Sabrina Online has officially ended.
« on: September 16, 2016, 09:45:31 pm »
20 years ago today........well, actually yesterday, the online comic strip known as Sabrina Online was created by Eric W. Schwartz. I just got word from my best friend tonight that Eric has ended the comic........at least, on a happy note. ;) I won't spoil it here except to say you'll have to read September's strips here:
http://www.sabrina-online.com/thismonth.html

My best friend tried to get me to read the online comic long, long ago. Sadly, I didn't keep up with it as much as I should have.  :-[  :( Maybe sometime I'll have to buy the books whenever I can.

I've never heard of this comic, but I checked the wiki fur and the first few strips of the comic. I'm gonna read the whole thing only because I want to know what this ending is all about.

Aw. :(  I loved that comic so badly. It had every fun stuff I liked so much. Anyway, Eric E. Schwartz did a really great job! :)  And... does Sabrina Online really has books, Kobuk? Or did I read wrong? That sounds interesting.

There are......or were......books of the collected comic strips. But a lot of volumes are out-of-print and may be difficult to get. :(

Oh. At least you can print the strips... he says that they are 'semi-printable.' So, why not? ;)  It's a shame Sabrina Online ended. Maybe I can make a topic about the best moments of it. :)  Nevertheless, SO is not actually PG-13, so I don't know.

Rather than making a separate topic to discuss S.O., why not just continue in my thread here? It's more efficient. ;) And S.O. is not that bad when it comes to "adult stuff". Eric Schwartz has done a pretty good job on keeping the comic "tame" for younger audiences. While he does touch on some issues and topics, he does not appear to "cross the line".

I've started to re-read the comic all over again. I'm currently on October 1998 right now. There are a lot of great strips here.  :D  :D  :D

I've always thought that first strips were the best. ;)  My favourite part was Fast Forward, though. And I agree with Kobuk, Eric did very well managing the plot's topics, and applied that funny facts that often retired the entire comic from mature stuff suddenly. I always liked that, and he made that dream true.

Also, I'd like to invite people to post their favourite moments of the comic to produce some nostalgia in the topic. :)

I got up to January 2002 before I went to bed last night. I'm so addicted to the strip now, that I hope to have EVERYTHING read before bed tonight.  :D

I think I'm addicted to reading... I'm at January 2010.

Edit: I just finished it. That ending was great. Finally, I can get on to doing something else.

What an excellent idea! Is there a way to do it quickly or do I have to go through the comic again?

I like his style of strips; most are done digitally and I will miss his unique hand-drawn and written works.

I had forgotton about the comic. I was reading it when it was live
so to speak (1990's). SO is one of those things that comes along once
in a generation..

I have a hunch Eric's art style attracted almost as many readers as
the script did.. Sabrina is a very cute squirrel. Not counting some
of her friends.  :)

Skunk. Sabrina is a skunk.
Amy, her friend, was a squirrel.
Zig Zag was a skunk/white tiger hybrid.

I really need to read all the strips! I started quite awhile back but never finished. the art and the whole vibe of the comic is so charming. I'm a huge sucker for "vintage furry," so to speak.

Well it has been a few years.  :D  I should have reviewed the comic a bit. Now
that you mention it I do remember. I only looked a the one you made a link
to, and it wasn't in color. I now remember that some of the strips didn't always
show Sabrina, but one of her friends.

At the time I drew a little funny of a skunk gal using a computer. So I should have
remembered.  Here is a link to it if anyone is curious.

I think you'll have to go through the comic again.

Only the anniversary strips were in color. Such as the 100th strip, 200th strip, 300th strip, and so forth. ;)

I may try reviewing them Kobuk, but I can't see black print or thin lines on a white
background very well anymore. That's why most of my later artwork is on a
black background.

I always did like Eric's drawing style of the Subrina strips though. :orbunny:

It seems that many of the strips I followed are either on hiatus or have ceased. Sabrina Online had many wonderful well-drawn characters, but in recent months, it's been mostly the skunks and Sabrina's Transformer toys.
Someone created a ZigZag fursuit which is quite popular at cons.
"The coyote is a living, breathing allegory of Want. He is always hungry. He is always poor, out of luck, and friendless. The meanest creatures despise him. And even the fleas would dessert him for a velocipide."~Mark Twain

My my ZigZag certainly made a doll out of Subrina.. It's enough to get an old rabbits ticker
