3 new pieces colored!
« on: May 07, 2004, 05:36:44 pm »
This is one of my silhouttes. I have been coloring the black in the past with marker but this time I decided to try my acrylics. Though I love the affects I can do with the brushes it uses way too much black to be really worth using for this type of picture.

This one is of a dragon. I call it "The Happy Dragon". He was just a goof off piece a while back. (smiles)  *markers and Prisma pencils*

I forgot that I even drew this one! Of course I did because it is my style but I didn't remember doing it. (smiles) *markers and Prisma pencils"

This one I thought was cute, "Dance for You?".

I will post more as I get them finished.

They're great Kada! I love how intense the marker colors show up on the dragon, and the smooth soft fur texture of the fox.

Doing a silhouette like that probably costs plenty of black paint. Have you tried thinning it with water? (Just for the hill; the water and the figure look very nice with the dry brush strokes.)

I've been watching Ayame's artwork blossom and she uses the markers and pencils. I just didn't have the guts to try them till now. I really like how they compliment each other and I get that vivid coloring I see in her work. I will most likely finish the rest of my AC sketches with the markers and pencils.

I'm still working on getting the fur textures better. Practice always helps and I doubt I will ever run out of it! (LOL)

Yes, but then it wouldn't have that deep black coloration if I thinned it down with water.

(giggles) Yes, I like how the water and tree tops came out with the brush strokes. hmmm... (light bulb lights up)

I really like the dragon too. I will have to create more of him. Well, I do have a couple more to color so there is not telling how they will turn out! (smiles)

That dragon is very beautifully colored.  I like the intensity of the markers.  It's the best of the three! '<img'>

Yes, I like it the best too. I am having troubles getting away from the natural colors on my other works. This dragon was a fun release. I may have to start doing something different with my foxes etc. now too! (giggles)

I'm trying more intense colors with my digital painting.  I'm trying to simulate animation cels with their very intense colors.  I'd like to attempt some marker drawings.
