Hello everybody, I suppose I should introduce myself. The name is Makir (online at least IRL 'tis Greg) and I don't have much interesting going on in my life right now. I am a junior in high school and absolutely LOVE math. I am talking Calculus and plan on getting a dual major in math and education, and becoming a math teacher. I also love to write and have about 10-20 half finished novels that I can't seem to get to the end of to get them published.
About me personally, I have noticed that I alternate between being very cynical and being extremely optimistic, sometimes both at the same time if that is possible o.o. Though to be frank it is just the outer part of who I am that fluctuates once you get to know me a bit better, you will find that I am always optimistic and love to help people. As I put it once, I have the heart of a poet the vocabulary of an orator, and the mettle of a coward (Meaning that I feel like a poet, come up with the perfect way to say everything, then chicken out and wind up not saying it as eloquently as I planned) I am really a nice guy, trust me ;)
Hmmm... can't think of anything else to say, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer

Ehem.. erm, My best regards!
On a math-related note, have you learned to program your graphing calculator yet? You can't leave high school without doing that!
-
*Snugs* welcome to the team sweets! :) :D

Lawrence not only have I programed my calculator (TI-89) I have programed it in C:
-
Oh, my, Makir... that takes skill...
(oh, and by the way, congratulations! *hugs*) :)

Lawrence not only have I programed my calculator (TI-89) I have programed it in C:
Indeed! I bow down all respects and honors to you!
Since I'm curious, what's you favorite/best program?
Mine is one that can solve any triangle through the use of Trigonometry (though it doesn't take into consideration other possibilities for solutions. It only solves for one if one.)
-
Polynomial root finder hands down... oh and mine which is a quiz game I created with notes in all my classes out of boredom.
-
Graphing calculators! I forgot about those entirely! :-[
<-- *became a history major after high school*
I do remember playing around with programming them, though... usually during my math classes.... ;) I was mostly all about the games, though. My favorite game was one whose title I shall not post here due to this being a family-friendly forum. ;)

Graphing calculators! I forgot about those entirely! :-[
Never heard of those, but then again I'm so awful with math that I had no choice but to take remedial math in high school. Very embarrassing.

Hey Makir, congratulations m8. Hope your going to stick with the RP's.

Indeed, Tales of Lakaria needs you! You wouldn't let my first RP die would you? :( :( :(

Makir!
That fuzzy old lobster with those cute lil' paws.
I love hanging out with you on the IRC :D

Do a barrel rol! :)

*sits in back of room and raises hand*
I has a question! :) How come you changed your name to Kaloth?
-
I umm... I dunno, Makir wore thin to me, and Kaloth was my Alternate name... After a bit it started to sound better to me than Makir did so... now I am Kaloth ^_^

Hey everyone, it has been quite a while since I've posted in this thread I suppose. My apologies to the staff for the grave digging, but I felt it would be more appropriate to revive this thread for this post rather than create a new one. This is especially true considering that this will likely be my last post here. It's been a weird ride since I registered in May of '08, and I can hardly believe it has been 4 years. Since that point in life a lot of things have changed.
I am making this post as a farewell to everyone I have met here in my stay. Again I apologize for this, but I'd rather not just disappear like many of the people I have known here.
For those of you wondering why I have made the choice to leave. It's simple really, I joined here at a time in my life where I was mostly outcast by my peers. This led me to look online, and I found here as a community that accepted me and gave me praise. Over the years though I have slowly grown to realize that furry is not so much my cup of tea. And now that I've reached the point in life where I'm at college, and have made friends with interests far more similar to my own, I realize how wrong the fandom was for me. With that, I bid you all a fond farewell.
~Kaloth

Well, before you leave, I hope you have time to read a few good byes. Some people may feel disappointed with you leaving. But as for me, the only disappointing thing is that I really didn't get to know you as much as I would like (considering you were on IRC practically all the time). But that is the most minute emotion, because I'm so happy that you've found great friends and an awesome group to be a part of in real life. Perhaps Furtopia was like a stepping stone for you, and I'm really glad it was, and I hope this place can help others just like you in the future. That's why I like this place. :)
So, good luck and have fun! I've still got that file on my computer, "Kaloth's Writing Group." :D That sure was a lot of fun. So keep moving forward demon lord and maybe we'll see you sometime. But if not, good bye and you'll be missed. ;)
-
We'll all be sad to see you go. Hope you do well in life and check back occasionally ^^
-
Always return and visit for a while Makir. I'll miss you a good deal. =\
Talk to me on Skype or IRC sometime. x_x
-
Farewell then I suppose...
I hope you will still drop by IRC from time to time.
-
:( Really sorry to see you go, Kaloth, and with such finality too. But I understand where you're coming from. I've been hanging around the fandom for nine years by now, and as I've grown and changed, my own connections with furry have gotten weaker over time. At this point, my main loyalty is to Furtopia, and to all the awesome people I've met in this community, rather than to the fandom itself.
You've done a lot of great things for Furtopia in your time as a staff member, and we'll always appreciate you for it. Feel free to pop in and visit anytime. We'd love to have you.
-
The departure of someone I know from here is always somewhat sad for me, but it's particularly sad for me to see you go; you were one of the first people I became acquainted with when I joined this community. I hope that you find happiness, no matter where your new direction in life takes you.
Feel free to pester me on Steam or add me on whatever else you prefer to use (my preference is anything *but* MSN due to client glitchiness on my end). I also wouldn't object to seeing you on the IRC now and again.
-
The opportunity for us to get to know one and other never really came up, but still, I’m sorry to see you go.
To think of the possibility that we could have even been friends, if only we were to log into IRC at the right times, or perhaps respond to different posts here on the forums.
(It’s strange to think about how things work out sometimes.)
…In any case, farewell and good journey to you.
