The 70's wer funny times, especially the cartoonish movies, complete crap but the style was funny

Kitsune_H:
Because it's more recent.
Kimba's from... Osama Tezuka's Times! That's around the 70s, right?

:

Are you referring to Zazu?
He's not a blue jay, he's a hornbill... albeit a rather highly stylised hornbill. They're a legitimate African species of bird.

Simo:
So Disney ripped off Kimba the White Lion to make the Lion King movie. There's a lot of that going on, and it's been going on for quite some time now. West Side Story was an obvious rip off of Romeo and Juliette, which, in turn, Shakespeare ripped off from an older story. Flipper was plagarized from Oppian's Halleutica, which was "borrowed" from Pausanias.

Nothing unusual about that. As concerns Lion King, that's not important. What I want to know is this: what the heck was a blue jay doing in Africa?
