I suspect that a fair percentage of furs are also Star Trek fans.  Are you?  If so, of all or which of the series?  Who's your favorite Captain? -- Warp speed, now!!!    '<img'>

Star Trek is great. My favorite was Next Generation (and my favorite captain was of course Picard). I hate Enterprise though, and I hate Archer.

TOS and TNG are the best series, overall. DS9 suffered from 'angry bitter man' syndrome, since Avery Brooks didnt really want to do Star Trek in the first place. And Voyager, well, had awful characters and worse scripts. The spiffy special effects didnt completely cover that up. As far as I'm concerned, 'Enterprise' isnt really Star Trek at all. Its too far from the original vision to really make any sense at all.

I can't pick a favorite captain or series...I think, if someone put a gun to my head, DS9 would be my favorite series, and Picard my favorite captain.

I agree that TOS and TNG were the best series; I could never get into DS9 or Sisko, either.  Voyager had problems, but Seven of Nine alone was worth the price of admission, Rrrrr!  She could assimilate me anyday!  Enterprise has its moments, and the jury is still out on that one.

As for captains, Kirk is my favorite.  He would try to reason for just so long, and then would haul off and slug the guy!  William Shatner has written some books bringing Kirk back from the dead with Borg technology; he also destroys the Borg home planet.  If he were a fur, Kirk would be a fox... Ok then, what about the other captains? I think Sisko would be a bear.

I know I can't be the only person who enjoyed looking at Kes more than Seven on Voyager.

I watch Star Trek: The Next Generation on Spike T.V. once everyday. I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, though. TNG is the only series I will watch.

I used to be a trekkie, till Enterprise came out. I got angered by many of the changes, twists, and inaccuracies that they had made. Then Seeing all the loop holes in the other episodes/seasons/series. I gave it up. It had gotten so stupid, and they couldn't stay with their own plots, and inventions.

Mef, Star Trek became rather poopy to me.

Though I often consider Trekkies to be close associates of furries, but I am definitely not a fan of the series itself.  It just doesn't seem possible that humanity could restrict which sentinent lifeforms they establish relations with so they only have to deal with races that breathe oxygen and look like humans with pointy ears or large foreheads. I really can't stand it I'm afraid (though I have heard a very funky version of the theme tune  '<img'> ). I've never really worked out exactly why though, might be because the sci-fi I watch tends to be sci-fi-comedy *is reminded of HHGTTG*

My dad's a huge Trekkie, and I watch it with him pretty often.  He prefers the original series, but I like TNG better.

Reasons why I like TNG better than the original series:

* In the original series, the plots tended to be pretty far-fetched without even attempting to make a credible explanation for things.  Just HOW did this time-traveling portal wind up on this uninhabited planet in the middle of nowhere?
* Picard would never reduce himself to shooting an alien with a hollow log.
* The original series doesn't have Data.  Everyone loves Data.
* In TNG, the consoles on the bridge of the Enterprise-D all look like they do something.  Just what the hell does that Spirograph-looking thing do?  Or any of the other flashy/blinky/spinny things on the bridge of the original Enterprise, for that matter.
* Does EVERYONE that wears a red shirt have to die?

Maybe I'm just nitpicky, but some things just bug me a little.  I still like the original series, but I just like TNG a lot more.

And Picard is my favorite captain.  I like all the TNG crew more than their original series counterparts.
Except Scotty.  Geordi's cool, but Scotty beats everyone. '<img'>

And I'm NOT a Star Trek nerd, I'm just opinionated. ':p'
   Now,
       let's go play, together...
Together under the
             clearest of blue skies.
