Can't access my FTP in the evening

For 3 evenings in a row (after 9pm eastern, I'm a day sleeper), I can't connect to my FTP.  But in the morning (after when I get home from work at 730am) ftp works just fine.  What is causing this?

Are you still having issues with the FTP not working in the morning?  Is your ftp set to passive or active?

Actually, it's the evening when I've had most of my trouble connecting to FTP.

I believe it's set to passive.  When I open Fire FTP's options, in the "connection" tab, The box under Active Mode isn't checked.

Last time was Monday evening.  I was off work and at home that night and so I tried it again around 1am eastern and it worked OK.  Though it didn't work a few hours later.  Then it was working again a few hours after that.

I didn't try it Tuesday evening.  Though at the time of this writing at about 6am, I tried just to see if it would work and it connected OK.

Now it's about 10pm and it won't connect.  I saw in the "outages?" thread where on Wendsday morning, Arbutus said the following

This is bizarre, man. Why is everybody having different experiences every time they click? The time of day, the composition of the URL, and possibly the location of the visitor all seem to be factors. Either that, or the outages are just random. Is it possible that Furtopia's only letting through a certain amount of traffic every hour, let's say, and if you don't load the page at the right time you're out of luck?

I doubt that.  The websites are open 24/7.  There is a bandwidth cap on individual sites but it is very high and hitting that cap would stop it completely. 

Hmm... we do route through three independent feeds.  I'm curious to know if all feeds are not passing traffic or just some. 

When you experience the problem try the IPs 24.123.192.158, 24.123.192.170, and 24.123.192.178 and let me know if all are down or just some?

I was thinking along the lines of a ftp test on those IPs.  But I have opened up ping on 170 and 178 so you can test with ping again if there is a problem.  Looking to see if there is any routing issues to some of the IPs.
