FLCL best anime ever??
« on: October 06, 2011, 03:33:46 pm »
I love this anime! It's short but sweet; lasting only six episodes, it just makes me crave more! I love pretty much everything about the anime- the characters, the plot, the overall outrageousness of it all and of course... Those eyebrows! Lol

What are your opinions on this short anime?  I see it as a great coming of age tale, and the more times I watch it, the more I seem to understand what the writers were trying to express about growing up in a small town.

And just how ridiculous the show is makes it even more memorable for me.

I think it was..alright. Nothing too special though, despite what most people say :P.

I agree with shim, It was'nt great. Good anime none the less. I did like the Idea of symbolysing a childs growth to manhood throught the series. But thier other work "Neon Genesis Evangelion" was much better.

This is gonna sound really strange but this show is special to me cause it reminds me of a very special summer I once had...

If you take out the giant fighting robots and aliens and the government agents and that mechanical version of Takkun's dad and that Ninamori dad's in the news business.

Hmm... Well its still special to me. :)

Between some nutcase on a moped, a porthole in a kids head, and robots, all I can say is that it was very confusing.

Yeah, I really didn't understand it that well the first time I watched it, but the more I watched it, the more it grew on me.

I am very sorry to have to be the grinch in the room, but this anime series was one of my least favorites that I have seen, and I was rather irate that Adult Swim took a half-hour away from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (one of my absolute most favorite anime series) to show it.  Of course I never liked Neon Genesis Evangelion either, and I absolutely detested His and Her Circumstances, so I guess that I am just not a Gainax fan in general.  To each their own, I guess.

Best ever?  Probably not for me, but I thought it was really, really good anyway.
