Furry Cookout/Campout in Virginia
« on: June 04, 2005, 05:00:06 pm »
I posted this in Virginia is for Furries for everyone who lives here in Va, but I want to extend the invite to any Furtopian who wants to attend.

I've been discussing with a few others having a big get-together here at the house, a cookout at least and a campout/furfest for those interested. I've got some room in the house, two camper trailers- one sleeps 4 to 5 and the other will hold 7 or 8, and lots of room for tents for anyone who drives a ways and wants to stay the night (or two). There is 45 acres behind me for hiking, fishing and camping at the river (a big creek) and if there enough interest maybe a fursuit headbuilding workshop and other things. Anyone interested?

No date has been decided yet, this can be worked inbetween AC, the Furtopia Campout that WS is holding, Feral, and whatever other plans furs have.

I wanna come. ;-;

Sadly I live in GA. Plus my mom has that paranoia about the internet. :/

I'd love to come. <3
And I’ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom,
I’m as green as the ring on my little cold finger,
I’ve never known the lovin' of a man,
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand.

Sporty, I wish I could go to this.  It would do me a lot of good.  I have a high school building that needs to be finished by early August.  I can't get time off till Sept.  It feels like the world is passing me by this summer.  Anyway, have fun.

Hey Sporty,

My mate, Dawn and I may be interested in coming depending on when it is scheduled.  Perhaps we can even brave riding the scooter down to your place (I now have a Honda Silverwing mega-scooter).

I've left the date open to see what works for everyone, so all suggestions welcomed. BTW, you and Dawn live close enough to head on down this way anytime so don't wait just for this! My door is always open for company, so load up that geezer-glide and roll on down  '<img'>  You know, since I've been off the scoot for so long now due to my back those geezer-glides are looking really, really nice!

*Laughs*  I haven't heard the geezer-glide line before.  You should try one Sporty.  The Silverwing is fairly nimble and even though it has a smaller engine, it matches or outperforms many crusiers.  And  *shock*  I found I don't even miss shifting.

Dawn and I will definitely keep in mind the open invite and see if we can work out a time to come visit.  It would be good to meet another fellow furtopian

Ok, it looks like June is out of the picture. I've got to put a custom front end on a buddies scoot and have it done before AC, so that will tie me for the next couple of weekends. I have back surgery right after AC so that will rule out at least the following week-end and probably the one after that.

So, how about July 30/31st?

30-31 July is great with me.  Any artists planning on coming?  I haven't done an art trade in a while, and I'll draw for anyone that wants a good fursona drawing done.

Still working on getting my mate to come with me.  She's a shy one.

When I read this post I thought, "A furry camping trip, how interesting." But then it hit me it was a campout...and all my camping trips have been horrors that no one should be subject to(at least in my opinion). Drunks, bugs, drunks, muggy heat, drunks...yeah, my family has a slight alcohol problem(reason why I don't like drinking). But yeah, last time I went camping(which was only about a week ago actually), I could not enjoy because I couldn't really camp. I had a foot infection(yes, a very bad one). But yeah. There's my mini rant why I don't like Camping.

Plus by the end, someone has annoyed me so much that I want to smother them with my socks(which are considered dangerous weapons in 47 states, and you need Hazmat licenses in 3 states just to handle them).

But anyways, I would of love to go...if I didn't hate the outdoors(actually, I only hate them in the summer. I am a cold winter person) and if I wasn't under the oppressive yoke of my Parental units regime.

However, I wish you the best of luck with your campout Sporty. I don't think you'll need it though. Sounds like those who will come will have fun and all.

So, was there a campout? Did it happen already? How was it?

If it didn't go off - when is it?

Are you having other ones in the near future?

Sorry Kody, I posted everywhere but here it seems- it's been postponed for a few weeks. My back surgery was rescheduled and I'm not physically up to it at the moment. New date coming soon tho!
