And this seems like a pretty interesting thing. It's a shame it didn't really take off in popularity but I'm wondering if anyone has seen it or intends to watch it.
I might give it a look. "Ninja Samurai Furry Highlander" sounds amazing even if the effects seem a tad dated.

Very interesting. But not surprising or unexpected. Japan has used animal themed characters in it's "tokusatsu" shows for quite a long time. And it still continues to this day. ;) Anyway, a few links:
