Were's vs Furry???

As demonstrated here by Goldenwolf, the greatest difference between furries and werekin is in their physical depictions.

In terms of spirituality, however, fur and were both have an equally wide range of participants ranging from the heavily spiritual to the artists and to the passive fans of Howling / Robin Hood.  Contrary to popular opinion, there are just as many spiritual furs as there are spiritual weres, so the only true difference between them (besides the physical depictions given above) is within the select few among the fandoms that refer to the other with hostility.  When this happens, angry weres generally refer to themselves as being outside the fandom whereas angry furs refer to weres as a subsection of the fandom.

This is something that will never be settled. After all, there is considerable overlap of interets here. Furries are suppose to be interested in anthropomorphic characters. However, given that interest, it wouldn't be too unusual to find such things as strong affinities for some particualr animal, some sense of kinship, or the various spiritual interests.

As for myself, like the weres and therianthropes, I can't really say that I chose my particular fursona. It chose me. For whatever reason, I have had a particularly strong affinity for dolphins which pre-dates my affiliation with Furry by a good 30 years. Also, anthro-dolphins just creep me out. So does that make me a therianthrope? I don't buy into this shape-shifting stuff, so I suppose some would say that makes me "Otherkin"? H311, call me "Furry", "Therianthrope", "Were", "Otherkin" -- I answer to 'em all.  '<img'>
