Background Pony Spotters

Use this Sub-Topic phread to post all your favorite background ponies doing what they do best; be in the background and do silly things.

I will start this off with Season 2, Episode 2; Derpy Hooves have been spotted at 20:52 in the audience of Princess Celestia's ball room when the mane 6 are walking down the aisle for the royal recognition of their friendship.

Where did you spot your favorite BGP?

Yeah I spotted Derpy as soon as she showed. I also noticed Berry Punch and Lyra a few times. I don't think I saw Bon Bon at all but given the amount of times she showed up cloned in the first episode of season 1 alone I think we have a quota met on her to last the end of season 2.

I love Octavia though, she has to be my favorite BG pony. The dark mane, cute bowtie, stylish coa and the ability to skillfully play a double bass with hooves.

I got love for Vinyl though as well but I wish folk would pronounce her name "Pony" instead of how it is spelled 'DJ Pon-3'. You don't pronounce the number, its like Deadmou5, you say it "Dead Mouse", not "Dead Mau Five". I dunno, maybe thee "-" in her nam throws folk off but me its pronounced "Pony".

But where did you spot them? Thats what this phread is for. Did you see Berry Punch drinking in the last couple episodes? Was Octavia playing her Contrabass when the Buffalo in Tutus were dancing across the screen?

Oh i got no clue, have to watch the episode again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again....  

Er.. anyway I don't think Octavia or Vinyl Scratch were in it, I was just mentioning them cuz they're background ponies.

Berry Punch spotted at 11:19 and in Twilight's flashback at 14:21



at 20:37 I have seen the following: two Berry Punches, four Carrot Tops, four Lyras, five Colgates, two Bon Bons, two of a yellow unicorn I don't know the name of.

*sings* And a pegasus in a pear tree.

Derpy spotted again actually earlier than befor at 20:41.

I feel acomplished enough now. I'll leave the rest to yall.

Derpy Spotted in S02 E03 at 18:13 fighting with the Mayor of Ponyville.

I saw many other BGPs in this episode, but I'm primarily a Derpy Hooves spotter so I'll let anypony else find the others.

Derpy is pretty easy to spot so I went with an obsucre one.

in the new episode "Luna Eclipsed" I spotted Octavia playing a fiddle on stage at 2:37.

I liked his new "Eeeeeenope!"

When it comes to background characters, I like them but I don't try to spot them in the background. I like them when they're brought to the foreground for a bit. Like Derpy fighting the mayor, or Bon Bon (I think? I don't know all the who's who) having her speaking part when going after the doll in Lesson Zero.

As a few mentioned already, lots of Derpy in this episode. She even got a nice little cameo close-up today and I was very happy to see she had the now famous googly eyes again.

I didn't see Vinyl Scratch the first time around. On my 2nd viewing I'll pay more attention, I'm sure she's gotta be there somewhere. I can so see her as an 80's style rocker girl costume. No idea what Dr Whooves would wear, if anything. I'd love to see him in a beige trenchcoat and multi colored scarf.

Great spot with Octavia Kaloyan. I missed that too 1st time.

Um... if that's supposed to be her, she dyed her fur. That's a yellow'ish, maybe off white colored pony playing the fiddle. There's also the knight pony in that same shot. I think it's kinda cool, if not a bit creepy, that she made her tail into a mace. So many good costumes in that episode.

Any guesses as who the pony is in the ghost costume on Luna Eclipsed? LOL
