I think it's needed.

The problem, in my view, with rage topics is that they do not invite discussion and can quickly lead on to swearing, hatred to groups or individuals, or other things which go against the site rules.

Kobuk:
Loc is right, Fire.

If you want to rage, a better solution is on Twitter, Facebook, or some other social media site if you have an account.
