Thank you for your kind words, DrakonianDanceR.
In response to your observations, the "Wolf Stare" was a rather difficult one for me to get done. I was using the Oil Pastels on black construction paper and the oils just wouldn't work right. I didn't want to toss it out and start over, why I don't know because I have done that on other pics, so I got a bit creative using some Prisma colored pencils. I also used a toothpic and toothbrush to get some of the affects I was looking for. WS was a great help in getting the eyes to look like they do with his suggestions while I was creating them. Oil Pastels are not very forgiving when working with them but I have learned some new techniques creating this pic!
The "Fox Cubs", "Nosey Grey Fox Cubs", and both of the eagle pics are my 'erased' pics. I put ONE color over the entire white paper, then use a cotton ball to smooth it out and get rid of any excess chalk. I visualize in my mind what I want on the paper, which this time around I used photos for references, and then used the eraser. I am learning how to erase a lot and a little chalk to get different effects. The "Fox Cubs" therefore are not a different color, just erased more to be set off from the back ground.
I don't know if the eagles are the same bird or not but they are both bald eagles. I took them from two different photos for reference. I liked how the wings looked in the photos and I wanted to try and recreate them on the erased creations. (I need the practice on wings.) Creating these is what helped me to learn more about how much to erase here or there or not to erase to get some interesting 'detail' in the pics.
For the silhouettes, I used photo references for the backgrounds. Since I used the chalks, except on the "Kangaroo Hop", the backgrounds didn't come out as bright as the photos. I still like how they turned out though.
I would have liked the backgrounds on the silhouettes to come out like the photos, but I need more practice for that to happen.
I'm only doing 6 of the silhouettes and 6 of the erased pics. I'm trying to make each panel in the show a theme of its own.
I have more pics coming in the next coming week. I finished one last night that I just finished scanning and will add to my webpage and here some time tomorrow. (well, actually today)
