FINALLY got Beastars manga Vol.21 delivered today, plus a James Patterson mystery novel my mom wanted, from Amazon.
I ordered both from Amazon 2 weeks ago, but Amazon lost my package.  >:( So I then had to get a refund and re-ordered both items a second time.
Finally got both today in the mail.

During day 3 of the 3 days long 9 hour per day meeting marathons we have at work every 3 months... in my boredom... I started  browsing eBay on my phone.
I found a man selling items for my old piece of electronic test equipment.  The thing is from 1972 (50 years old?!)

What I have is an Oscilloscope. It does nothing more than display on a CRT a vertical which is typically magnitude of the thing you are measuring, and horizontal is typically time. Normally an oscilloscope measures voltage or current with respect to time.
Well this thing has the ability to take "plug-ins" and I do not mean air fresheners.  It has 2 slots, you put in those slots what you want.

So I can turn the Oscilloscope into something else given I have the proper plugin.

The man had 4 plug ins, to make 2 new things.  One set makes the oscilloscope into what is called a TDR (time domain reflectometer), and the other set of of plugins makes the scope into a high speed sample scope.
The TDR is used to diagnose cables and wires and find where they are damaged and by how much, without having to look at the cable.  It can "see" defects as small as .1mm long in a cable that is between 2" to 1 mile long!  Mind blowing!

The High speed sample scope is a thing that can see events as short as 20ps.  That is 0.00000000002 seconds!  Back in 1972.  Even at work our best devices can't do that and they are NEW!  Reading the docs on this thing they describe and show how it works.  And it is magic I swear!

Now the units all needed cleaning and tuning and in the case of the high speed sample scope, needed mechanical repair of a knob and associated electronics, which took 3 hours.
But for the low price I could not pass these up.  It is crazy, 50 year old stuff that still works and has value today!

So my good news is my geeky electronics "hobby" just got some much needed gear for cheap.
Turns out the man selling these things used to work for the company which made them and he knew what they were and used them and took care of them.  They look new.  He must have been a tech or engineer there.  What a find!

I finally broke down and learned how to block people on Facebook. I belong to quite a few different hobby groups. Some of these groups are lax when it comes to modding out users who post pictures of things that don't belong to them. Or worst have 'pinterest disease'. Posting pictures form pinerest with no explanation or reason why. Now not only do I not see their posts. I don't get notified saying there's 10 new posts to find nine of them are pinterest disease.

I'm getting neighbors. The folks that rented the house next door moved into the home they had built. This left an empty house next to me for a few months. Nice to have a full neighborhood again.

I was able to locate a source for 3 x 1.5v AAA battery box with on/off switch units. Now I can replace the one in my fursuit head. Even got $3 off my first order and free shiping.

Well Varg the wanderer. So am I! May today's *still* always be better than yesterday's.

There is an outdoor painting competition happening near me in two months. It's a seven day event. Despite the questionable and/or complete lack of information I'm hoping to go. I have no chance of winning. I'm going to have fun with it. Not take anything I do seriously. I'm actually thinking about getting a pair of 3-D glasses and doing one painting with them on. Might do one in 1950's turquoise and salmon pink. I'm a performer. Love to be in front and on stage. If I can have fun and laugh with people it's worth it. I can't paint. I have never done a complete oil painting in my life. Why should let that stop me from joining a competition.  :D

Firelight, I don't know what you were re tiling but I hope you had a great time there.  :D And congrats on the game news.

I posted in the bad news thread that i need a new computer. Still need one. However I was able to free up some processor space and got this old mac working great again. It has an 8 cor processor. I was able to free up six of those cores by rendering my DAW ( digital audio workstation, Logic Pro X ) useless. Now when I work between documents I don't get the spinning wheel of death. Nice to be able to see what I'm typing in real time. Instead of watching the spinning wheel of death and waiting for it to appear.

It took almost two weeks, but the replacement battery boxes arrived today. I'll have extras to offer other fursuiters and fursuit makers.

Transmission is installed,  works,  doesn't leak,  and is tuned.

A coworker advised me to take off from work early today as attending a training session offsite counted as a full 8 hours. I only work 28 hours a week btw.
