Are anime characters with ears furries?

question came up at school a little while ago and i told him that the thin he drew (anime with ears) was furry. I, of course didn't know myself, and this has been bugging me ever since. Does anyone know?

I find there to very much be a fine line between anthro, and human with vague features..

I think there was a thread on how furry you like your characters to be, but I can't find it..

Yah, I'm going to vote a 'no' on that one. There's just something about humans with animal ears/tails that that looks a little...jarring.  :o

I always feel badly for catgirls/foxgirls  - anime folks call them furry, and furries say that they don't count. Nobody wants them, poor things...

Nope, they are not furry. They fall under kemonomimi which can be translated to "animal ears". A cat girl will be nekomimi, a dog girl will be inumimi and so on. This help you? :3

Not too big of a fan of anime like I used to be so the appeals of catgirls and the like don't move me anymore.

I think they'd go under the big umbrella term of zoomorphic.

zoomorphic, like anthropomorphic, is a gradiant scale.
That image earlier in the thread depicted a zoomorphism percentage, while anthropomorphism% would be 100% - zoomorphism%

Im saying that they look like anime versions of furries that would go to anthrocon, visit furtopia, and get trolled on youtube ;)
I love how the word furry has as much literal meaning as "the people with the stuph in the place" yet we debate what falls into the term. Mah brain hurts x_x

I say not furry since they're humans with extra limbs in animal shapes. Not really animals with anthropomorphic persuasion.

As many of know I attend many fan conventions one problem at anime con is telling the difference between furries and cat girls/guys. sometimes the line is very thin.
