"I am only concerned for your safety, my son.  It is not common for our people to fly on wings that are not our own."

The wingless Avari bowed his head in confirmation.  "I understand your concerns, Navitania.  However, I fear we cannot keep the teachings of the Avari restricted to the one planet on which we live."  He took up his pack and strapped it onto his back.  "Do not think of it as an attempt to fly before I am able.  I will soar through the far reaches of space, but my feet shall always be planted firm."  He smiled and got down on one knee, bowing before his mentor to say goodbye.  "After all, I believe the people of our temporary home are all too familiar with the ways of the Avari.  If I am to truly put all I have learned to use, it must be among others that have not."  He looked up at her hopefully.  "Do I have your permission?"

Navitania folded her wings down at her sides, draping over her shoulders like a cloak.  She smiled as well, gently took his hand and nuzzled it fondly.  "May the world benefit from your wisdom, Terastas of the Monastery."  She let go and bid him stand.  "Just try to stay on the peaceful path, okay?"

Terastas bowed again.  "Always."  He stood up, looked over his teacher's head at the towering stone shrine the Avari called the Monastery, protected by miles of lush forest that attracted the Avari like moths to a flame.  But now, as custom dictated, Terastas would be leaving, not only the shrine he had studied in for more than a human's lifetime, but his entire planet as well.  He stepped back so he could see the entire shrine, closed his eyes, and bowed farewell.

Thunder rumbled overhead as rain poured down over what was once a small outpost located inside a forested area.. Only a few dry areas were left in this dark, damp place. A dim light flickered through the darkness, the little power it had left, slowly beginning to die out. A sudden bashing broke the silence of the structure as a door was broke right out of the wall. Wading through the knee deep water was the dragon Nyskall.

"Place is more flooded than I thought.." muttered Nyskall as he peered around the darkness. Checking his wrist computer, he noticed where he had to go was to go lower into the basements. Sloushing through the water he found the way down....

Completely underwater..

"Hmph.." Taking in a huge breath Nyskall dove underwater. He flicked on a light on his wrist device so he could get a better view of things. Swimmig past some computer systems he found that they still had some power left.

("Just enough.") he thought to himself. Searching around for about half a minute Nyskall found a working terminal in which he could get the information that he came for. Making a few connections to the terminal from his wrist computer he began to gather the info. About halfway finished, the need for air began to pester him.

("Just a little longer...........got it")

Removing the connections, Nyskall flipped around underwater and swam the way he came from.

Breathing in air as he rose out the flooded basement and back into the knee deep water, Nyskall began to check the information he had gotten. It was all fairly good but then he noticed something else..

"Frigate Rouche?...I've heard of that ship from somewhere.." and then thinking to himself..

("I'll check around somemore, maybe this place has something to do with that ship..")

Outside, the storm was still unleashing its anger...

After two days of traveling on foot, Terastas came to the capitol city of Eravia, the same name as the planet on which the Avari now resided.  City, however, may not be the best of terms.  It was actually more of a place where commerce could be centered so the religious havens and environmental reserves could remain undisturbed.  The city's crowning glory was the space ladder, literally an elevator that lifted up above the planet's atmosphere and up to a docking station, capable of supporting twenty at a time but usually only accomodating less than a fraction.  Down below, the elevator shaft descended down the middle of a fifty-story tower.  The fifty floors were more active than anywhere else on the planet, though few locations were actually of interest.  Most active were the trading port (Eravia bought more than it produced), the tourism and travel agency, and the mercenary's bar/guild, which was Terastas's destination.

He was not sure what he expected to find there, but this was not it.  Five humans were present, three of which were clad in decorated blue and gold combat armor and keeping well to themselves.  The other two sat casually at a large table, accompanied by two bipedal foxes and an incredibly large skunk-like creature.  One of the foxes spotted him on instant, apparently confused by his blue fur.  She said something to the others, they followed her eyes, and the humans appeared to laugh.  One waved him over, and after joing the party at the table and listening to their conversation for more than an hour, the words began to make sense.

"I know opportunities are rare in Eravia, but this is ridiculous" commented one of the humans.

"It happens sometimes" said the fox female.  "Whenever something bad happens.  This time a frigate got destroyed.  Haven't heard much more than that; its still that period where everyone's running around trying to figure out what happened."

"Might be a good opportunity once they figure it out" the skunk commented.  "You know who owned the freighter?"

"Can't say I do" she replied.  "I know it was called the Rouche, but that's it.  Besides, you should keep your voice down about hunting and bodyguard work."  She motioned towards the uniformed humans.

Terastas followed her eyes to them and blinked at them.  "Who are they?"

"So you understand us now?" said the fox female.  "Cool, what's your name?"

He said it for them, and the humans tilted their heads at it, and the foxes both tried to pronounce it with no success.

"Can we call you Terry for short?" one of the humans asked.

He paused a moment before answering.  "If it makes it any easier for you, alright."  He looked back at the uniformed humans.  "So who are they?"

"Don't know for sure" he responded.  "Some kind of fighter's guild.  Don't know who they work for, but we know this: they hate competition."

The skunk reached across the table and ruffled Terry's headfur.  "That's why independents like us need to stick together.  Let the big-wigs alone and the corporate wars'll be global."

The Kalga Pushed its self into the space ways, causing reality to ripple, solid objects bent, Things changed, the mind lifted, the body weighted. There was a sudden burst of sound and the world straightend out again. We were now Way Bursting.

"How long will it take us to get to the Darvin cluster?"

~2 Fermans, I've also learned more. The disturbence I felt is another race, I do not know them, they are unlike anything I've felt over the many thousands of mehraks. Their minds are dark, and cold.~

"Do you know how far they have spread? Or have the Space ways not have the knowledge?"

~They are just as ignorent.~

"Can you camoflauge yourself?"

~I can, but I do not know if it will work against these minds. They are dark, I fear them. We are coming out of burst~

Once again the world twisted out of shape, sounds distorted, and the sound bursted once more, and everything was back to normal.

~THEIR MINDS! AHH!~

"Kalga! Whats Wrong?"

~They Claw at my mind, they hurt me. They tear to be inside my head, they want to kill.~

"Block your mind, keep it closed, you can't let them get in!"

~I have done so, but they still tear at the surface. I can feel them.~

"We'll do this as fast as we can. Contact the station."

~I have established a radio contact with the entitie~

"This is Captain Jadnar of the uh.. Kalga. You have an Enemie in your misted."

"What? How do you know!? We have nothing on scope, besides your ship."

"The Kalga can Sense them."

"Sense them? Are your sensors broken?"

"No, the Kalga is an organ ship, as you should of concluded by now, it has its on conscienceses."

"Hell, what are we supposed to do?"

~Something is coming~

"Station, The Kalga senses something coming, I recommend you go to Full combat alert! NOW!"

The realization that the assignment Brent had been called on would not take place on the planet he was currently stationed on was a mild annoyance. Having been born on a rather under-advanced planet, he had never had enough space-travel experience to get used to interstellar travel, and the thought of it still made his stomach lurch. Oh well, what must be done must be done. Finding a console in the small town near the church he had just left, he quickly sent his message out onto the nets, posting it wherever those who owned ships with passenger space were likely to find it.

'In need of interplanetary transport for one, destination and price negotiable upon acceptance of contract.

Terastas, now Terry, had fallen into a stuppor by then.  Apart from the rastafarian towing service (be damned if he would enlist with them, the Eravian depot was empty.  The three uniformed mercenaries had left, and the independents he had established mutual friendships with in that time had all retired to the local inns, not content to wait any longer for employment to find them.  That left Terry alone in the mercenary's bar, with nothing to do but sit quietly and meditate.

He was silent and motionless for so long that the canine woman tending the bar almost made it a habit of checking for breathing.  Still, despite the discomfort he brought the less spiritually guided individuals that required her service, she knew well the ways of the Avari.  Rarely did an Avari begin his lesandria without sensing good reason.  It was common for Avari to spend hours, even days in meditation while they searched the far reaches for an answer.

He awoke from his meditation with a jolt, but soon had calmed himself and approached the bartender with utmost politeness.

"May I ask you, do you know of any weapons dealers in Eravia?"

Still searching around the dark place, Nyskall managed to find a ramp that went up to the first floor. As he ventured further up he noticed a rather odd indentation in the wall. A long jagged scar ran across the metal plating, the metal shredded, and shrapnel poking out. Shining a light on the damage, he noticed alot of red in the wall and running down it as well. Nyskall quirked his eye as he got a closer look.

"Blood..."

Nyskall took a look around and listened for a moment. Only the sound of rain pouring and the rumble of thinder was heard. Without bothering to check the cause of the damage further, he continued on through the dark halls. Coming across a larger door than the usual ones, he stopped to check it.

"Locked huh?"

Flicking his tail he took several steps back and rammed the door with his body, ripping it out of the wall in which it was held in.

"Not anymore..." he mumbled as he walked in. A distant crash sounded off in the distance, making Nyskall wonder about it. Scanning the room he noticed a security card lying on the ground.
Checking the terminal which mostly was wrecked, he found feedback which appears to have been transmitted between the Rouche, another ship which Nyskall couldn't identify due to the message being mostly garbaled, and something else....

"Fri-----Rouche, are you...re, repeat...don't...have you.....scope.......are you out there?"

"The Fri....you call Rouch.....been destroyed...as...be you."

"Who is this?"

"We are t............................................."

The message was no longer translatable after that.

"Something's going on out there.....think I'll check it out"

Nevwyn trudged slowly through the doors to the station's environmental services department after another long day of cleaning up the reminents of barfights and hazardous chemical spills. Putting his tools away he slowly makes his way to the mr. coffee in the lounge.

Nodding to acknowledge, greetings from a couple of the guys there he poured himself a mug of life.

"Hey Nev, you get a chance to see the news reports yet today?"

"You know I never read that crap," shakes his head " its only ever gossip about which star is cheating one whom with who, or whoses suing them for it."

"Not today it isn't, theres real news today."

Nevwyn flops out in one of the arm chairs interested, "so what have we got thats supposedly real news?" reads the news burst thats handed to him. "Well well, looks like you get the understatement of the month award with this one. How'd this one get out? The company should've had this hushed up pronto, it bad for business to lose a freighter makes people nervious."

*** Operations to Environmental Services***

"go ahead Ops."

***Report to Cargo bay 4 for chemical containment***

"On the way Ops"

"this ones yours Nev, I had to take the last one."

"like hell it is, I just spent the morning cleaning biosludge out of a cruise ship."

"the old way then?"

"yeah"

"Rock, paper, scissors. Rock, paper, scissors. Rock, paper, scissors"

"Rock beats scissors, lol sorry bud your turn have fun."

Nevwyn puts his feet up and relaxes to the sound of a grumbling coworker heading out the door.

"heh heh heh"

Sure enough a starship approached. It was large, perhaps twice as large as the space station. Maybe more, it was hard to tell.

~They are contacting the station, I'll intercept the signal~

"We are the Kal'tak! Surrender at once, or be destroyed!"

"We mean you no harm, What is it you want, what conflict have you with us?"

"You Existance. But that is curable, Surrender at once, or you will be one of the first steps to this Disgusting galaxy's purification."

"Perhaps we can Negotiate a truce-"

"NEVER! Surrender or Die!"

~They have dissconnected from communications.~

"We should stay out of range, to pick up surviors of any sort. We aren't made for conflict, of any sort."

~The big ship is launching fighters, and frigate class ships. It still tears at my mind~

Eravia being a planetary environmental reserve, the closest thing to a weapons dealer available was a matured Avari with a crippled wing that made ornamental knives and dueling pistols, more for decoration than defense.  Of course, there are always those few that only a true swordsmen would see any beauty in, not for their decorative touch, but for the perfection of the blade, made of material so sharp it could penetrate solid steel, masterfully carved so that it sliced through the air with a soft poetic wind.

Terastas managed to acquire one such blade, crafted of a curious mirrored metal that seemed to be carved masterfully enough to pierce thought.  And best of all, since both dealer and customer were Avari, all Terastas had to give in exchange for the blade were his thoughts.

Woken rudely from his nap in the lounge, Nevwyn reaches out to shut off the alarm buzzer that would have been neck to his bed. Stretching out as far as he can in search of that be damnable device he falls out of the chair and lands in an undignified heap on the floor.

Rubbing his jaw as he picks himself up off the floor, the alarm finally burning the fog from his brain. "Holy crap!"

Racing his way through the corridors towards the ermergency suit room for this sector of the station he could just make out the evacutation orders coming over the loudspeakers on the prominade.

*** a drill! I repeat this is not a drill, all passengers make their way to the lifepods. Please help everyone to make it by procee***

Hurrying to make it to the suit room in time to don his spacesuit before it becomes necessary to learn how to breath in a vaccum Nevwyn tries to recall what is was that he had to do after he got suited up.

Babel began too realise that something was realy wrong here as he approched the space station. Well it was probably the site of the huge ship that was parked in front of it.
"oh frag this ain't good Hmmm looks like that thing's squareing up for a fight".
A flicker of curiosity about the unknown cruiser creept over him he had never seen a configaration like it befor.
"If i keep well outside there scanner range I should be able to get the stelth mode up an go in and have a peek"
Activating the cloak he moved in at speed.
" buzz it that's all get in get a scan n get out simple"
It was just as he was skimming the hull when the hatch opend and the fighter emerged from the larger ship. As it did Babels small craft traveling to fast to manover clipped the fighters tail end.
Both craft spiralled out of control.
" flipping hell a fender bender with an assault craft what a choice of targets to hit".
The computers voice crackled in to life
Defencive grid at zero
Wepons grid at Zero
Stelth mode off
Life systems at 60%
"I don't care can we manover " The fighter had recoverd and had spotted his craft and was making full speed for him.
" Short range only secondary power source hit"
"dam I need to make it to a larger ship one capable of bursting me the hell out of here"
"set course back to the armies frigate mabey there I ca.......
The ship lurched at the impact Babel knew what weapons fire felt like.
"Computer" no response
Babel knew he was out of options bar one he hit the thrust leaving the fighter at almost a stand still " well thats it out of juice after this Have to try and limp it some how to another vessle just hope they ain't following"

~The starbase is evacuating, I'm also sensing another ship, it suddenly appered, it must of been in stealth mode. It is in trouble, it is right next to the large ship, the mind eater.~

"Do you think we can go in and get it?"

~It is hard to say, the swarms of fighters being launched from that vessel will make it hard.~

"Well, lets go in, I link with you, Prepare a barrier."

~The barrier is forming.~

A Chair of sorts roase out of the floor, considering the ship is organic it can do a bit more then what ships of metal and would could do. Walking over to it, I slowly fell into it. I could feel it mold to me, as I relaxed. I could feel something touch my mind, the Kalga. Relaxing my thoughts, I let it meld into me, letting it press into my thoughts. We were becoming one.

I could see the ship that the Kalga was talking about, it was small, a one person craft. I looked severely damaged. Together we moved towards it. We watched the large ship and its smaller craft. Attacking the station. Weapons fire danced across the vast hull of the station, small energy weapons firing off shots with a pitiful wave compared to the attacker's.

Approching the distrested craft, we reached out with an appendage, of sorts, it was more a tentical that grew from the hull. Quite suddenly I, no we, could feel sharp stabs, pain. They were attacking us. Quickly pulling the disabled fighter towards us, the Kalga opened its self, and pulled the fighter in, absorbing it.

Once we took in the fighter, the appendage shrank, but several more came. And they whipped out, smashing into the attacking fighters, throwing them off, casting them back. I pressed with my mind to push them away, using the magic that I had learnt.

~We must go!~

~No, we can't we must pick up others if at all possible~

~But we will be destroyed!~

~We owe it to these people to save them as best as we can.~

Back inside his fighter...

"All systems check" The ship began to hover off the ground as it's engines began to power up. After a few seconds, the fighter was now heading accelerating quickly through the atomosphere.

("Hm..according to this information I got..seems the Rouche was destroyed by an unknown attacker, yet..why would that outpost be in ruin as well..?")

"What the?" was all he said when the station got into view. Slowing the ship down, he saw a larger ship and several fighters attacking it. Another thing that caught his attention was another ship just out in the distance. A stray shot from a fighter came zooming past his craft.

"You wanna try that again buddy?" he growled. Accelerating once again he charged into the battle. Noticing several fighters attacking, what appeared to be an organic ship, he maneuvered his fighter to engage the others.

"Not this time" muttered as he moved the ship into an arc and came up behind three fighters that had started to fire upon his ship.

"It's your turn to fry" said as he began to return fire to them.

Trustor hopped outside the manhole just another lost shadow in a vast unknown city as his brown eyes scanned the darkness.   Sirens wailed a shrill whine call as Trustor watched other living constructs run frantically for there lives.  Trustor stood a little shocked.  He had never known there was such a wide diversification existing in other world militaries creatures.  There were felines, canines, rodent, and others of so many shapes and sizes there faces in shocked terrified expressions of fear. But where were the human owners?  Human’s were so common in his cities.

The streaks of blue light lit the sky with earth shaking explosions.  Buildings were collapsing under fire and implosions.  Trustor doubled over holding his head as he jerked from pain like a knife cutting at his mind, “Death!” “Annihilation for..”.  Trustor had been caught off guard by a psychic onslaught.  It was massive untold minds tearing away at him using his telepathy as a source of injury.  Trustors watch beeped indicating a spike in his serotonin levels.  Karathian training quickly kicked in as Trustor instinctively brought up a mind shield switching over consciously to a adapted psychic wall as his head cleared adjusting from this form of attack.  BEFU’s sub a and b were genetically resistant and trained for possible mental attacks since the “owners” had seen the possibly for weakness in telepathy and made adjustments for such possibilities to defend and exploit.  His viability had to be proven holding his mind 12 hours strapped into a torture machine that ripped away at him mentally and physically.  His ears bled for a month afterwards.  It seemed painfully harsh at the time but it was this training that proved second nature now. Trustor id’d his attack as a psychic mind crush trying to cut away his will with brute force.  Adjusting his psychic wall Trustor alleviated most of the attack with a bogus mental target not within his own head.  A sudden flash of heat as a plasma blast hit 150 feet in front of Trustor rippling the pavement like water and sending him flying like a twig in a storm. He hit with a thud against a brick wall landing on his hands and knees.  Trustor knew if he had been more injured he would of not been able to hold off this mental attack.  He had to get out of here now!

Trustor leaped to his paws ready to bolt.  Smoke and dust turning everything into a dust filled black hell.  He paused with surprised again as his mind felt something.  “A Karathian here?!”, Trustor thought.  It was faint and far off but a defiantly of similar thought wave pattern as other BEFU’s on Kantor he had felt.  Telepathic species of similar origin had a genetic thought wave pattern that identified each other like sent and smell did physically.  However something troubled Trustor.  This mental pattern was very similar but not exact.  Sub a and b A-11's varied slightly do to neural alterations.  But this felt like neither.  Second size dictated broadcasting power.  The possible size canine of this BEFU would be beyond belief or altered.  But this mind felt familiar and comforting to Trustor.  More pure than a altered neural channel.  Trustor had known Karath always took useful technology from others it triumphed over.  Telepathy was not a inborn ability but a genetically implanted trait cultured and amplified for BEFU’s and some humans.  “Could this be a  non-Karathian thought?”, Trustor tuned in on the presence.  Kalga... was the identify felt.  He did not recognize this Karath call sign.

Trustor saw a falling space craft and ran as it impacted a building sending shards of glass down like glittering rain crashing around him.  Fire burned the sky and the air was getting harder to breath. He could see no one else. It may not be Karathian but he’d have to chance it.  It would take all his energy to try and send a mental message that far.  The Kalga unit was defending itself with a mind shield blocking the attack.  Trustor knew his faint telepathic signal may be lost in the blocking and would be less than a second in duration.  His only hope would be the matching genetic thought wave would be enough to attract attention.  Instinctively felt like catching one’s name in a busy room.  Trustor pressed some buttons on his watch.  He would enable his locator signal at the same time he sent his message.  “One, two, three..”, as Truster took a breath.  Trustor felt his body core tempature drop as he used what energy reserves he had physically to “shout” his telepathic message.  A message he knew all to well might not make it that far. “Help... Signal: 5598.765", Trustor sent collapsing almost in shock.   Clinging barley to consciousness and holding his psychic wall Trustors watch softly emitted a blue flash and beep repeating continuously in the darkness in time with it’s locator signal....

Sirens, and alarms rang through the streets, as Alex ran to get to the nearest shelter. Fire and total anarchy was widespread in the chaos...where were the police, the fire dept., the planets military!

"Mitchea....I can't believe it. The strangers that had handed over the ore to him...they're attacking us", Snarled Alex.
He reached for his camera, and scanned the pictures. This race was unknown to him, but why would they attack this planet, and without doubt the orbital station?

Alex quickly stopped as someone caught his eye. He looked pretty messed up as he got nearer. He gave him a quick nudge. "Hey buddy...you alright?"

Our combined minds threw our appendages at the swarming craft, our minds pushing and throwing the small fighters away.

I could see a new craft, no we did. It was a diffrent configuration, it was attacking the swarming fighters.

~It won't survive, not here, there are too many arrayed against it.~

~Keep a close watch on it, just incase, preferably keep nearby it, if we need to we can do an emergancy grab.~

~If you insist~

We drifted our combined bodies towards the craft, slowly, as the fighters caused much trouble. They were like flies, annoying bug dangerous in their swarms.

Quite suddenly something touched our minds. Something faint, diffrent from the scratching minds of these intruders. Something similar. Had it not been for our combined minds we may not of seen it, much less felt it, but it was there.

~Where did it come from?~ I felt relativily shocked, as I never expinced something of this sort, I'm no telepath, my specialty was more along the lines of kenisis.

~From the planet, a creature. Similar of mind. It calls for help. A brother, yet diffrent. It is from a city. Near the north, I can find it. Though the mind is gone, I could feel it before, faintly, but paid no mind to it due to them. I must help it.~

~What of up here?~

~I will split, I must help this mind, it calls. It is similar, it called to me. It wants my help. I can not ignore a smiliar mind.~

~Should I stay up here?~

~Yes, Stay, My mind will split, as well as body.~

I could feel us, change slightly. Our bodies, it changes. The same way that our defensive appandages were formed a bulge on the side of us, developed, It started to form a shape, a smaller form of the Kalga. Our minds suddenly felt smaller, the Kalga had really split its mind, yet it was still together. I was quite litterly, in two places at once.

I stated to feel sick with disorientation. I saw through two eyes, both of the kalga's. They saw diffrent things, were doing diffrent things, indipendently. My mind couldn't handle it, it was too much information at once, our meld broke, my mind too tired. I could now see within the bowls of the Kalga, it's organic skin the same as I had left it. My vision blured, my limbs were tired. Slumping in my seat, I passed out.

*****Switches to the Kalga******

I could feel his mind fall away from mind, his mind was weaker, it could handle less, I'm not too surprised. It wasn't ment for this.

Though I did not care to much of him. This similar mind, called. I must help it.

As I pushed away the evil metal, I pushed to the planet. My bigger self fought the them, while my smaller self fought the atmoshpere. My Mind strained as I increased the barrier power to resist the forces of friction against my skin. It burned so much, hurt.

*** Nevwyn you have that fire out yet?***

Damn them,  how can they expect me to put this out if I have just got here.

"Negative Ops,  the way needed to be cleared. Am assessing the situation as we speak."

***Roger that***

From the moment he managed to get suited up Nevwyn has been running like a madman trying to put out fires all over this half of the station in an effort to aid the engineers in keeping the station in one piece.

"Ops this is no good, the fire is being fed from a plasma leak. Can you reroute?"

*Negative, however there should be a substation about a hundred feet further down the corridor. You should be able to shut down the flow from there.*

"I don't recall passing one to get here."

*Sorry bout this but it looks like your gonna have to go through the fire to get to it*

Nev just shakes his head in disbelief, this day just can't get any worse. "Ops I better be getting hazard pay for this." Taking a deep breath to stead his nerves Nevwyn heads in to the inferno.

#Suit temperature regulators operating a 75% of maximum#
Please baby don't fail on me now. Knocked off his feet by a falling beam as the incoming fire connects with this section of the station.

*** Nevwyn we are showing a fire out in your section good work***

"What? I haven't reached the substation yet, better check your scanners again Ops as I can still hear the fire roaring around me."

Looking around to see whats going on, Nevwyn can't help but notice the how everything seems to be sliding his way not to mention how something seems to be pulling at his pinned legs.

#structural integrity of lower torso assemble at 66%# crap!
"OPS! Not to put anymore undue pressure on you, but get someone over here to help me!"
*Nevwyn we are showing a hull breach in your section we have to close your section off get out of there*
"I can't I'm pinned to the floor."
*Alright don't panic as soon as we can we'll get some one down to get you out, just remain calm and conserve your air*
"WHAT!!!!!"
*just hold tight*

Nevwyn could see the emergency pressure locks sliding in to place front of him, it was a safe bet that the ones aft of him were doing the same.

Don't panic, don't panic they get to me as soon as they can. Unfortunately for Nevwyn the constant pull of space was acting on the beam that held him in to place. Completely unnoticed durring his conversation to Operations the beam had shifted loose.

The smell of pitch and heat filled Trustor’s nose as he stared at the cracked pavement.  His paws dug into the dust his watch repeated it’s beacon pulse.

Something touched his shoulder...  There was a sound next to him.  Trustor shifted his focus away from his daze and looked slowly up to see another canine.  “Hey buddy...you alright?”  It was saying to him.  The dialect was Darvin one burst from where he should be.  The accent was possibly not native and this canine was bigger than him, wolf based perhaps.  Trustor wondered if it was the BEFU he had tried to reach. Though he could not see any Karathian markings.  Trustor dare not try a psychic link with his mind so exhausted and still defending.  He would have to hope.

“Are..  are you Kalga?”, Trustor coughed his brown eyes looking upwards from his position on the ground while he perked his ears in respect turning them to the wolf’s attention.

Alex became puzzled by the strangers question. "Kalga? No I'm not". he replied.

A nearby explosion blew up another thick cloud of dust. "We have to get out of here. It's too dangerous. Can you stand?", Alex asked.

Alex reached for his camera again. Maybe this guy knew the identity of the people in his photos. "Hey, do you know what race these guys are?"

The atmosphere was hotter then space, its air rubbed against my skin, like sand paper, I wasn't made for this.

I approached an area on this world which had great tall buildings, this is what they must call a city. I've heard them described to me, but I had never seen on, I'm a creature of space, not ground.

I flew into this city, the great buildings of steel and metal, erily like the very craft which I share space with, yet these did not fly, which is unusual. I wondered about the purpose of these things were.

That was of no matter, The similar mind was in here somehwere, I had to find it. I could feel it stronger now, it was awake. It is small. What was a similar mind doing so small? Why? Why is it here?

I could feel it suddenly, below me, it was with another, a creature, I could not feel it. I reached out to the similar mind.

~Are you The similar? The one that calls?~

Trustor listened to the wolf’s response and replied, “Oh.. I thought Kalga may be you.” Trustor could sense and hear the danger.   Wiping the dirt from his eyes as he strained to right himself Trustor steadied himself on his feet.  His sensitive nose felt like it was on fire from all the dust.  Trustor looked at the photos the wolf was showing him and replied, “Well I...”.

Trustor stopped a shocked expression on his face.  Looking at the wolf puzzled Trustor spoke, “Kalga... is here..”.  Trustor had felt the mental link establish.  He could now tell this was not a BEFU he knew.  The mind he was linked to was very different. Trustor’s mind adapted the link around the psychic attack.  Indeed he would not of been able to communicate through such a fierce attack if the pattern had not been such a ideal match.  But Kalga’s surface memories seemed vast and it’s cognitive seemed different than his.  Trustor had no idea what was here or if it was even a Karathian unit.  But he could at least feel out in it’s surface thoughts that it had a interest in him.  Concentrating Trustor let Kalga read his thoughts as he spoke out loud, “Trustor A-11 sub-b reg code 66212.” “Requests an immediate evac and dust off. ASAP” “In vicinity of hostel fire.” “Follow my locator signal and watch your back Kalga.” “Hostel craft spotted moving West and North point my position.”  Trustor turned to the wolf, “Your right, we better take cover till help arrives.”  ‘I hope.’, Trustor thought.

OOC:
Just wondering: Are we supposed to direct our courses towards the Kalga, or is the Kalga eventually going to come to us?

OOC: If yer at a far away planet, the Kalga will come to you. But it would seem we would of collected a bit of a large crew on our first pick up, *chuckles*. Also Bearpaw, you are welcome to wander the bigger Kalga, if you wish. End OOC

"Um... Goddess?"
~Yes Brent?
"I'm not getting anything. I thought you said a request from a Shining Voice would always be replied to promptly."
~Patience, those who are to pick you up are a little busy at the moment.
"Busy?"
~In a sense.
"Well... erm... is it wise to ignore a call for this long?"
~Considering I gave you the call... I'd say you can wait as long as I tell you to wait.
"Can't you kinda... nudge them in my direction a little?"
~I'll see what I can do.
"One last thing, Rick, don't meet their eyes."
"What?"
"Don't meet their gaze. They have seen beyond the veil, and this makes their gaze most terrible. Seen from Terra, they cause fear... undiluted in Gaia, they will strip your soul."
