose-munch-recipe.html
