Would love to but most likely not sadly. If we can save up a lot of money then maybe.

I live fairly close to Seattle, so distance really isn't a problem. I think the only thing stopping me is convincing my dad to take me, and the potential of a lot of questions asked about this event, as I've never really told my parents that I'm a furry.

Added to the Furtopia calendar :)

This would be pretty darn far for me. Perhaps someday, as I think it would be neat to take a trip to Seattle. But I've got enough going on this year to take up all my vacation time already.

haha, I tackled that problem back when I was 10 or 11, I think. even managed to get my parents and a friend's mom take a couple of my pals and I to RF 07 and 08 at ages 12 and 13
I don't think they ever fully understood what the deal was with the whole "furry" thing, but they had no problem taking us to furry events or letting us get foam and fur all over the house building fursuits. I guess your parents' reactions would depend upon what they're like, but if you need any advice on talking to them about it, feel free to PM me!

hope you can make it, and that the rest of you will be able to attend future events (~:

Love Rainfurrest.  Will definitely be there.

This year, I won't be bringing the kids.  My daughter isn't turning out to be as much of an animal person as her parents, and I think she'd rather be in school.  I think my one-year-old would LOVE it -- he loves animals more than anything and always laughs at plush toys -- but I can't do writing panels and watch a baby.  So, since his sister isn't coming, he isn't either.

According to the schedule, it looks like I'll be doing nine panels, including the Coyotl Awards Ceremony, a Furry Writers' Guild meeting, and a reading.  Huh...  I should probably figure out what piece I'm going to read from soon.

Rainfurrest was -- as always -- amazing.  I wrote up some highlights of my weekend on FA:  http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6154690/

Here's a write-up of the Coyotl Awards Ceremony that I went to on Friday evening:  http://coyotlawards.org/2014/09/29/coyotl-awards-double-ceremony/

And here's a video of the song that my husband did in the variety show:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROf7R2KsNrA&feature=youtu.be

The whole variety show was excellent this year.  Every act was good.  I really enjoyed it.

ahh, that was your husband?? I loved his performance so much! send him my regards as an appreciative audience member. (~:

I also had a great time at the con. still haven't figured out how to make friends in this fandom, but it was great to draw with people, be surrounded by fursuiters again, support very talented artists, and participate in my first fursuit parade in 6 years. very much looking forward to getting a fullsuit - that will be much more fulfilling than a somewhat shoddy partial.
