Sometimes when I'm bored I eat some dog food.
Anybody else do stuff like that?
-
Do you know the ingrediants that makes up pet food? Kinda makes me sick just thinking about it. :P A lot of that stuff shouldn't be fit for human consumption.
-
Once my parents were away and my uncle let me eat a dog bone. He says he thought I was joking when I said I wanted to try it.
-
Once when there was no food left in the house and we had no cash for groceries i ate a can of 9 lives "sliced chicken in gravy" it wasn't too bad actually.
-
LOL! Is this from the IRC?
Well, I'll answer this question the same way the original conversation started.
"I've had a doggy treat before. It didn't taste much like doggy at all >:(."
-
Nooo...but when I read this, I looked over at my fish tank in my room... :o
-
While I could possibly see considering eating dog or cat food, particularly the more fancy kinds. But fish food... No way. That stuff smells horrible.
-
The only thing I have had was a Scooby Snack dog treat when I was little. It tasted like pizza crust...realy burnt, dry, stale, pizza crust.
-
Does what you get at the local gas station's "hot case" count? :D
-
I have tasted (long ago, when I was a silly kid) dry dog food and cat food. And when we had chickens I tried the chicken feed. Won't do it again either... :P
-
When I was little, I got spanked because I kept eating the Meow Mix. It seems that I loved the stuff.
=^^="

When my daughter started crawling, the first thing she did was head for the bowl of dog food. She looked so triumphant, like she'd known all along that she didn't really need parents taking care of her and would be better off foraging for herself in the wilds of the kitchen floor. Myself, however, I've never actually eaten dog or cat food. Though, I did notice when my Bengal cat went through a phase where she refused to eat anything but cans of tuna and containers of tuna based cat food that actually cost more than cans of tuna that some of those super fancy cat foods looked awfully close to fancy seafood spreads that would be really good on crackers.
-

fixed (:

"Meat byproducts"? :o I don't think I want to know what that is!
-
I had this black lab as a kid and sometimes we share biscuits...D: Would call them Scooby snacks.
-
Ive eaten dog food before. Dog food is dry and stale and has a BAD after taste. Dog treats just taste like bread. >.<
Still doesn't stop me from eating them. :D
-
"Meat byproducts"? :o I don't think I want to know what that is!
That's also an ingredient of, "Lunchables."

Problem, nutritionists?

Wait, does raw salmon count?
-
I ate a dog treat a long time ago to cheer up my brother when he was down... it wasn't that bad, but then again... anything that tastes like dirt doesn't hit high on the likeness scale does it?
-
"I've had a doggy treat before. It didn't taste much like doggy at all >:(."
No, they don't. Dog is a LOT tastier, especially the way some of the Koreans cook it.
Don't ask how I know...

As for eating non human food... When I was like... 10? |D
Dry cat food and all that stuff. In my head I remember loving it, but I tried it again last year, kinda for a dare and it's like... Uh... Gross. :c
-
Hmm well I eat the stuff my dogs do on a pretty regular basis, but that's because it's basically a soup with stuff that's good for the both of us. Not to terribly expensive either still not as cheap as a bag of dog food.
-
Do you know the ingrediants that makes up pet food? Kinda makes me sick just thinking about it. :P A lot of that stuff shouldn't be fit for human consumption.
Most of it isn't fit for animal consumption, either.
And no. No I have not.
-
I really don't see the slightest reason why you would want to do this. :P
-
For a while, my mom was buying and cooking up pork loins for her aged Greyhound. She'd put chunks of the pork loin and cottage cheese on top of the dog food to convince her Greyhound to eat it. So, in the sense that high quality pork and cottage cheese are dog food... Well, I have eaten that. And it was pretty delicious.
-
I was at a con in suit, can't remember which one (think MFF 08) and in the con suite, there was a bowl out of what I thought was dog-biscuit shaped cookies. I thought, "Oh cute", grabbed one, and popped it in my mouth.
GROSS! It was actually a REAL dog biscuit.
I dunno how people can eat them for real, this was rather disgusting-tasting.
-
My friends and I were playing Bean Boozled yesterday.
They are these jelly beans from the jelly bean company, and in each pack there are a selecion of colours.
Each colour can be one of two flavours, one nice one, and one horrible one.
For example Strawberry jam flavour and centipede flavour looked precisely the same.
The brown one was either chocolate pudding or dog food.
Dog food was by far the most disgusting tasting bean out of all of them, it was seriously making everyone around the table wretch. Even the people that weren't eating the jelly bean at the time. xD
I was the first to land on the brown bean and get the dogfood flavoured bean, and I felt like I was going to throw up, and my friend said he could smell my dog breath.
It was horrible. :C
How can people eat dog food? xD
-
I use to eat milk bones which (at the time) didn't taste bad ^^;
I have had dog food slipped into my coco puffs serial before too...surprisingly spicy.
-
Some dog treats thats about it though.
-
fish food a couple years ago
it was salty :D
-
As a kid I tried dog food, not to bad but I dont think I would eat it again now that I am older. Though it might be better then some of the stuff I eat now.
Last year at work a bag of deer feed ripped open, some of the guys I worked with and I tried it. I was pretty good, tasted like "grape nuts" (A health food cereal). I would try it again if offered but I would need some milk this time XD
-
Oh my goodness, yes.
I used to eat bird food and cat food. Never tried dog food though.
The corn and thistle seed people feed to birds isn't half bad.
I've also eaten things that should never be eaten by anyone. For example, raw fish innards and silkworm larva, and the boogers made me sick for a few days. Be careful what you eat when you go abroad.
-
I've sampled dry dog food, dog biscuits, and wet/dry cat food, if only out of curiosity.
The wet cat food reminded me of Vienna Sausages... the dry stuff was "meh"
-
As a kid, I would always eat dog kibbles when I was bored. They tasted kinda good actually, kinda like stale bread/crackers.
I haven't eaten anything recently, but boy oh boy... the local petsmart has one of those big open treat displays. You know the kind, the one with the fancy treats, the ones that look (and smell!!) like oatmeal cookies, or those sandwitch-cream cookies, or graham crackers...
I have been temped to grab one and eat it on more than one occasion. The only problem is that the display is right next to the cash registers, in plain sight of anyone checking out.
Eventually, though...
-
Even before I became a furry x3 You know, curious cats!
-
Related to bird food in Gigi's post...I forgot about sunflower seeds. I'll often munch on those, the salted kind you would get at a convenient store or something.
-
Well, I have eaten Beggin' Strips before and they were.. not great... but it's not like most dog food that makes you puke. :)
~Star Collie
-
I ate a cheese flavored dog biscuit once. I think I'm sticking with Cheese Nips.
-
Please stop doing this, people. Some of you are going to be poorly. :o
-
When I was five I tried out cat food. I vaguely remember it tasting like crutons... :P
-
My dad told that eating dog food was bad for you. Later I learned that it's only hatmful if you east it ona regular basis, but I still didn't want to try it, it still smelled bad.
The most I did with eating the same food as animals was when I share my sunflower seeds with my bird.
-
All non-human food really is is byproducts of people food. That's why all those fancy feast commercials make me laugh :D
-
my dad used to eat dog biscuits like popcorn. :D
as for me, i never did. im curious, yes, but not that willing to try. except carob; its actually doggy chocolate that you can eat as well.
-
Nope, I never have. I don't plan on eating it any time soon either. It's not meant for humans, so theres probably stuff in there that I shouldn't have in my system.
-
When I was little I would milk bone dog treats :-[
-
Um...yeah actually.
As a kid...I used to eat leaves straight off the tree (yeah I know...not smart)
Dog food, dog treats....and parrot kibble...but to be fair I always taste test the food of other animals living with me to make sure its ok.
Don't even ask me about the other things I've eaten/tasted in a furry impulse lol.
-
Yes i have in fact the best taco stand i ever at at used allpo insted of ground beef (now i want an alppo burito) :D
-
I've tried milk bone when I was younger, there were a couple flavors
that were worth sampling.
When I first moved out here to Colorado, I was staying with my Father,
until I got a place, my stepmom told me I could have anything in the fridge.
So a few nights later she came home from work and I was eating some beef stew
it had carrots, peas, celery, beef. everything was cut rather small. she asked me how
it was, I told her it was really good, and she responds, "I always wondered how it was,
because that's the dog's food" :-[
I'm pretty sure it's this stuff Beneful (http://icheapreviews.com/images/Beneful-Dog-Food-Prepared-Meals-Beef-Stew-Dog-Food-10Ounce_41y3onSkuhL._300_300.jpg) but she was keeping it in a regular tuperware bowl
-
I have tried somekind of rodent treats, if I remember correctly it was yoghurt drops (bought for my pet rat).
Those were really good.
-
Yes, dry cat food. Use to take a peice or too when I was a kid and feeding my cat. It taisted good.
I was working for cabletron in NH for a short time many years ago and there were a couple engineers who did not really get along. I dont know why but one dared the other to eat a can of cat food and layed fifty dollars down on it.
The other engineer went out and bought a can and brought it back. We all watched in the lab as he ate the whole can. He got his money.
-
...
-
in high school i tried cat food both wet & dry, along with cat nip. i didn't enjoy it lols
-
Dog biscuits. That and I eat meat as Raw as health code will let it be without it running away from my knife.
-
i tried a dog treat that my old dog loved and it tasted like old leathery bacon. :P
-
I’ve had Milk-Bones a few times when I was younger, there actually not that bad. (:
-
Sometimes, when Im in the mood,I eat rawhide. At times it taste good and others taste bad. I ate rat food too. Anit so bad ethier...acyully the after taste is TERRIBLE!! :P
-
I have never eaten a human in my entire life.
Oh wait,There was that one time... I best save that story for the adult section.
-

Lost cause - the thread is asking about non-humans ;)
I have eaten non-humans plenty of times in my life... like the ever elusive fruit known as a peach that somehow never manages to be in stock when you want one. :P
-

I have eaten non-humans plenty of times in my life... like the ever elusive fruit known as a peach that somehow never manages to be in stock when you want one. :P
Avan - the thread is asking about food of non-humans ;)
In particular, stuff that humans normally don't eat but expect our non-human companions to eat.
-
yeah, I knew that but I was playing a joke off of lost cause's joke
-
I honestly had a friend that would eat pigs ears. No lie, I caught him eating one, one day, he said he really liked them.
I, however, would never, ever do that. Again.
-
i used to share my cats food(til i got caught)
dry food only, dog food too
id nibble on biscuits(got caught here too)
does bird food count too x_x
-
I eat my dogs bacon treats..... :-[
-
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but this one looked so fun that I had to. (:
For as long as I can remember I've munched on pieces of hay every now and again (I have horses) and this was years before I even knew what a furry was. A few years back we switched from hay to these solid hay pellets and these other nutrient pellets called "senior feed"...sometimes i snag a few pellets here and there. Herbivore food is boring though :P
-
I eat non-human food all the time. I'm not a cannibal! :D
But yes, I have eaten food not meant for humans. I think every kid with a dog in the house has tried a MilkBone. I kinda liked them, although they tended to be quite dry. As for wet dogfood, no, that's too raw for my taste and probably too raw to be healthy for a human anyway.
-
I've eaten both dog food and cat food and if I'm remembering correctly I actually liked the taste of some of those gaines burger things.
-
8)i think im gonna go try it!!! ;wish me luck!!! ;)
-
:) i tried it and it was pretty good but the thought of it almost made me throw up :P
-
The idea of eating pet feed makes me want to vomit everywhere.
But is kibble all that counts? Because even though I wouldn't eat that, I eat raw meat and raw eggs on a regular basis, and eat all kinds of animal parts that a lot of people don't seem to like. For example, the other day I got to eat an abalone liver, and it was awesome.
(Yes as a mollusk abalones probably don't have actual livers, but this was probably the part of the creature that functioned the same way a liver would normally, as it had that iron-rich, dense, spongey taste. Yum! :))
-
I've eaten cat and dog biscuits before. They didn't have much taste, so I'm not really interested.
-
When I was little, about 5-ish, I tried eating my cats' biscuits on several occasions. I wasn't sure what to make of them at first. I liked the saltiness but some of the other ingredients tasted very strange indeed. So I kept trying them til I made up my mind that...yes, they tasted bad to humans. Lol. Also, I didn't want to take food away from my cats. XD
The other animal food I have eaten is when I used to ride horses and we would make this meal for them called 'Mash' in winter in a big feed bucket. It smelled heavenly, was warm and kind of like a gruel for them with extra vitamins and minerals. It contains things like chaff and oats, if I remember correctly. On several occasions I tried some of that but it didn't taste nearly as nice as it smelled. I also tried the little pellets we used to feed them. Hee hee.
-
I used to eat those milk hamster treats when I was little.. they just tasted so good ;.;
Don't think I would now though :P
-
Ive eat Hay , but not too often, um theres also berry goods which r horse treats.
-
My cat and I shared a can of tuna earlier this evening.
-
I ate a Doggy biscuit. :o :P
-
I sometimes eat milk bones.. They're just like fat crackers.
-
I sometimes eat milk bones.. They're just like fat crackers.
What are fat crackers?
-
I sometimes eat milk bones.. They're just like fat crackers.
Tried one of those once when I was watching a friend's dog, out of sheer curiosity. Tasted like a cross between a really heavy wheat cracker and an overly-stale biscuit (think hardtack but without the gross factor and almost as much hardness, not that I've ever had hardtack). Wasn't that bad, but I don't think I'll be reaching for another any time soon.

Ration snacks lol. I bet they'd be better topped with whipped cream or dunked in chocolate syrup. :"D
What are fat crackers?
lol like a cracker, just chubbier. They kind of look like thick crackers no? ^^
-
I tried "kibble", a brand of dog food once, and vomited on my radio (o.O).
I tried bird seed, and actually, it wasnt that bad xD, but not as good as human food. Far off.
-
i ate cat food once :D
not so bad the second time!
BTW i once at one of my goldfish XD
poor thing.
-
Fish food...cat food...guinea pig food...mmm..whats next..I'm still hungry.
-
I sneak my dog's treats all the time. :D I know it's probably not healthy but they taste so good! :)
-
I've tried little bits of pet food sometimes just out of curiosity as to what exactly I'm giving them. Mostly it's nothing special nor particularly disgusting, but having said that, if I were a cat I'd demand that stuff be heated up before eating it. Cold cat food is just... bleh.
-
.
-
one day i got bored and i was chillen with my friends so i got a dog treat and ate it. after a minute i slowed chewing and spit it out. it tasted like burned leather that was left in the mud for a week. i will never ever eat dog food or treats again.
-
Yeah!...O.O; (waybeforeIknewabourFurrylol) I tried a kibble of dog food xD I dun remember what it was. I tried Meow Mix. A Milk Bone xD ...THAT was like pretty dry ;x! I've eaten Fish Food LOL, those little flakes...from what I remember o.O I liked that. I've also eaten a hamster treat...dun remember what it was called o.< but it was made out of peanut butter and had random seeds over it, that was like really crunchy lol but it was okay. Annnd I've tried a Beggin' Strip once ... ;x those ...do NOT taste like "bacon" lol ;-; and I was sad to find that out...haha. But oddly enough, since after I found out I'm a Furry, I don't really do that stuffs anymore o-o;! Or maybe it was a year before that even, or well xD I guess it was just a random phase.
-
This is going to sound really awkward, but i need your help finding a specific dog treat. :-[ They look like those cookies that are choclate on one side and vanilla on the other, with cream in the middle. They are really good, and a lot healthier than the actual cookies. I cant rememer what they are called.
-

I've merged your post above which was originally a seperate thread in General Furry Discussion, to this current thread, as both are talking about non-human food and this older longer thread can still be continued.
-
Okay, thanks Kobuk! Like I said above, I REALLY like these dog treats. Cant find them though...darn :( :D
-
I've eaten Dog food (both wet and dry), cat food (dry), and fish food. I thought they all tasted delicious! :D And I've been eyeing the bunny and hamster treats they sell in Petsmart... (:
-
some of Gracie's tinned food smells rather tempting... but no. I have enough trouble digesting "people food", I'm not about to try digesting something not designed for human consumption. And the texture is a major turn off.
-

I work at a petco, and I know we have something like that, but vanilla cookie on both sides. We also have these cookies that are made with carob chips and look exactly like chocolate chip cookies. All the cookies in the treat bar regardless are made in a human-quality food factory with human-quality ingredients, but those two are the best to snack on. They're sweetened :D. It's fun to mess with customers by grabbing one and eating it. I've gotten a few to try them after showing them the ingredient list. It's funny.
-
I had a beggin' strip before - it does NOT taste like bacon. :(
-
I've had dog chocolate before, but I don't think that counts. It's just chocolate made safe for consumption by dogs. It didn't taste half bad either :)
-
-Hiiro decided that fish food can be quite delectable.-
-
cat food (the canned variety) on more than one occasion. Not bad, but I wouldn't trade a steak for it.
-
I have crossed the line! At RMFC, someone I know brought dog treats to the headless lounge. They were not that bad, but not that good either. :D
-
I eat cat food... X3 I don't even own a cat! But my fursona is a cat so... i think it feels right,=. AND it tastes good.
-
Uh, only if Taco Bell counts. I thought some of their meat was dog food grade. :P
-
I would eat Clovers and a certain type of special blade of grass.
-
I would eat Clovers and a certain type of special blade of grass.
My pet rat Charlie loved clovers. He used to eat and roll around in those constantly. (:
I have tried dandelion leaves once, when I was a kid. Not half bad, really. :-[ Other than that, no, I don't eat strictly non human food.
-
Most good pet food is made to fit the animals digestive needs. Some
dry dog treats are good for their teeth.
The only food I eat is what works for me. If pets like it that's fine too. :D
-
All of my food is non-human. I am not a cannibal.
-
lol, me too
-
does herbal medicinal tea count? i make it myself, and btw dandelion leaves are very highly nutrition, i frequently put them in my occasional salad , if this does not count then i have eaten a milkbone and mcdonalds
-
Rawhide bones and bacon strips. (But the store bran of bacon strips not name bran.) Rawhide is better because it has no taste. With the bacon strips that was kinda like eating soggy cardboard with a hit of a bacon taste, but I just had to try it because it smelled good.
-
I ate a hermit-crab cookie (yep, a cookie for hermit crabs) and it wasn't that bad... until I looked at the ingredience... :goldbloody:
-
peanut butter flavored dog biskits on a dare (not to bad taisted like stale cookie)
-
I ate my ferret's food once... Ugh... Never again. It was horrid. I spit it out into the nearest thing I could, which was a piece of duct tape, and went to brush my teeth, get a drink, and eat a banana. Even after all that, I could still taste it a bit. The box just made it sound so delicious, I had to try it. I think I've learned my lesson.
I've also eaten clovers, which are okay, they're just...grassy. There were also these little purple flowers that were always in the yard, those tasted so good and sweet.
-
Pretty sure I've eaten that ice cream stuff for dogs...
-
When I was little I tried a dog treat. Also, back before I went vegetarian, I tried something called "corned beef". That stuff smells like canned cat food or dog food.
I'd like to try catnip tea someday. I keep forgetting to buy some. That stuff is supposed to have a relaxing effect on humans.
peanut butter flavored dog biskits on a dare (not to bad taisted like stale cookie)
I've seen those peanut butter cookies for dogs in the pet food aisle before. I'm going to compare prices some time and see which is cheaper, the peanut butter cookies for dogs or the peanut butter cookies in the snack food aisle.
-
^Mmm, corned beef. Love it, haven't had it in ages.
My sister recently tried some Ferretvite, which is a vitamin paste for ferrets. She said it was bad and tasted like Vaseline. I don't know what Vaseline tastes like, but apparently it is not good. I also tried one of their soft peanut butter treats, which have an interesting, kinda-good smell...it also tastes just like it smells, but much worse, and the texture doesn't help either.
-
Vitamin paste... yeah, that doesn't seem like the most appetizing thing in the world. I imagine it tasting something like how a pill tastes if you don't swallow it fast enough and it starts to dissolve. Blech!
-
I've never eaten dog or cat food, but once when I was little I lapped water out of a dog bowl (:
-
I'm pretty sure sushi and sashimi can be qualified as fish bait or chum XD But I still love them. I have tried dog food once. It was bad. And those Beggin' Strips? Taste just like bacon, but a little softer.
-
I tried dog biscuts when i was little, nearly ate the whole bag! :-[
-
In reality, no, but my brother loved dog chocolates when we were younger.
-
I tried eating dog biscuts when I was like 12 once. They didn't taste too bad actually. I've also chewed on dry dog food and it's stale as hell. It's no wonder dogs beg for human food =P.
But I don't wanna know what's in canned dog food though O_o. Though if you had to survive, you'd have to pull a Mad Max and eat what you gotta eat.
-
In reality, no, but my brother loved dog chocolates when we were younger.
Lots of humans love "dog chocolate", especially those who are allergic to the genuine deal. :) It's called "Karo Chocolate", and can be found at most baking stores.
-
I ate my cat's wet food once, to get back at her. Took a bite, and thought it would be great with heat. And spices. Oh, it tasted okay.
But I'm not trying it again. Got SO sck because of it >.<'
-
I tried a rawhide bone before o-o just a nibble.. o-o it was weird.. xD never again.
I also tried bird sunflower seeds.. XD but I dont think that counts o-o
hmmm....
I used to drink out of the dog water bowl when I was like 6 XD
I think that is it o-o XD
-
First of all, thank you to Arlese next time I go to petco, I will look. Might check petsmart too... But anyway, I have eaten scorpions (they tasted like a piece of skin from a mccnugget, which frankly scares me :o ) I have also tried the canned dog food, but I microwaved it (it tsasted really good, I think it was pedigree) but that was on a dare from my cousin. I have cats, but I have never tried cat food. It smells really bad if its dry, and the wet stuff just looks... alive... or like spam, which is definatly a human food (it has people in it) I have tried the seeds my agriscience tesacher feeds his rabbitm, and they were really good, but nneeded salt, or peanut butter. And I have tried a peanut butter dog bone, which tasted like a stale nutterbutter.
-
yes, i haveeaten at mc donalds
-
Yeah, when I was young (maybe about 4), a couple times as my parents were carrying in the groceries I would get down on all fours and eat some of my cat's dry food out of her bowl! I recall it actually tasted quite good... I got caught but my parents didn't make me stop. I stopped eating it eventually.
Also, when I was about that same age, my mom would poor me a bowl of cereal for breakfast (without milk) and eat it on the floor like a cat. :D
-
yes, i haveeaten at mc donalds
Ha! :D
-
I ate bird seeds/bird food pellets when I was little and playing with my bird.
-
Tried dog food once (bear in mind, we were veeery young.) We still wish we could feed them table stuffs instead of that. *shudders* x_x
-
Do you know the ingrediants that makes up pet food? Kinda makes me sick just thinking about it. :P A lot of that stuff shouldn't be fit for human consumption.
That's debatable Kobuk, as we get rather high quality pet food for our dogs, and honestly the ingredients list don't sound all that bad.
-
When I was little I ate dog biscuit, more specifically 'Scooby snacks'
One time my sister shoved a piece of dry cat food in my mouth........ :-[
-
yes, i haveeaten at mc donalds
Ha! :D
glad to see someone appreciates my humor (:
also i have actually, i once ate cat food (salty and bland), fish food (blegh..just blegh), rabbit food (odd, not really able to describe the flavor though, and i have eaten raw meat (yay for epic immune system and not getting sick)
-
I did, once. It was a couple days after we got my Yellow Labrador in May of 2008, my older brother who was 23 at time convinced me to try a piece of Blue Buffalo dog food.
If it was the only food around would I eat it? Yes. Would I eat it every time I got the chance to? Heck no!
-
I would never eat animal food, although one time my sister ate a little bit of guinea pig feed.
-
I eat what my parents raised me on (now a pesco-vegetarian diet).
My stomach has adjusted to that.
In fear of being ill (I have quite a sensitive immune system) I would not try non-human food.
Even my mom's dog and cats seem to prefer human food.
I recall that I did try a dog biscuit once when I was younger and for something given to a carnivorously inclined animal it sure tasted more spicy than meaty... And wet meat is just seemingly... Low quality to me.
Really, meat for animals should/would be the same as meat for humans, because, after all, meat in its rawest form is fundamentally from a dead creature.
As for vegetation, I have had the urge to eat grass for idk what reason (I mean I'm a therian to carnivorous species), I found it quite bitter.
-
I have never eaten any dog or cat food... just....no... dogs always have a terrible breath, I used to believe that it was somehow connected. But I recall it seemed tempting whenever I thought about it. With the right motivation I might try CAT food.
-
I vaguely remember eating Milk Bones all the time as a kid. Those dog treats. I didn't like the green ones though. :o Oddly enough...my mother approved of it... (: crazy lady...I still do when I can...thats not weird at all. 8)

Please tell me your referring to /dry/ cat food and not /wet/ cat food... ... ... sorry but wet cat food is just fowl in my opinion v.v
-
Oh yes, I tried some doggy treats. They tasted fine.
My dog have raw meat diet and vegetables, so he doesn't eat dry dog food :)
-
I have eaten Milk Bones on occasion
-
I love those new gravy biscuit things...
-
I've eaten my horse's sweet feed...not bad actually
Duck
-
nope don't think i ever did....
-
My sister bought our dog some peanut butter flavored treats once. He didn't seem to much care for them, so I thought I'd try one for myself just to see what he was so disgusted about.
I quickly came to understand. Smelled like peanut butter, yes. Did not taste like peanut butter.
-
When me and my sister where younger we ate dog and I think cat food... x_x
And a few days ago my sister tried some of my guinea pigs pellet food.
-
Ate a bit of fish food a bit ago.
Wasn't bad, but not something I'd like to eat again. (Any time soon, at least)
-
Goldfish food flakes...
-
i would think this topic may be a little over the top but does smoked fish cheese cured meat, salted meat and berries count out of curiosity ;)

Well, I sometimes feed my dog those things even though I don't like them, so maybe? ;)
-
In fact, yes. I took one of those TetraMin food things and ate the whole thing in 1 minute, tasted like plastic. I could live with it, but not the best food.
-
nope. Don't think I have.
-
I tried dried dog food, and it wasn't that bad, if I was hungry and had no food it would be my first choice.
-
Nope, not too keen to either! :D
-
yep. school food :)
-
School food is just a step above what they give to cats.
-
I would certainly say most of the food I eat is not humans. o.o;
I myself am partial to fish, cows, and deer. :o
-
Eaten, no, but I purposely open a dog treat bag to smell the extreme bacony smell. The fact that my fursona is a dog doesn't help matters much.
-
When I was a young kid apparently I would nibble on dog treats. I seem to have liked it well enough then. Not so sure about now.
-
I'd consider rabbit to be non-human food. So yea... I guess I have since my dad made me try some rabbit once. (I didn't like it)

i thought it tasted good
but if that counts then i eats elk meat from time to time
its so bloody tasty :goldbloody:
-
No, but occasionally, my non furry brother eats a few pieces of my dog's food.
-
I have eaten a raw beef recipe called tiger meat. I tried a few bits of a batch I made. I would have eaten more but since I really didn't trust myself to make it and the salmanila factor I made the rest into a hamburger. If i can get to a chef that makes it or another raw beef recipe I would love to eat more of it.
-
I never tried it and don't think it's a good idea. Pets need different food than humans and vice versa. I wouldn't eat anything like that unless I am near to dying from hunger. One can feel like an animal inside, but outside still has a human body and needs.
-
I have on occasion been so hungry I've considered eating my pet's food.
Considering one pet eats dead mice and the other eats insects, that's pretty damn hungry.
Although I found a recipe online for mealworm burgers, and they are apparently quite nice.
-
I've eaten rabbit food. It was alright actually, not something I'd eat on a day to day basis but I'd definitely eat it if I had too.
-
When I was a kid, my best friend and I tried dog biscuits.
-
I've tried guinea pig food, parakeet food and horse food xP
I've always been a little too curious for my own good, and for as long as something doesn't look or smell too bad I might actually end up tasting it xP
I once also accidentally licked a table knife someone had used to get the cat food out of the can with >->' That one doesn't count tho since I didn't eat any cat food and I don't plan on ever doing it either xD
-
I tried a mealworm once... it wasn't too bad, but I'm not sure that counts, as they actually ARE fit for human consumption.
I've also tried dog biscuits (bland, crunchy, boring), and a scorpion (tastes like fish food smells)...
-
Once I ate some dog food and once tried to eat a dog treat
-
I find these statistics alarming
I may be a furry, but I would never eat dog food
I am still human
-
Scorpion(extra burnt toast) and Roasted Mealworms(Bacon Crisps). :D
-
Fish food ain't half bad neither.
-
From the main page, for me this thread's title reads "Ever eat non-human...". Um... you have ate human?
Seriously though, it's been a long time since I've ever done anything like that, but I have smelled and tasted some foods that are labeled as for other animals. However, on the rare occasions when I have done things like that, it was always in very small quantities.
-

And if you are human, then curiosity has gotten the better of you at some point in the past, has it not? Nobody ever said eating animal food was a good idea after all! :D
-
I can remember sucking on dog treats when I was a lot younger because they had a funny-tasting coating around them...
I don't think I would ever eat animal food by choice today, though :D
-
I wouldn't even feed most brands to my dogs.
-
Lol, no...maybe....*sigh* Yes :D
-
I've ate dry dog food before. It had an interesting taste. But I wouldn't eat it again. :P
-
I haven't eaten any non-human food, unless you count deviled ham, spam, vienna sausages, or hormel chili. Which probably does count, now that I think about it.
-
I tried a little dog treat once. >.>' It pretty much went like this:

I was at my nephews house, and they had a bag of "Chicken Jerky". Despite the dogs on the cover, I think chicken jerky sounds good. However, they don't smell good, so I didn't try one. Otherwise I would have thought about it.
-
Watch the chicken jerky. If it's from China there's a good chance it could poison your pets. We strongly recommend getting made in the US dog treats because China doesn't have as many restrictions as we do here.
I was munching on some beef jerky that a client brought in with his dog. My coworkers got a kick out of it, but it really was good! I'll have to ask where he got it
-
Tried some pig ears. Chewy.

When I was little I once ate cat food. I'm not inclined to eat any more.
-
I read somewhere that it's actually some people's jobs to test out pet food by eating samples of it. :/
-
Back years ago, I tried dog food. Twice. I don't plan on doing it a third time.
