But yeah, It looks like they're basically announcing "Furries, the Movie".

I'll definitely want to see it when it's out.
My only concern is that it is Disney, combining that with being animated almost always means it will be a musical, so... hmm, guess I'll just have to wait patiently and see...

I thought fantastic Mr fox was " Furry, the movie ".

Much like everyone I'm wondering what it will be about.

I probably won't see it when it first comes out, maybe at a matinee? Save some bucks, being a closet fur sucks.

Super basic plot: Bunny cop needs to prove herself among bigger scarier animals. However, she requires the help of her natural enemy, a con-man fox. Hilarity ensues? Friendship probably occurs.

I'd say its a 50/50 shot. Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6 weren't musicals.

Also, wow. It's like the furry fandom somehow contracted Disney to make a movie that is explicitly furry. They even explained the concepts (like anthropomorphism) that have been standard in Disney films for decades...

This is the sort of return to roots that I've been hoping for. Mainstream exposure is good for the fandom, it'll revitalize interest in furry things and keep it from getting too insular.

Looks cute, and it wouldn't be Disney without a song or three.

Now a fox tripping a rabbit might be funny to a fox, but hey, rabbits
are people too. But it looks like there will be a bit of pay back later.

I hope I get a chance to see it on video.

It's very likely Disney got the idea from the fandom. I imagine
some of their artists have attended furry conventions. I am sure
they get online to look at art, including furry art. Most any cartoon
artist would. If nothing else but to see if anyone is claiming/selling
or using Disney characters as their own.

Doubtful. It's not like this is the first anthropomorphic animal movie ever. Not by a long shot. I'm sure it'll be popular both in and out of the fandom. It is Disney after all. But I don't see the fandom exploding because of it anymore than it did with any of the previous plethora of anthropomorphic movies and TV shows released prior to it did.

I think we might see some new furs come from this, if not immediately then in several years when the youngsters that adored it the way we adored Robin Hood, The Lion King, etc. reach a more advanced age.

It is a bit interesting that Disney would use a dart gun. Guess they thought that would be
a mild way for a bunny cop to stop a larger critter for being bad or disrespectful.

It would seem from the character lineup there will be many laughable moments ahead.

I'm not sure how to feel about it tbh; personally I'm super-excited but then there's the complete haters who are all "ughh furrys will ruin it by drawing porn" (like there isn't porn in any other fandom right enough)

I'm sure everyone's seen them in the comments :/

I would have liked to believe that this was a way to prove finally that the furry fandom is just NOT like that (at least not in a whole) but the comments in the vid even when the film hasn't been released yet prove that sadly it won't be the case D:

Still, I don't doubt for one second that the people who came up with the idea must have at least had a vague idea of the furry fandom

I saw a post on Facebook, somebody already made a fursuit of the Fox from the teaser trailer. Funny part is the movie hasn't even came out yet!!!

From my past experience with Disney, I feel like this movie is really going to be hit or miss. Either it will be hilarious or downright stupid, but either way it's about furries so I will be seeing it nonetheless

looks like a good movie but it would be awkward to go there on my own (it would be even more awkward to go with my family)

the comment section is kinda annoying tho. so many people saying that this movie is directed towards furries, and/or the characters in the movie are furries.

it's unlikely that disney would make a movies directed towards furries, not to mention how they have made many movies like this in the past. yes some of the who are working on the movies are most likely relating it to furries, but thats different then the movie being directed towards us.

in my opinion anthropomorphic animals are only called furries if the creator/artist states that those character/s are furries, or if they don't mind them being considered furries. the artists' work should not be thrown into a group without them making a statement that they are fine with it.

to me there is a difference between anthropomorphic animals and furries.
-anthropomorphic animals are just animals with human characteristics/personalities just in general
-furries on the other hand have the same things above included but its only considered furry if the artists/creator states that its a furry or is fine with the label.

I'm pretty excited to see it! I loved the sloth trailer. God, that was just way too funny.

I think we'll see new furs coming in more, but who knows. I think at worst we'll see people 'becoming furry' but not really associating with the community, and they'll just kind of be done quickly. Others will stay. Kind of your usual, I guess?
