I was just wondering if the Post an IRL pic of Yourself thread should be viewable by the public... I noticed I could read it when I wasn't logged in.

Kind of concerned about that.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to "hide" individual threads when people aren't logged in. In order to do that, we'd have to "hide" the entire General Non-Furry Discussion forum so it wouldn't be visible when a person wasn't logged in, but was visible when you were logged in.

Just really concerns me regarding the security of the people who post, my concern being more for the younger members.

Posting a real pic of a person in that thread is optional. A person doesn't have to if they don't want to. But if a person does, then it is at their own risk. Millions or billions of people post their pics on the Net in various websites, galleries, journals, etc. How is that any different from Furtopia?

Do remember it's not just young members that post they're pictures it there. While they might not be so concerned where they post pictures I know a number of adults who are. Myself included.

Seem that people see this as a non issue.

It just had surprised me, especially after the hack... I was unaware that was viewable by the general public. I'm personally not worried about it in regards to myself, but it seems I was under a false assuption that it was one of those things that was protected by the login screen.

We can understand your concern and yes it is valid.  The mods are discussing it now for a vote and will deal with this shortly as possible.  We will let you know the final decision.

Seem that people see this as a non issue.

Naturally, its the same on ever other forum Ive seen with a pics thread.

Its not a big issue,if you have a pic that you dont want others to see, then obviously you shouldnt post it.

And if you have a pic that you want only the members to see, then do the same as every other forum: Post the pic in your profile(which CANNOT be viewed by non-members),then just leave a post in the pics thread saying your pics in your profile. It how its done on every forum Ive ever been on.
And if someone really really really wants to see the pics, theres nothing stopping them from making an account just to view the pics thread, and adult section for that matter.

I myself am weary of posting pics of myself online, and i can understand where the person who started the topic is comming from.(excuse me i forget her name. /fail) BUT, even if we were to make that board or topic only viewable by members of the forum, that /really/ doesnt help much. Afterall, anyone over the net may make an account and view those pictures.

the picture thread has now been moved into an area non-members cannot see.
