Well Nagi is a name of a character I played on a game a long time ago(still play once in a while though) and when trying to think of a new more fitting name for my sona I picked that since I've always liked the name.

Farron got her name because she was heavily influenced by Lightning, but didn't want to name her Lightning or her real name Claire and thought her last name Farron would be cooler. Although Farron's full name is actually Snow Farron Husky but she prefers to go by Farron(she was originally just Farron Husky), her last name was just a joke since I never liked characters with the last name of their species but it stuck XD
I really need to come here more often XP

I chose Bronx because I like the way it sounds, and I also feel like my fursona would have a bit of a New York accent.

Technically, my inspiration came from Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, who named his son Bronx. I liked that name.

I've shown my many internet usernames so far, but i've never brought up my "fursona" names.

Aaron Rekell: I liked the name Aaron.  Rekell was the name of an old character from a long time ago who ended up being scrapped.  Since Aaron and Rekell were very similar characters, i just made Rekell Aaron's last name.  Aaron's middle name is Harper.  Again, no real significance behind that.

Chaerom Bloodfang:  Chaerom didn't mean anything when i first came up with it.  Bloodfang is more of a title than anything else, it's not actually Chaerom's last name.  (His real last name is Aurinko, but due to his backstory he doesn't remember much about himself including his name.)

Faroe Sinclair: Faroe was a name i made up on the spot while playing Pokemon.  Faroe the Linoone then went on to find fame as my team's specialist, having a wide moveset to make up for his sub-par stats.  Sincliar is actually after Upton Sinclair, writer of the book The Jungle, the book i was reading at the time... and i am still yet to finish...

Leon "Scrap" Augis: Leon is a cool name.  Augis is just another name i made up.  Leon's nickname Scrap has two meanings.  One, when he was young his poor family could barely keep food on the table, so Leon mostly ended up with scraps.  He also likes to pick fights more than is healthy, which leads to the second meaning of his nickname.

Meak Veridis: Then name Meak was meant to sound like Meek.  However, while Meak is small in stature, she has a strong personality to make up for it, and being a mongoose, she's no weakling either.  So the name is really more to contrast with her character than compliment it.

Yuri Kuzoro: Yuri was a name i took note of as soon as i first noticed it in COD MW3.  Kuzoro was me trying to make a Russian sounding name from scratch.  Turned out alright, i think.

Not quite sure, just something that sounded about right. The best explanation I can come up with is that it is a portmanteau of "flock" and "eeyore".

Like a lot of my oc names, they usually start with a normal name and work their way to the unusual. In the case of Jaiey, I asked my siblings, who were much more familiar with furry, and they said Jay. I already had a human oc named Jay, so I worked off that. It eventually came around to a kind of exotic sounding name, pronounced Jie-ay, and the last name Ecco simply based on Echo, to symbolise sound, and short for echolocation.

I was stuck on names for a while, then i looked at what sergal names spell and sound like, sure enough the Khajiit race in skyrim has sergal like names. So i just picked one.

I chose my Fursona name "Frenzy" for two reasons...

1) Name of a rapper I listen to...
2) play on the phrase "narcissistic rage"

this is kind of a funny one, my fursona name is Luchs. which you may think is a cute little name. but i was kind of lazy making it. I was sitting playing world of tanks when i saw a certain German light tank. and i thought hmm i really like the name of it. it was simple, short and straight to the point. So whats how i came up with Luchs as my fursona name

Literate:  I've been around books, literature, book marketing, writing, and so forth most of my career.

Lycan: I've been fascinated by wolves for years. Always believed that they got an unjustifiably bad deal in stories. I also enjoy a good werewolf tale, especially if the werewolf is something other than a mindless monster.

I got my Furry name (Mahao) by translating my name into Maori because of its significance to Bionicle, my oldest fandom. It's originally translated to Mohoao, but it doest flow too well so I butchered it a bit. It means in English Wild, which I guess is how you'd describe my fursona. A big, loud, dragon, who's fond of hunting and killing things. But mostly I chose it because of how close it is to my name in Maori, and like I said before, it's the main language and vocabulary used to build Bionicle in everything from stories, characters, and more.

I like the name Honey, and have made a few non-furry characters with the name. It's sweet and cute. I thought it was fitting. Then I realized "honey bunny" was a thing, and I was like, "this is it. I must incorporate that somehow." And so, the name Honey Bun was born (especially since some people on the internet call bunnies "buns," which I also thought was cute. ^_^).

My fursona's name, Taivana, actually means 'Sky' in Finnish and it fits because 1) my name means 'of the sky', 2) Finland is arguably my favourite country and 3) I liked the sound of it. ^u^

I've had to separate my fursona from Literate Lycan when LL's book review and commentary blog on Twitter developed a non-furry-fandom  following and started getting responses from authors and others in the book publishing field. So I pulled a name out of a story I wrote recently and am now using that for my fursona: Varek. It's an invented name, though it was slightly influenced by the geographic name Varick Street in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan.

Kailyn is my real name and so I thought Kai sounded cooler, and it was simple and short.

Not sure how I came up with Kobuk at the time. I just know it sounded good, so that's what I've used ever since.

I was just lying in bed one night, trying to think of names, when, out of nowhere, "Asher" popped up. It sounded right, so I went with it.

Since then, however, I've noticed just how well it fits. I myself and my "persona," Kain, are both obsessed with fire. What fire leaves behind, is ashes. Ash can cover the sky, blocking out light, but it is also something that help things grow. It's appears black at first, but when turned over, it's white.

I suppose if you wanted to take "Asher" as a verb, it might mean "that which turns things to ash."

Fun fact: I just looked up my sona's name (Mahao) in Google, and apparently its the Hawaiian slur for white people (mahaol) minus one letter. Guess that's one way to reclaim an insult :P

My name, EarthTurtle, didn't originate for the purpose as a furry
As a younger kid, I really wanted to get Minecraft, however, with the computer my family had at the time, the system requirements weren't met
So while I was waiting, I did lots of browsing, mainly "random page" on the wiki and YouTube videos
a LOT of youtube, esp paulsoaresjr and skydoesminecraft
fanboy of sky at the time, so thought, "hey, he said in only 1 video that he likes turtles, so thatll be part of my name, and idk, Earth? sounds cool"
Now, I've used the name so much that its my representation, and I can't think of going by another name
Even if I am a cat and not a turtle

Before becoming more involved in the furry stuff, I'd always used the same screen name online. But since that name was known by a lot of people I know in real life (I'd even published some stuff in my high school with it), I decided I wanted something else for my furry endeavors.

Yogurt, or NomuYogurt, was just something I chose on a whim. I was drinking a lot of strawberry-flavored drinkable yogurt at the time that I created my first fursona. I use it on some other sites.

Rufure is the katakana (Japanese) spelling of the main character's name from one of my favorite games, Fire Emblem: Awakening. (English is Robin, Japanese is Reflet, katakana is ルフレ (ru-fu-re).) I grabbed it for my character on the MMORPG Blade and Soul and the name just stuck.  :D

My other fursona, Kyr'am also just popped into my head, but I had already been using it for an RP on a non furry site.

my furry screen name some random wusky exists just because its just stating a fact.

my fursonas name is akira. its a japanese name meaning bright or luminous. since my fursona was supposed to be like me, i wanted it to reflect who i was. people say that i can be very lively, spirited, and i like to think that i shine a little light in peoples lives (whether thats true or not is another thing entirely). also i really liked the japanese language. thus: akira

I just acquired a partial blue fox fursuit  and had to give this guy a name. He has a happy-go-lucky look so I wanted something which reflected that. I couldn't use Varek as he's a gothic-influenced wolf, or Traveller, as he's a red fox. The name needed to be kind of amusing and off the wall, so I chose Dexter.

Well, I had the screen-name OutrunChaff actually (as strange as it may sound) thanks to Xbox. They have a random gamertag generator, and I got OutrunChaff. From there, it stuck, and when I decided my fursona was a Dutch Angel Dragon, I suppose I had the choice between Runner, Outrunner and Chaffie/y - the former sounded much more appropriate to me, for a Dutch AD at least.
A Dutch Angel Dragon hoping to fit in, is what I am!
