Ways to remove static from faux fur while in suit.

(1/1)

Jade Sinapu:
I have a suit that has some minimal airbrushing, mostly black paint.  Very little.
Anyway, to get rid of static, how do I do that?

Any ideas that won't ruin the fur feel or make it smell weird or remove paint?

I did find this link online:

One product you could try is called Static Guard. It's a aerosol spray can and can usually be found in the laundry supply aisles at grocery stores. But if you use it, then test it out on some scrap pieces of faux fur fabric first before using it on your own fursuit.
I don't think I've ever really had any problems with static electricity with my fursuit in the past and I've never seen much, if any, posts come up with this kind of situation. Therefore, I really don't have much advice to give.

Jade Sinapu:
Yeah apparently here we have a bit of static.  My suit is really clean right now and the fur stands on end if I put it on.  Sort of weird.
I use Static Guard but it smells bad to me, and they add a weird scent to cover the bad smell.
I can't dry the suit in a hot dryer with a dryer sheet or I would.

I still need to click the link.

Jade Sinapu:
Ahh rub a dryer sheet on the fur.  Might work.
