Can I post this link?

In the General Posting Guidelines, there is a rule that states:

Quote
5. Individuals are not allowed to explicitly "advertise" or "recruit" on Furtopia forums/live chat for a non-Furtopia site without discussing and requesting permission from the Furtopia Staff first. This does not include artists showing their artwork and web sites in artwork announcements.

A fur posted in the Fursuiting forum asking for help on buying fur and eyes. I gladly helped by providing links to some tutorials and other info. which is located at LiveJournal. But is the Fursuit community at Livejournal considered a forum? Am I in violation of the rule quoted above? If I am, I will edit out my links that I had posted. Are the communities (furry and non-furry) at LiveJournal classified as forums or as something else? I'm only trying to help other furs by providing them with whatever necessary info. and tutorials they need.

It seems clear to me that your post with the links in it was not meant for recruitment. The only question I see is whether it counts as advertising.  In some sense it does, but if that's the case then shouldn't all those that have links to their LJ accounts in their sig's also be in violation of that rule?

My opinion is that it's fine- others may agree or disagree tho, so my word is mearly my view on the matter.

I think they are ok, because you are not doibg so to promote or advertise, but rather to help others. Anyway, the lastword is for any higher power.  '<img'>
