Congrats Kalo. I'm glad to hear that you will no longer be watching my posts as you used to have been. Oh, wait. Mods have greater post viewing privies. Durn it! I feel your eyes on me all the time, you're watching me right now, I just know it.
Nah now that I'm in a higher position I won't do as much watching, now I can take direct action! Er, provided I follow the guidelines and rules and don't step on the tails of the staff. Truth be told I feel nervous about this position but am easing into it. It's a strange feeling to look around and try to get over seeing the staff, like admins and the mods, as equals.
When I first arrived I was nervous anytime I got a PM from Kobuk or WS or another staff member because I enjoyed the boards so much and didn't want to rustle anyones fur. And while those PMs were always lighthearted I always wondered what they thought of me. Call it paranoia.
Now that I'm in a position of semi-power and weild a lot of responsability here I still feel like that same little wolf who first arrived. Maybe it's because I've risen so fast, (I've barely been here over a year) maybe it's because I'm not used to being respected. Nevertheless I recognise the trust the staff have in me and I want to work hard to live up to their expectaions. I feel proud that I've come to this position.
The only thing I can liken it to is like the first time you stand on almost equal footing with your parents, when you see that they don't quite see you as an immature kid anymore and your folks start to feel more like friends than your parents. It's a strange feeling and hard to describe.
I hope that makes sense to at least someone out there.
