Right now, I'm only in the very early stages of trying to get another suit. I have the design done, but the suit won't be built/finished, etc. for at least 5-7 years.........if it even happens. :o
Gonna take a long while to save up $4,000 or more to get the suit commissioned. Anything can happen between now and AC2026 to derail my plans.
Let me narrow down your list a bit:
Hybrid - No
Dutch Angel Dragon - No
Robotic - No
Skunk - No

I have thought about a gryphon or a phoenix in the past. But I dropped those designs as the cost would be too high.

I'll give you guys a clue: The eyes will be yellow or golden colored. They may be the 3D follow me type eyes. That style seems to afford a lot of vision to look through them which is what I'd probably need since I have real life eyesight problems.

There really isn't much more I can say about my next "possible" suit as I prefer to keep it under wraps. 8)
1. It won't be a husky. But I may design a husky suit as a "backup" in case my current design doesn't work for whatever reason.
2. As I said previously, yellow or golden colored eyes.
3. 3D Follow Me type eyes.
4. Probably a toony type suit. Can't afford a realistic suit as those are $6,000+
5. Suit will be plantigrade.
6. White will be at least one primary color.
7. Design is pretty much finalized, but I'm having trouble deciding between 6 different coloration patterns.
8. Haven't selected an artist yet to do a character sheet. Might wait on this till I actually have the money saved to commission the suit.
9. Name for the character is already decided on.
10. Not much, if any, padding in the suit. If there is, it might be in the arms or the main body.
11. I am concerned with tail weight with the fursuit design I've selected. Need to keep the tail short and lightweight.
12. No pawpads on feet.
13. There will be at least 4 colors for the suit. One color will be at least 50%. Another color will be about 30%. Third and fourth colors will be about 10% each.
There's really nothing more I can say. Barring financial or health issues, I'd like to try for getting another suit. Gonna be a few years wait though.
Species/suits I've thought about in the past of getting, but have declined (or have I?) are the following:
Realistic Alaskan Malamute
Toony style Alaskan Malamute
Realistic wolf
Phoenix
Gryphon
Birds (Not sure specifically what type though.)
Lion

Guess again. :D I thought about a snake or other lizard long, long ago, but gave up on it. It's true that you don't see many snake or lizard fursuiters in the fandom. They're a bit rare. Dragons you see a fair amount of. But anything else is a rarity.

Putting some notes together today to put in an email to send to a few fursuit makers to get their opinions. I'm not commissioning now. But I have a few "technical issues" (Particuarly the arms.) regarding the suit design I have and I want to ask a few makers what their thoughts are if it's something they can make or not, and what changes they might suggest.
I'll keep everyone updated. ;)

The feather pic was just a generic clue to say the new suit will have feathers. Not to say the feathers will look exactly like that.

How to create a second fursuit without copying other designs? Hmmm. ?
Most on Furtopia know that I like Mountain Dew soda. My fursona wasn't always a green and white husky when I started on Furtopia back in late 2003. Don't think the green and white husky look came about till late 2005 or early 2006 maybe. And late 2006 was when I got my green and white Mountain Dew colored fursuit from Lacy. I think it was the first and only MD fursuit created back then. But I don't know?
But since that time, there have been a few other MD themed fursuits in the fandom. Some examples are:

Somehow, I need to "get my groove back" so to speak. After all, I am the original "Malamute Dewd". I've always talked, talked, talked about a Kobuk 2.0 MD fursuit in the past, but nothing has ever come of it.
So if I design a new Kobuk 2.0 suit, what would it be like? How do I keep it different from other Dew suits without copying certain design elements?
I'm not keen on mixing other "colors/flavors" on the suit. I've always liked the classic original flavor/colors. The classic dark green, light green, white, and red.

Can confirm. I've known Kobuk here for a few years now. He's a very sweet guy. And I mean that literally, he actually sweats fructose! :D
You know how some animals will turn orange if they eat too much of an orange thing? Well Kobuk really is green! Seriously, out of fursuit his skin has this subtle emerald hue.

It works on anything with carbon dioxide dissolved into a liquid (which is what you find in all carbonated drinks, soda and tonic water). However there are some soda ingredients that will make the reaction a lot more energetic such as those found in Diet Coke.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have had new fursuits long ago. :( I'm reading a book this afternoon that I picked up from the library. It's a price guide for LEGO sets. Just from what I saw, some (Depending on theme, playability, and other factors) are into the hundreds or thousands of dollars.........if they are MIB (Mint In Box). Why I gave up LEGO in my youth I'll never know. Stupid mistake I now regret. :( LEGO sets could have definately helped me get a fursuit long ago.

Mistakes happen I had those old metal dumptruck and bulldozer toys one day I left em outside and it rained and they rusted so bad I had to toss em now they go for a pretty penney. BTW so what did you decide for your second suit

Kobuk, try using pop can tabs into the suit. Integrate them like chain mail or "Dew Scales ".
some dew cans have silver metal also... so silver glitter fur may work.

At the rate things are going with this coronavirus pandemic happening around the world, the odds of me trying to get another fursuit are most likely 0%. :( Any money I have right now plus hopefully from that stimulus payment will go toward bills and/or "future preparedness" in case the coronavirus (or something worse) comes back.
So......no fursuit right now or in the near future.

There were a few skull dogs at the convention I went to last year.
Were kinda neat. The girl who was one was so fun, the scary aspect of the skull was lost on me and others. She started carrying a sign that said " I'm not cute".

And you never know, you might get your new one some day, sooner than you think.

I saw on DeviantArt a person's fursona sketch of exactly (or almost exactly) the same thing I had planned. Though their sketch was from 2017 or so. The similarity between their design and mine is like 90% to 95%. :o
Back to the drawing board.

Skull dogs are just simply dogs or other animals that show their skull. I have some skull animals. Jester(The skull dog) Blossom, a possum, three windigo, and a skull kitten.

I haven't completely given up. At least, not yet. I'm still trying to hold out some hope. It just means that I'm going to have to be a bit more creative in my design. But how, I don't know when the design is already 100% finalized and I don't want to change it anymore.
Other than the coronavirus and the economy getting in the way, there's a few other roadblocks like:
a) I have nobody near me to help with creating a duct tape dummy.
b) I don't know of any furs in my area. No groups, meets, etc. Nobody to ask questions, get help, etc.
c) I have no idea who I'll choose to make the suit. I've been "out of the loop" so to speak on keeping up to date with fursuit knowledge, fursuit makers, etc.

1. Primary fursuit that I've been hinting about throughout this thread is now on the "back burner" so to speak. Design is 100% finalized though.
2. Plans for a secondary Kobuk 2.0 fursuit are moving along at a snail's pace. Realllllly slow. :P Don't have much of anything figured out for a design.
3. 3rd design is for a wolf suit. But the trick is finding if the faux fur exists for the main color I have in mind. The secondary color for additional highlights would be like a silver. Name of character is figured out. Suit might be digitigrade, but not sure? Possibly a 50/50 toony/semi-real mix.
So..........still hoping for #1.
If #1 doesn't work, then move on to #3.
#2 is the last option I'll consider.

After I did one... yes... by myself...i seriously do not recommend it. I became stuck and had an emergency. I fell down, unable to move, but was able to wiggle to get scissors. I cut myself out. I almost passed out. Never again!!
Seriously, do you have someone you trust enough to have make a dtd?? I just up and told my neighbor lady that I needed help. I told her I was going to be at a renaissance faire as an animal, and I needed a form.
Turns out my neighbor used to do cos play costume making!! Thus she knew what a duct tape dummy was, she just called it a custom fit dress makers dummy. She did it all in 4 hours with measurements. She guessed it was for furry. Ya know for a 72 year old lady, she knew things that I didn't expect her to ( like furry). But then again she also made costumes for strippers, so, maybe she knew more than I did about underground culture stuff?
Hey, I'd do it for you, but I'm here... sorry. But seriously, if you ask, you might get someone who can help, although not a fur. once that dtd is done, you are set!

Clockwork Creature is nice, but they are wayyyyyyyyyy expensive. Probably need a winning lottery ticket just to afford them. And No, I wouldn't have the Kobuk 2.0 suit made by them. The wolf suit, maybe.

I saw many suits at my one and only convention. I loved them all. I think sometimes there is too much focus on everything being 100% original. In human world, there are people who dress similar, look similar, sounds similar, drive similar cars. I say that because you mentioned how what you wanted was already done. So do it, make it different enough, then get it made!!
I bet a great way to look more "original" is simply to accessorize!

Kobuk, I was slightly joking. It would be cool to do a go-fund-me. But how could we do it? I do not know how to start one, nor how to link it to you IRL. I mean, what would happen if there was a go-fund-me page for "Guy needs new husky fursuit".

A few times, I wanted to send furs here some greeting cards, like Christmas cards etc, physical ones, but there was never a way.
So I can't even buy you a suit and ship it to you.

Years ago I belonged to a Christmas forum. We sent each other cards every year. Privet messages where used to share addresses. Sending out 50 or so cards was kinda expensive. But getting about that many cards was nice.
