Title: Any anime reccomendations?
Post by: Acheron187 on September 09, 2013, 03:07:20 pm
One of my friends hooked me up with a few shows he thought I'd like, I'm kinda new to anime so I figure I'd get some other opinions/reccomendations...

What I've watched
- Panty and Stocking with Garter Belt(Most if not all episodes, this is the one on the list I really got into)
- Trigun(5 episodes, I like this one heavily)
- Berserk(1 episode, I saw the intro episode and wasn't majorly impressed)
- One Piece(Not one of the shows I was hooked up with, but a show I've seen a couple times and enjoyed)
- Bo-Bo-Bo(Not a fan, too non-sensical for me. Once again just a show I've seen in the past)

Others
- Attack on Titan(I've heard good things about this one and will likely watch this)
- Hellsing Ultimate(I loved the manga, so I figure I would like the series. I also know it deviates from the manga heavily)
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure(No idea what it is? And I'm actually mildly scared of it)
- Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood(Heard of it and have seen ads for it, mild interest although it just looks too serious for me)
- Steins Gate(No idea what it is?)
- Sword Art Online(I have a few episodes recorded, I just have yet to watch. I am for the most part very interested)

What I like
- I love humor, but not non-sensical humor like Bo-Bo-Bo.
- I do like gore, reason that the Hellsing manga hooked me like it did.
- Non-serious, if a shows seems too brooding or depressing. I just can't get too much into it.

Bleach is a good one( I'd recommend skipping the filler arcs though unless you just want to watch them) and attack on titan is very good also. the first episode is kinda slow but it picks up a few episodes in.

I watched a bit of Trigun at a friends house.  The main character is pretty much a non-lethal Spoonman. (Spoonman is a character of mine)

I saw you liked humor, so i prepared recommending high school of the dead. Then I saw that you didnt like non sensical humor, and there is a fair bit in that anime, then i saw you liked gore and its pretty good in that department.

Only a recommendation, it's got alot of... women part jokes in it, however it does tell a fairly good or descent story with lots of action, fun characters, and it doesnt focus to much on exploitation of women.

If you have not already seen:
1. Mononoke
Absolutely wonderous art style and chilling tales!
http://www.crunchyroll.com/mononoke/
2. Kiznaiver
Definitely a show I honestly identify with strongly due to the sensitive subject of "feelings"

3. Devil Survivor 2
Loosely based off of a game , kinda like cellphones and card game creatures put together , it really isn't bad . it surprised me honestly.

4. Terraformars
Uhhh.. Well I've never felt some sort of way about humans and roaches , i just can't explain. It is rather violent so beware.

These are my favorite so far!
