We need to send a message to the republican party. The only message we can send they still have to listen to is our vote. NO republican left in office. Let then know.

vote.

This is another gift from President Trump. Perhaps it's a gift to
the democrats as well. If the GOP continues to shoot them selves
in the foot. The greater their loss in 2018. Millions are upset over
this takeover of the internet. Reports are that corporate IP's
spent millions lobbying for this change.

I am sure there was a few corporate  parties following the vote by
the 3 GOP turncoats at the FCC. The GOP is always making claims
they are for the little guy, but it's a lie. It's the party of the far right
and big  business. Not even for small businesses..

They claime it's all about compitition, but many rural areas only have
one provider. They have no choice unless they want to pay what ever
the corporate IP wants.

They say it worked in the past, but in the past the internet was growing,
and most ip's were small and doing what they could to get people online.
Now that the internet has largely matured with millions online they don't
have to worry about growing. I can remember when there was little
interest in providing internet for the public. Especially by big business.

Hopefully when the democrats take over they will reverse this. Especialy
when it proves to hurt people and the internet.

Personally I don't watch movies online due to vision, but many do, and
I am sure there are plans to charge extra fees for access. Most at risk
are the small startup internet businesses. The big corporate IP's
have their hands in other businesses. So if a individual tries to start
a small online business that is in competition with one a IP is invested
in it's likely they will block or limit access to it.  It's unlikely a
individual could start a business like Amazon's founder did after
this change.

The battle isnt actually over yet:

A number of groups are now suing the FCC over this (might work)
Congress has to approve it (probably won't work in NN's favor)
A bipartisan movement wants to simply move the protections to legislative law (might work, using your 'voter power' if you live in a contested area matters here)

Also the telecom companies are unlikely to make any immediate moves (assuming that the bipartisan movement and court cases both fail), but be watching their actions over the next year. Likely you will start seeing them making moves against businesses that rely on high bandwidth (Which could result in an increase in prices they charge for said services)

In an added level of messed-up-ness:
The FCC has been found to have stolen people's identities in order to post comments around the internet in favor of ending net neutrality. Including stealing the identities of people's recently deceased relatives.

If they weren't stealing the identities themselves, they were very damn well protecting those who did.

Wait? What? Huh?  :o  I actually heard and read that it was the reverse. That various advocacy and pro-Net Neutrality groups stole people's ID's in order to gain support for keeping Net Neutrality as is. Not the other way around for gaining support to end Net Neutrality. Hmmm. Russia meddles in our 2016 election. I can't help but wonder if they or other countries are meddling in our other government processes?

So........what happens next?
