Looks interesting, but I'd have to vote against background music; sites with sound are considered annoying by large amounts of people (though just as well that I can't play it, I suppose).

Interesting idea trying to emulate a complex spiral on that background, but it really slows my computer down.  Perhaps you could try forgoing the effect, or replacing the transparent PNG with a nontransparent one (that lines up)?

In general I find your site pretty good. The music is nice, the choices themselves and arrangements aren't offensive although as I stated earlier it would be nice for you to list what music you are using so people can go away and try more of it. The background is soothing, a bit different but not over the top or distracting.

One big nitpick - the site belongs to Chinook. Therefore it should be titled Chinook's Site, that missing apostrophe grates on my nerves as it's a simple grammatical error.

Your gallery is nice, simply laid out and manageable for the time being with the current quantity of pics, but you might want to look at eventually going over to thumbnail links. Also, you might want to look into trying your hand at drawing other furs than Chinook himself, otherwise the gallery will rapidly look very samey. Maybe you could ask/challenge your friends to draw your fursona with theirs, or do a gift art for them. That way there is a link with the theme of the site, but you get a bit more variety.

Overall you have a nice, easy to navigate site that doesn't overwhelm the viewer which has clear potential to grow and develop into a decent personal site as content is added.

it does look nice.. Im in agreement on the music tho.. music on websites gets annoying fast. At least your choice in music didnt make me close the site instanly tho , like some sites have done in the past.

Music annoys completely. Having it on the front page only is an OK idea, but still, someone might go onto the webpage, hear the music and will bolt just for the fact that there's music and won't even stick around long enough to travel the rest of the site. Thats what I did. o_O I opened the page, went GAK! then turned the music off and promptly hit the reply button on this thread to make sure you knew that it needed to be taken off. I didn't click any links yet or anything.

The 'disclaimer'. THIS IS A FURRY SITE etc... Ehh. I think that's a bad thing to put on there. First of all, most people don't know what furry is. If you give someone your site and they look and see that and don't know what furry is, they'll probably wonder if they SHOULD be weirded out. Then they'll google it and probably find all the bad things about the fandom and never visit your page again. You don't beed to run around labeling everything furry. It's just a hobby, not some big thing that everybody HAS to know about.

Now, I'm not saying "DONT SAY FURRY!" at all. You can mention it, in fact I encourage you to. But what I'm saying is that if you say "DONT BE WEIRDED OUT", people will be weirded out. If you casually mention it like it's no big deal, nobody will get worried, except /b/tards.

Ads. I can't believe how many people seem oblivious to the fact that Furtopia as AD-FREE web hosting and don't apply for it. o_O Maybe they do and just forget? Because, just a mention to the mods, [Not Chinook related ] you guys say there's up to a 2 day wait for approval, but I didn't get approved for a month when I first applied... And it wasn't until my third attempt at applying. And I also had applied to have my Furtopia site deleted so I could get another URL and it never was. And the application for the new URL was never approved or denied either. It doesn't matter anymore since I have paid hosting somewhere else now, but I just think you guys need to check in on the applications a little more often.

ANYWAY BACK ON TOPIC

What is the purpose of your site? You plan to have comics, it seems. If this is the case, I HIGHLY suggest on having the navigation on the side, so that viewers don't have to scroll down to view a whole comic, then scroll back up to move to the next one.

Also, the background seems a bit busy, though the darkend area helps it a lot, the brightness on the sides just kind of draws my eye to the background instead of the content. I suggest getting a background that's a few shades darker.

I've updated several times since the last post, but I still need sugestions (I also need a welcome pic).
Oh, and I haven't figured out how the gallery tool works (Any fellow freewebs users, could you give me a hand/paw/talon/flipper?)  I've even added a forum.
