Weird Offenses.
« on: July 04, 2008, 09:00:07 pm »
I was just wondering if any of ya'll had some things furry related that make you mad even if they shouldn't.

My best friend's girl friend grabbed my collar and pulled it today and was lets go for a walk. It pissed me off right away. I grabbed her hand was stared her in the eye and was like never do that again...I know I shouldn't have and stuff...but truth I don't feel bad. I think though it had more to do with the fact that I don't like her and she won't get that clue since I hardly talk to her and ignore most of what she says to me. So I think it was more her than anything...but weirdly I saw myself biting her hand and it made me think, is their any one else who gets mad because of things like this or any one who thinks or does things like this when they are angry?

Honestly, dude, I think you need to relax a bit before you embarass yourself. Have fun.  If you wear a collar in public, people are going to react to it.

Seriously. When I wore a tail with my fiance, people were staring at it. I was embarrassed, yeah, but I knew it was coming because it's not normal. I wear a collar sometimes but usually the one who wants to take me for a walk is the one person I want to take me for a walk.
And I’ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom,
I’m as green as the ring on my little cold finger,
I’ve never known the lovin' of a man,
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand.

LOL Oh I know that. I don't mind most of the time when people make jokes, it was just that I really don't want anything to do with her and she doesn't get that clue.  (No matter how clean I make it. I ignore her clearly most the time and she doesn't get it...is that bad or what?)

I posted a topic because it made me wonder if any one has had anything fur related make them almost cause a problem.

Well, I don't know know if this is what you're looking for but...

We had a problem with mice in the back room at work.  My boss was going to lay out poison until I threatened to quit over it. :D

We eventually went with live-capture traps and I volunteered to drop the little guys off at the river nearby.  Everyone at work thought I was a freak for threatening to quit over some mice.   :P

Yup just the sort of thing I was looking for.  :)And congrats on the no poison. Not only is a painful death but it can cause secoundy poisoning to other animals as well.  :(

i agree

just like how i flip out everytime i hear someone went bear hunting, thats totally not cool. i mean deer hunting makes sense lol. they would just over populate (because ppl hav done a good job of killing the land) and if there gonna starve to death, then i guess u should bring a bullet. it's a less painfull way to go.

but bears --shakes head like crazy-- there can never be to many Bears haha. besides theres a lot less of them. and i hear the meat is abd as well  :)

Well, I have a lot of fursuit-related annoyances (for instance, when people wear a head and tail but no handpaws...TAAACCCKKYYYY), but other than that, I'm oddly open. XD Don't mind people pulling my collar (hell, my friend bought me a leash and walked me around the mall like that...haha), don't mind people messing with my tail (so long as they ask first...but that's mostly because I'm REALLY jumpy xD), etc.

OH. But I agree with teh bear. I'm not a coyote in this fandom, but I consider my totem to be a coyote and so I get VERY mad when I hear about people hunting coyotes, or see a dead coyote. I mean..I own a real coyote tail, but I didn't know it was real when I bought it, and /I/ didn't kill it so it doesn't bother me wearing it. I just hate the people who purposefully go out and kill coyotes. D: It saddens me.

yup thats how i feel, though i don't own a bear tail  :D
but ppl always find it wierd that i lash about that topic in perticular, being i don't act all defensive about much else. even when ppl are insuling me directly (not that i can't defend my self but high skool drama ain't worth real world consiquence lol)

i just say there my fav animal of course and that makes everyone go all...oh...k lol

I don't know?  were you in suit?  If you were in a fursuit that would be one thing,  however if you were just casually wearing a collar and she tried to turn it into bondage or something....  well lets just say reflexes might have caused me to bite.... but i think you handled this the right way.  Don’t ever let people turn it into Bondage or anything WEIRD (erm.. weirder...)  because among other things, that’s where the misinformations come from.  In suit might have been different because you might have actually been something that could be taken for a walk,  in which case I think I would have picked her up off her feet (held her in my arms)  and started walking towards the door.  xD      As far as doing things you know you shouldn't?  Well in a case like this i don't think that really has anything to do with a furry so much as reacting to something that really anoyed you...  we all react to things that really anger us in some way or another,  wether or not we show our reactions is completely different.

Keep in mind however that you represent the fandom.   If I see you on fox news over biting her I'll have hunt you down...   :D

I totally with him, you where inbounds when you snaped. Thats not how i would have acted but hey she did start it. The collar is to have fun not to have to worry about some, hulagin pulling on it when they know you don't like them. Friends are a different thing because you know there just playing around with you.

Oh I know what ya'll are saying, I didn't see my reactions as a furry spesifact thing it just made me thing of furry stuff when it was done and over. (:

Idk I think she has delousioned herself into thinking she can win me over.  She bit my best friend months ago and he still has a mark from it, she mulnipulates his head, and is a cheating desperate. I don't like the fact that they are dating again and she has to at least know that. But thats all off topic.

This is pretty out there as far as this topic goes, but I hate it when people put off a certain funk. The reason I say this is because I went to a restraunt today and couldn't enjoy my meal from someone's odor. I really dig the way things smell either that is one of my furry things or just an odditiy. If it is a furry thing, then smelling bad is my number one offense.

I'm not sure if that's furry either, but I'm definitely in agreement.

I tend to feel like there is a definate group of furries that take their sense of smell very seriously, I being one myself, so I can see how that would apply here, Shakuhachi.

I know I for one sniff just about everything, though I try to be subtle about it to when I can.  It's a shame that people can so easily become used to their own scent so there really are times when someone doesn't know just how bad they stink.  There just isn't any decently polite way to say, "I can smell you from twenty paces, want a bar of irish spring?  I have extra."

I totally agree with smelling everything, i'll even smell stuff i know i don't like just because i haven't smell it in a while. I defiantly take to people smelling as an offense, but i try not to mention that. Me is a nice lil bear  :)

You know, I find it kinda perverse that so many Furries are bald.   >:(

In my experience, strong/bad body odor and/or lack of hygiene isn't 'just' a furry thing.
It's safe to say that this is a problem that is infamous in any science fiction & fantasy related fandom, especially noticeable at cons.
