I just today, in honor of season 2 purchased a set of ponies.

It has UGH! Pink Celestia (so wrong...) Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Pinkie Pie and Applejack (sans hat. ) They have molded hair so look quite show faithful except celestia in her pinkness *gag* and I think there is a little stork book thing in the package too. I'll wait till later to break it open and really examine the contents. Pictures will follow if I can get my camera working.

So I just opened up my package of ponies I got yesterday. Lets see here....


Twilight Sparkle, looking pretty G4 faithful. I'm pleased.



Can't have Twi without Spike. Don't like that he's on all fours but its okay. I don't mind too much. He looks quite faithful otherwise.



Pinkie Pie is a necessity for any brony. I like her hair. Molded is the way to go!



Hmmm.... No hat... But thats okay. I'd rather have no hat/removable hat than a tacky unfaithful BLUE hat like her other toy. Otherwise she's quite show faithful. I'm very pleased. I should track down someone online who can make a tiny hat fit for her. That'd be so awesome!

No gold on her Hoof plate/boot/shoe things either. Just the same pink....
Hair is ok. Crown is good....

But she's PINK of all colors! 
  oh well. I knew it when I bought it so I guess I can't complain...much.

They have the cutie mark on only one side?! Whats up with that?



Well... Not a perfect collection but its okay for a starter. Overall I'd grade it a C-.
Pink Celestia and her hoof plates are wrong.
Lack of 2nd side cutie marks.
No hat for AppleJack.
Spike is on all fours.

You need to work on these details Hasbro.

(Minor point I chose not to obsess over is that Celestia's horn is a bit too short as well.)

Sounds close to the set I got a while back. Gotta remember those
were made for preschoolers so little or nothing is loose.. A long
pointy horn on the princess might be considered a hazard.. I imagine
spike is on all fours to keep him up right. That big head makes him
top heavy. Even front heavy on all fours.

Yup thats the same exact set.
Its the only one I felt comfortable getting because of the molded hair and the closeness of likenesses to the show.

Well... maybe a little. If I had a Rarity in the style of the others I'd get some pins and stick them in Spike and set him next to rarity.

Also, my Fluttershy with the actual hair only has her cutie mark on one side too.

I think this has been a standard thing through all the toy generations, actually.

Makes me wonder if they put them on both sides for the show, just so they wouldn't have to even consider whether the exposed side is the one with the mark or not.

I like both sides better but that's probably my love of symmetry showing.
