I know vets say our pets shouldn't have certain foods, but who are we kidding? Many of us give our pets something that shouldn't be eating on the side as a special treat. (Don't feed your pets chocolate, though. That is really bad. :P)
What are some human foods your pets are in love with? My cat is addicted to pork rinds. o.o All started when my cat was still young and my grandfather left a bag of pork skins open while watching the game on tv. The doofus stuck her head in the bag, stole one and has been an addict ever since.
-
I have a Pug dog. As a breed, they are addicted to food.
-
My cat is addicted to attention. Seriously. Just like his papa <3 haha
But overall she's a nice kitty and not too much into anything.
-
My dog is addicted to sticks instead of just catching them when throw one she'll eat it as well
-
I used to have a dog that was addicted to rocks. Big, melon sized ones. She would excavate the yard searching for them.

My Sheltie's like that. Except, he prefers to eat tennis balls. And socks. And basically any fabric he can get his teeth on. And drywall...
Growing up, though, I had a cat who loved poppy seed cake above all else.
-
Mmm.
my Mother's cat likes plain bagels.
-
My dog is addicted to bread. Whenever she hears the crinkling of the bread bag opening, she wakes up from a dead sleep and runs over. Im pretty good about not giving her "people food" but she does occasionally get her slice of bread. She is also addicted to plushies. I have a furry friend staying with me this weekend and he said... dude... your dog is totally a furry! She carries a plushie around everywhere, even takes it to bed and sleeps with it! She also wears her tail 24/7... :P

One of my cats is actually addicted to purple straws. Not eating them, but she goes crazy over them, and will fetch and bring them back for you, like a dog. Its mad.

Oh god I lol'd hard. Bacon also happens to be another thing my cat is obsessed with..no, I dont tape it to her. :P
-
OR fun! You could tape it and make her famous! X3
Haha, well she's with my mum and I am about 200 miles away but I'll see if my mum can get her purple straws out (she has a big tub of loads of new ones in case she loses the ones she has lying around - which she frequently does) :P
-
My cat is addicted to anything edible. Anything and everything that she can eat, she eats, and she eats a lot of it. We have to lock her one one of the bedrooms when we eat, or she tries to jump on the table... It's crazy. She's eaten everything from salads to butternut squash.
-
My cats in general love cheese :P
-
My cats in general love cheese :P
Maybe it reminds it of milk :3
-
Same here, Bai. She also likes eggs and ewww...do not hug that cat after she eats eggs. Bad gas. :o
-
my dogs love Chicken. cant get enough of those chicken jerkey strips. too bad it was makin them sick.
one of my dogs LOVES bread. its cute seeing him eating a piece. :D
-
Well, at the moment I'd just like my dog to eat something. He's obviously still not himself since the last couple weeks. Well, he won't eat his food at the very least. Completely ignores his dry food. Tried canned food, which worked for a while, but he won't eat that now. A neighbor suggested getting Bil Jac dog food from the grocery. He ate that for a day or so, and won't eat it now.
But he -will- eat any people food we try to give him, just about. He's had bread, half a peanut butter sandwich, part of a hot dog, even a small piece of a pickle. So he's hungry, he's just not interested in any of his food anymore...
The one thing that he's always enjoyed eating though, is cardboard. He doesn't just tear it to bits, he actually eats the majority of it. He gets paper towel or toilet paper rolls the most (sometimes he digs into the bathroom trash bins for toilet paper tubes...). But he absolutely loves christmas, when he'll get a wrapping paper tube.
-
Both of our cats are addicted to popcorn even if it doesn't have butter. They just sit under the coffee table while my wife and I watch TV and beg for popcorn. We just don't have the hearts to resist giving them a few pieces.
-
One of my family's cats is addicted to ice water. He gets extremely excited every time someone uses our refrigerator's ice maker, and he always expects us to put new ice in his water bowl every time that we do. He will also go to great lengths to drink out of any person's glass with ice water in it that he can find, whether you were done with it or not! :) The funniest thing though is that once he is successful at obtaining his ice water he becomes so happy that he kneads the ground with his front paws while he drinks it!
-
Hoagiebot... do you put any funny things in your ice? X3

My first Sheltie loved ice! We'd give him an ice cube in his water bowl sometimes, and he'd dance about barking at it and swishing his tail.
-
Our dog went through an ice phase, too. We'd drop one or two in his water bowl, and he'd actually pull them out and eat them. It's kinda funny watching dogs bob for ice cubes. They make sure to breathe out through their noses when they go for it, and you get a bunch of bubbles in the water.
-

I thought it was a dog thing >>;
I'll remember that, though...
-
Don't know if it is an addiction, but my black lab chases shadows. He is the goofiest dog ever. He prefers chasing not his own, but everyone else's shadows to anything else.

One of my parent's dogs, used to be mine before I went to college, was addicted to stealing coffee, she didn't want to coffee so much as the stealing part. At one point at an off leash dog park she knocked a guy over and ran off with his coffee. The next day he was ready fo0r her so she couldn't take him of his feet, problem was that he was wearing a hat with a long dangly thing on it so she grabbed that and ran off with his hat. The guy put his coffee down so he could chase her, she waited till he was about half way between her and his coffee she then dropped his hat ran around him and took his coffee.

That is an excellent story.

Cats: Will take whatever they please, whenever they please.
-
My wife reminded me that my cat is addicted to potato chips and has been known to crawl into the bags after crumbs
-
On a side note, are there any catnip pets?
-
On a side note, are there any catnip pets?
Our cats have never been that nuts over it, oddly. Sure, they like it, but I have seen cats go nuts for it...they haven't so much. Though, what thy call Cat Grass, on the other hand...wow! She goes crazy over.
Hmm, I wonder what Kiki (the newest, youngest house cat) would do with catnip.
In general though, Bear (the older cat) is addicted to anything sweet. And chicken. Kiki is addicted to...well, meat in general.
-
I used to have a cat that was so addicted to catnip that when we planted it we eventually had to put a milk create over it to protect it from her since the first three times she ate it down to the root. Once the milk create was in place there would be days when she would lie on top of it all day simply chewing the plant as it grew, the Delta cat was c0onstantly high on the stuff.
-
Haha oh kitties. You and your catnips X3
-
My Aussie is addicted to his ball and frisbee... do those count? Oh-- and ice. Dude loves ice...
Than again, he enjoys most things I give him-- he enjoys carrots as well-- and of course he drools while waiting for his dog food.
-
That reminds me, a friend I recently met here says his dogs love tea. They go crazy for it :3
I don't know to what extent, but it seems fitting of this conversation ^^
-
My dog always tears the heads off her stuffed toys, the average lifespan of a teddy bear when in the jaws of Leela is about a day.
-
I have a greyhound that loves bread. Can't open a bag of it without him going spazmotic.
-
One of my cats is actually addicted to purple straws. Not eating them, but she goes crazy over them, and will fetch and bring them back for you, like a dog. Its mad.
Daww!
My cat does the same thing with those little safety seals they put on one-gallon milk jugs.
Also, my cat loves to treat my leg like a scratching post. :o

You need some chainmail for your poor legs :o.
-
You get used to the scratching when you love your pet that much x3
-
All my dogs absolutely love bread and my cats... they love cake. :D
-
my dog is addicted to HUGS!
-
I don't know if this is an addiction..But my dog licks the sofa, on occasion.
Nothing spilled there, and there's nothing special about it. Just..licking the sofa, for a few minutes at a time. She doesn't do it that often, but I wonder what she thinks is there..
-

-
I'm mad at my cat now...D:<
I had this mini pie I was saving for later and as I was about to eat it..I see all the whipped cream licked off!
-
:D
That's awesome, in a funny kind of way. Lol, poor mooshi though xD
-
Laser pointers...and beans. My cat just had to sample a can (empty) of Hormel chili. An open can of refried beans also had to be checked out by her.
-
http://www.abc.net.au/animals/dog_test/default.htm <------- I found the dog IQ test mentioned in hyperbole and a half.
-
That IQ test sounds funny and all but it's a bit biased on bond between master and pup. I agree that the problem solving parts might be accurate on it but it's not really reliable at all...
-
My dog's obsessed with bologna and goes to such great lengths as to try to get it from me when im eating it. She won't do that to any other food lol
-
My cat is addicted to beating up my other cat
and i'm addicted to watching it
also the other cat is addicted to getting beat up by the first cat
and they're addicted to me being addicted to watching them fulfill their addiction of one beating up the other.
It's a finely tuned oiled machine of addiction.
-
My cat is addicted to attempting to beat up my dogs... and succeding. (keep in mind that my dogs are nearly 6-8 times the size of my cat)
-
My brothers dog is addicted to everything, somedays we wonder if he is a goat ;)
We gave him a turkey dinner last christmas, the plate was cleaned in minuits!
-
Ice cubes. My cat loves ice cubes. She will just sit and cry at the freezer until I plop a couple in her water bowl.
-
Chili--My cat licks it outta the can. Also chili dog sauce. She gets vocal when the can is opened.
Had a 16-lb tomcat who would poke me in the leg at the supper table whenever I was eating something he wanted to try. Usually it was chicken, fish, or venison. He loved KFC so much that he broke the rule about hopping on the kitchen counter, to lick out an empty packing foam carton. Also hiding in boxes and spinning around to catch a leather boot lace. He would actually drag the boot lace over and motion to me to "make it go."
:)
-
I've actually never, ever given my husky any sort of food other than his dog food. He does for some reason really like my socks though. He'll pick them out of my laundry hamper and scatter then around the house.
-
My snoopy loves tissues, he'll pull them out of the box one after another and when the box is empty he starts ripping them up :/
-
my cat loves bacon bits, one time when i left the fridge open he jumped in and tore them up, (i have no clue how)!! :o
-
One of my rats will do anything for Doritos and Chocolate. I have to find new hiding places for them every time coz the sneaky boy keeps raiding my stashes >:(
He snatched a chocolate bar out my hand the other day and we ended up playing tug of war for a while.
He also likes fruit pastels apparently D=
And mangos.
And burritos.
In fact.. anything the humans in the house are eating :D
-
my old cat dusty used to sit down with me while i watched movies just so she could steal my popcorn x_x
my dog destiny used to steal chocolate all the time she loved it and never got sick(she was immune or something)
my cat delabete loves to have bolony shell jump you for your sandwich :D
-
My cats love towels. They will fight to the death and hold on for sheer life, in order to keep my bathroom towel from me.
-
Got a message from my brother, my cat has a thing for fresh strawberries. An in your face, paw the things out of your hand while meowing, kind of thing. :D
-
Our dogs will NOT EAT their food unless it has some form of human food on it. :P

Before he died our chocolate lab, Scotty was addicted to candy. You could not eat anything sugary without his snout in your face. He especially loved Twizzlers. If you were eating Twizzlers you had to be careful because he would literally come up and snatch them out of your mouth. The only thing he wasn't allowed was chocolate for obvious reasons.
He also loved cucumbers. We have a garden every summer and he'd go out and pick himself a cucumber, bring it into the house and eat it. He was a strange dog in a loveable kind of way. He died in January at the ripe old age of 18. We now have a puppy who we would swear was Scotty's son if we didn't know better. A yellow lab showed up by our house at the beginning of summer. She had obviously been dumped by some heartless person. She was skinny, with her ribs, hip and shoulderbones showing. We took her in and she turned out to be pregnant. I spent the majority of the summer caring for her and her puppies. One of the puppies was the spitting image of Scotty and like Scotty he loves candy. He has a lot of Scotty's other mannerisms as well. It's uncanny.
-
...
-
Our dogs are the same way. They especially like it when we make pizza because they know they're going to get my crust. My german shepherd has learned to come into the kitchen whenever I'm frying hamburgers because I always toss her a bit of hamburger meat.
-
My dog absolutely loves potatos...in any form & tomatos (he steals them off the vine), the cat actually begs & scratches at you at the dinner table for meat (her fav is chicken) & my rats love bagels...but they'll eat anything
-
My dog is...really, really obsessed with food. I think he spent a while as a young dog as a stray...we only got him when he was 5. =(
But more than anything he's obsessed with carrots. He really is...you hand him one and he trots off with it in his mouth, sits on his bed and just munches it. sweetest thing ever, trust me. :)
-
My dachsund, Otis, is addicted to getting in my face and not leaving until I literally have to pick him up, set him down on the other side of the house, run back to my chair, and read for a few seconds before he jumps back in my face.
My older dog, I'm not sure what breed she is, is addicted to butter, funnily enough.
-
My Shitzu [dog] is addicted to begging... anything, anytime, whatever you got, she wants
My little Russian Blue [cat] is addicted to catnip, literally, can't stop playing with her catnip toy, or leave it ANYWHERE
-
My cat, Poppy, is addicted to yoghurt (especially strawberry). And my other cat, Teddy, is addicted to rabbit and guinea pig pellet food. O_O
-
My cat Indy is a strange little thing. He's addicted to snapping his tail in your face when you try to watch TV. But he's not really "addicted" to anything!
Oh, I did have a pet fish named "Speeder" who was addicted to bullying the other fish. He bit the tails of other fish. So he's was addicted to canibalism.
-
Jacko (an African grey parrot) aka jaybird, greybird, turkeyfeathers has a few addictions---namely OMG scrambled eggs, nuts and sunflower seeds. She also is addicted to scritches...not that I mind :)
-
my kitty likes straws. no one knows why >.>
-
My cat Snip (Siamese mix with long long fluff) likes neosporin :o
We found out when he had a bad scrape from playing too rough with our other kitty (Akira the Bengal mix). He will bend over backwards to try and eat it. We end up having to just clean any wounds he has with salt water to keep him out of it.
Our dog Penny (Bichon Frise) adores carrots and apples.
My ringneck doves love nyjer aka "thistle" seed (which is too high in fat for them to have much of) and grapes cut up really fine.
-
I've actually never, ever given my husky any sort of food other than his dog food. He does for some reason really like my socks though. He'll pick them out of my laundry hamper and scatter then around the house.
Our dog loves our socks and underwear. We're pretty sure it's all about keeping the smell of the pack close to her (the pack smell seems very comforting to her.)
-
Well, he's not ours, but a neighbor's cat I watch whenever they go away, Socks, has a really strange habit. He'll take a break when eating, go to the back door and meow at me until I let him out. Now, this isn't unusual, 'cause he's (mostly) an outdoor cat. What is unusual is how he'll go out, then drink water from the pond in the back yard, and then want back in. And he'll do this multiple times while eating, while he has a fresh bowl of water right next to him, lol.
-
My tomcat Ziggy would drag out a leather boot lace and motion for me to "make it go." As I twirled the lace, he would spin around while batting away at the end. He would get dizzy and stop. Then I would reverse direction and he'd chase it in the other direction.

Pets can be so easily amused ^^
-
In warm weather, he had the run of the house. I would block the bedroom door with a pair of boots placed heel-first against the slightly ajar door. Zig would wait outside in the morning and listen. If my breathing rate changed, he would push the door open and stand on his hind legs (front paws on the bed frame) at the head of the bed. Then he would lean over and yowl loud, then louder, and louder, until I woke up and buffed him on the head. Then he would leave. His "job" was done.
-
My dog, Zoe (she's a beagle) is addicted to bacon. Anything that looks or smells like bacon she will ATTACK it!
-
My current housecat crowds me whenever a can is being opened. She thinks it's always a tin of cat food in my hand and won't be satisfied until she gets to inspect the contents.
-
I have two dogs, Bull and Dozer.
Bull is addicted to cheese puffs, and Dozer will eat anything.
-
My chihuahua is addicted to cheddar cheese. Luckily it's not something that will make her sick, so she gets it as a treat fairly often. She has this extra sense I call a 'cheese radar' and can tell when I'm about to open the cheese drawer in the refrigerator. It's hilarious how fast she'll be in the kitchen! :D
-
my dog Luna is addicted to gummies. any thing from gummie bears to sour gummie worms. i should probably stop because shes' a real spaz all by her self (:
-
rocks.....our dog is addicted to rocks.
getting to the stage where her teeth are getting a little shorter because of it :o
i arrive home...
dog: "OMG paws is home! I shall get him a rock so that I can bark at it for him."
but we went fishing out off the beach, rock hopping our way out to the farthest rock we can get to, dog follows with much wimpering at being left behind. Upon arrival, dog tries to pick up this massive boulder that we are standing on. yeah sure, it only's only part of the planet earth! :D
-
STICKS! My dog Woody (name is just a coincidence people) loves sticks. If a branch falls down, he eats through that thing faster than a fat kid with chocolate cake. I know most dogs like sticks, but my dog is crazy about them! Also snow, he loves to lick snow, but absolutely hates getting any on himself. he'll sit on the edge of the concrete and stretch out as far as he can for a morsel of frosty goodness.
-
My kitten Ninja Gary 47, is addicted to beef jerky
My dog Loki is addicted to rubber and plastic,
anything that can be chewed will be chewed I guess
-
My cat, Dark Angel, loves Olives and Olive Juice.
My other cat, Eva, loves Tomato Pasta Sauce.
Both of my cats come running anytime I make food and try their hardest to stick their faces in the way of my mouth so they can have first dibs on the food. Mostly they just paw it, sniff it, and walk away.
-
My cat, Dark Angel, loves Olives and Olive Juice.
My other cat, Eva, loves Tomato Pasta Sauce.
So that must mean they both like Italian. :D
-
My dog is addicted to me. Waits outside my room every morning for me to wake up, follows me everywhere, bounces all over the place when he sees me and spends any spare minute he has staring at me from wherever.
-
Chili. The current housecat will clean out a can of chili or hotdog sauce...after the contents have been removed.
-
My cats are addicted to Dreamies (I think they're called Temptations in other countries) :D
And catnip, of course.
-
My sister had a cat that hunted spiders in the basement. He would pile them up by his bed.
-
Both of my cats need for coffee grounds.
-
My dog is addicted to carrots.
-
My dog is addicted to being with someone. No joke if my mom leave for work before I leave fore school he sits out side my door and whimpers and paws at the door. :/ But I still LOVE him! :D
-
Ugh.....my pet is addicted to causeing pain.....He is EVIL and SADISTIC.
-
My cat is addicted to his favorite toy, a mouse toy with a noisy little bell. He actually stands outside of my room sometimes, meowing at me and wanting me to follow him to the living room and drag that toy across the floor for him. At that time, not much distracts him, except for maybe when the other cat walks past.
I found that toy yesterday. It had been missing for a while. My cat was so happy that he ran up to me and starting purring and scratching my shoe (he has a thing with scratching shoes).
-
whenever i make spageti i always give my pugle acouble meat balls

Just discovered that my cat loves casings trimmed from ham steaks.
-
Dad's cat is addicted to catnip and plastic. The dogs? Their addicted to food.
-
One of my budgies is addicted to oranges. She can eat a slice in less than a day.
-
Our dogs are addicted to treats. If they don't get one right when they need/want one, they get really hyper and start running EVERYWHERE. Bear in mind that our dogs are both about 14-15 years old in human years. We swear our dogs must be immortal or something... :D
-
My Alsation Amy is adicted to Stones.
Nothing else matters but that stone hahah
One wonders where loyalties lie XD
-
My dog, Caes, loves ice cubes. As soon as my father drops one, he'll go for one. He'll also eat tufts of his own fur (he sheds a lot) and, disgustingly enough, ear gunk. HIS OWN EAR GUNK.
I also once had a ferret who loved corks. You'd often see her running along the floor with one in her mouth.
-
My dog is addicted to: food, his own puke, cat litter, and anything else that he can swallow.
-
My dogs are addicted to bacon and basically any kind of human food that we eat. Though it is funny to see what they don't like. One of my dogs don't like corn, but will eat peas. The other one don't like peas, but will eat corn. And they both hate ketchup. My puppy will eat just about anything.
-
Chili. The current housecat will clean out a can of chili or hotdog sauce...after the contents have been removed.
Also refried beans/frijoles.
-
my cat has love for attention ( its nice but sometimes annoying). she will get on my lap and if i kick her of she will get back on and latch on with her claws so i cant take her off. also she will sneak into my room at night and take a sock then place it in some random spot in the house then sit down and meow at it for like 10 min then do it again with another sock. but only mine, no one else's'
-
My sister's second cat would drag plush toys up to the kitchen door and then sing to them. Then we would boot them back into the basement, and the cat would start the process all over again.
-
My cat, Tabby, likes being squashed!
You press down on him and he just loves it!
I love my baby, but he is so strange sometimes!
-
My cat is addicted to hunting. She spends pretty much the whole day outside, and every once in a while, sleeps there, too. If you look under the bushes near the entrance to our house, you'll see some piles of multi-colored feathers. :P I feel bad for the neighbors on the right side of the house, they have this huge birdfeeder and Wendy keeps killing all the birds. :(
-
my dog is addictided to atention and to anyone who will give it to her 8)
-
My dog has a powerful addiction to some treat bones we bought, not sure why - they don't smell awful like most of the things she likes... In my family, we now refer to them as her "crack bones", because she has to have every twelve hours or she gets really upset.
-
My cat is addicted to attention.
-
This is probably pretty weird; my dog loves wet towels. :P Whenever there's a wet towel anywhere, she runs up and starts madly rubbing herself against it.
-
My cat, Kevin, is a rather strange little guy. He loves those plastic water bottle caps, and will play fetch with me for a good half hour/45 minutes at a time.
He also enjoys helping himself to my food. He likes stealing lunch meat out of my sandwiches, but also those dried banana chips (goes nuts over those), chocolate chip cookies, and he'll lick all the frosting off of cake if I don't keep an eye on him. I can't eat in peace.
-
My cat loves boxes of any sort. If you set out boxes on the floor, he will sleep in each of them consecutively.
-
What cat doesn't like boxes? :D
-
What cat doesn't like boxes? :D
Good point. :D
-
I've recently discovered that my German shepherd has an addiction to Lay's potato chips. She's learned to recognize the bag and will get excited whenever she sees one. Once the bag is opened she will begin drooling uncontrollably and will continue to stare at me until I relent and give her a handfull.
She also has a strange addiction to marshmallows, including marshmallow peeps. It's wierd. When she was younger she turned her nose up at sugary stuff but she seems to have developed a sweet tooth in her old age.
I also used to have a rat who was addicted to Burger King fries. Of course, this was in the 90s when their fries were still good.
-
my cat is addicted to sleep
sometimes i cant tell if he’s asleep or dead (:
-
Bees. My Dalmation was addicted to bees. If we weren't careful she'd eat one, vomit because they stung her, and then go right back to eating more. Thankfully she never got any lasting damage from her bee obsession, but it still baffled me.
-
what the heck
my chickens are addicted to worms the will literally chase you wanting more. :o
-
(http://www.tamalin.org/images/puppy.JPG)
From the store... :D (:
-
I had a dog that anytime I looked out a window would beg me to pick him up
so he could see what I was looking at too. :D
-
My beardie is addicted to waxworms. They are like candy to her x3 Very fattening. She'll go nuts if she sees the yellow pot they come in and will scoff the whole lot if she isn't restricted.
-
My cat is addicted to bananas. If you have one, she'll smell it, find it, and make you give her a piece. (Or she'll come get it herself)

My 4 year old cat, "Princess" is addicted to plastic. She will dig plastic bags out of the cupboard, or anywhere that they are, and just lick them. And she holds on to them, because she knows I will get annoyed and try to take them away! ;)
My 2 month cat, "Tiny" is addicted to my piercings. She always climbs up my lap and chest to sit and chew on my earrings and facial piercings, or my belly ring if it's out. And it's not just metal, because I have wooden plugs and she chews on those too. I suspect she has a thing for coffee, because she tries to lick it off my lips when she smells it. :o

Our cat is addicted to escaping the house :o
-
Our old dog would literally open the door and lay down on your legs, he'd look down and open the door with his nose before pinning you down with his hugeness...he was a huge dog. :o but he was sweet and very smart. He'd get us sodas when we asked him and we'd share doggy treats. We both loved the light brown Milkbones but oddly enough we didn't like the green ones. :D
I miss him. :(

My cat one cat is addicted to...well me. Everywhere I go he follows me down the stairs, to the bathroom, in the bed, to the shower, everywhere. If I go to the bathroom he will paw at the door until I let him in. And my other cat is addicted to my dog let them out and the cat follows the dog everywhere he goes and won't leave him.
-
My dog is addicted to finding inconvenient places to curl up and sleep and locking him self in closed rooms looking for such places.....
-
My dog is addicted to cheese. He always knows when someone has it and even recognizes the sound of certain wrappers being opened, like string cheese wrappers. He'll drop what he's doing as soon as he hears it and come running over.
-
My cat really likes lettuce? He steals it when he can. He's the weirdest big guy ever and has such crazy quirks.
On top of stealing lettuce, he steals earbuds, wires, chopsticks, pens, HAIRTIES and anything resembling them, and tries to steal anything shiny or long. Ferret cat.
He was an abandoned cat in a park across town which we came across while looking for our other missing cats. I put up notices to see if he belonged to anybody, but nobody claimed him. He doesn't really read cat body language so much as human language, so I feel he was raised as a young kitten by people. Poor guy, but he's happy and not hungry now. :D

I had a dog once that was always finding snuggly warm places to sleep. One morning she
appeared to be gone. After some looking I found the end of her muzzle bearly sticking out of
the cuff of a coat sleeve. She had tried to crawl through it and was stuck. I picked up the sleeve
and out she slid, glad to be free. She never did that again. At least crawling into a
coat sleeve. :D

Hehe. When I was younger, the family dog was a huge fan of yogurt. Mostly we purchased the kind that came in the tall cylindrical plastic containers, so at some point she found one and managed to get it stuck to her bottom jaw and could not get it off. Nobody noticed until somebody observed: "hey, why is the dog walking around with a yogurt can stuck to her face?" She looked really ashamed, as she usually did when scolded for stealing trash, but we though it was so funny that we just laughed for hours.

my cat is addicted to cat nip
he'll follow you any were with it
-
The local cottontails love apples. So I indulge them from time to time. They sometimes photobomb my backyard trailcam.
-
I'm not 100% sure if this thread is gravedigging, but what the heck. My cat LOVES to eat and pick the artificial snow off my christmas tree. No matter what I do, he just won't stop. I'm not sure if he's eating it, given he doesn't seem to get sick, but half the tree's green and the other half is still white.
-
Our dog is addicted to eating her own fur (she sheds little clumps in the summer, and she will literally steal them from your hand when you're trying to brush her), and also I accidentally made her love whipped cream. >.>' She comes running every time I use one of those canned whipped cream things. I've tried to get her to hold still so I can squirt some on her nose, but she won't do it. >.>'

Strawberries. Apparently, the greens are an analogue for catnip. She doesn't eat it, just kind of bats it around and acts thrilled overall (:
Also, refried beans. Absolutely loves the stuff. Less surprisingly: Bacon. Doesn't seem to enjoy the act of chewing cheese.
-
Years ago we had a cat who, in addition to the usual feline addictions of tuna and catnip, loved tomato juice. Weird.
Cats are inscrutable.
-
My guinea pig will do anything for parsley. She'll even do tricks like a dog XD
-
My tomcat spent his first Christmas sleeping in the Christmas tree. In later years, he would sleep under it. The was a squirrel ornament he would always find, remove, and play with.
-
:goldbloody:...the taste of living squirrels! :goldbloody:
Seriously, she likes killing and eating things that are small, fast, and furry.
-
My dog is addicted to chinchilla poop. Anything she kicks out, he cleans up. It works out!
-
My baby doesn't really go for people food (though he often gets confused about the fact that my sister is eating something other than cat food, like... why?), but he does overeat when we don't carefully monitor his diet. And he always thinks he wants things that smell spicy, but he doesn't actually like the taste. The worst thing with him is that he's addicted to plastic. He's always stealing garbage that we've got to wrestle away from him.
The other cat in the family, though... he's pretty omnivorous, and he'll steal right off your plate if he gets the chance (and he tries to drink coffees and teas if you don't watch your cups). His favorites include string cheese, yogurt (unless it has artificial sweeteners), oatmeal (the chewy bits, not just the milk at the bottom of the bowl-- when he was a kitten, my dad spoiled him by letting him just lick up anything that wasn't poisonous to him, and since he's not predisposed to weight gain or health problems in general, it hasn't done him much harm-- if anything, we think he's going to be one of those thirty year old cats that people can't believe is still running around like a kitten), and vegetables! He likes cooked carrots and green beans all right, he doesn't care about corn niblets, but loooves the cob, he used to scrape artichoke leaves with his teeth like a person, and his favorite is asparagus.
The only real problem with him is that he steals food you're trying to eat, and that he goes for food that makes him gassy and then he goes to cuddle with you for comfort because his tummy is upset and he has no idea WHY. And then he produces powerful odors.
-

-
The vixen who visits my backyard nightly loves marshmallows.
-
My cat loves cheese curls, for some reason. Not that I disagree with her.

There's a joke around my family that my dog is addicted to crack because of her spastic behavior. One day, I came home and found white powder all over my stairs and the first thing that came out of my mouth was, "Ada! Did you spill your crack?" She wagged her tail.
