II got burgers on the brain.

Like to see what people take more often on their burgers.

Barbecue sauce, cheese (swiss is always a good option), bacon, lettuce, tomato. At least if I'm at a restaurant. If I'm making them at home, I stop at the BBQ and cheese out of laziness.

I've put all of those things and then some on hamburgers. I don't just have one kind I like; I eat MANY different kinds of hamburgers and combination of toppings.

I assume cheese is almost a given in a burger. But give me a plain bacon burger, with BBQ sauce and swiss cheese. Then drown the whole thing in nacho cheese and eat with your bare hands and a towel. Not a napkin, a towel. Oh! The awesome that is the Bacon Nacho burger with Swiss and BBQ sauce! YUM!!!

Lettuce
Ketchup
Onions (Raw, not fried)
Bacon
A1 steak sauce
BBQ sauce

Here's my own recipe for a hamburger that I'd like to try sometime.

Southwestern Burger: Hamburger patty, 2 slices of pepperjack cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce, and pico de gallo.

I like to precook finely chopped onions and garlic, then mix it into the burger meat. I also add some A-1 to the mix. As for cheese, a sharp cheddar, pepperjack, or blue cheese.

I do the same, but I love really strong garlic with some bite to it, so usually just add ground-up, raw garlic to the hamburger meat. Mayo, HP Brown sauce or hot sauce, lettuce, tomato and grilled onions. No cheese if I'm thinking kosher, pepperjack if I'm not.

I would have to put Swiss as my favorite cheese for a burger, with pepperjack close behind. If there's barbecue sauce available, it goes great with the swiss. If not, I'll go for the pepperjack to get that extra bite. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of cheddar or American.

I usually eat a dry burger with meat and cheese... But I ate my first MAN CHEESE BURGER with lettus, tomatoes, meat, cheese, and onions and I said to myself "What have I been missing?!" It was awesome!

Pickles. So many pickles. Usually about two or three layers of pickles. If I could skip the burger part and just have a pickle patty, I would.

The bun gets all soggy, sadly, and the burger ends up not being thick enough to be satisfying. I've tried.

Although, if anyone has ideas for how to make it work, I'm all ears!

Those were my first and second thoughts after seeing that list.

I also think, if it's done right, a slice of pineapple could be good. It would probably want bacon and barbecue sauce to go with it.

Normally I just do a little bit of ketchup and mustard, and then eat a whole pile of tomatoes by themselves on the side.

Best burger I ever had though, was way different. It was stuffed with caramelized onions, bacon, and cheese (the real kind, not that american crap), and then topped with more bacon and caramelized onions.

Tied with that burger is actually not a real burger, but I count it. It was a really good chewy piece of ciabatta, toasted then rubbed with a whole clove of garlic. Little medalions of steak were cooked medium rare, chopped up, put on the bread, and then a little bit of stilton (think fancy blue cheese) on top of that. Om nom nom.

"The Denny's Slamburger" a friend bought it for me, and I ate it on a dare. Ahem... it is a cheeseburger, topped with an egg(I had mine scrambled), hash browns and nacho cheese; which is strangely delicious and I love it.

Yes! Yes! The best burger I've ever had was pretty much like this, except with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar on top. You have no idea how much you're making me drool right now.

Well, on the topic of veggie burgers... I've had a few veggie burgers myself and all but one have been cringe inducing. Grainy, crumbly, dry, tasteless (or tasting like the inside of a garbage disposal heavily used for soggy plant materiel). I did have one decent one though, it had mainly peas and soybeans in it, along with what must have been copious amounts of liquid smoke. Knowing the person who made it, they were probably peas from their own garden, soybeans from the hippie farmers market they go to, and homemade liquid smoke.
