Easy foods to eat when ill?
« on: January 10, 2014, 04:24:43 am »
Hey, I'm hungry, but I have no appetite, I haven't eaten for about 3 days, and I need to eat something soon, I feel sick when I try putting something in my mouth, but sick with hunger too.

Does anyone know any good foods that are easy to stomach?

Thank you.

Often times it's best to ease into eating when in a situation like this.  Start eating slowly, and then you'll feel better as the food enters your stomach.  It's just the initial start that can be sickening.

Thank you, soft breads seem nice, I may try soup tomorrow.

Yeah, I kind of force fed myself some sandwiches earlier, and mow I have stomach cramps, it seems like the less you eat, the less you want to :P

Something warm and soft, like maybe some broth. Add some veggies into that and let it cook, maybe some small pieces of chicken and some small egg noodles or something. You don't really want big chunks of anything, just something you can sip on and kinda nibble on.

I agree with Magna and Kobuk--hot broths, soups, crackers help. Ginger ale is perfect for indigestion also. :) Feel better soon!

I survived on peanut butter toast and ginger ale for nearly a month when I had pneumonia and bronchitis.

When I was very sick, the first thing I ate for several days was Jell-o. Seems crazy, but it actually agreed with me very well and made me feel much better.  :D

Raw ginger plants clear your nose out. Tea and apples work, dragonfruit are good.
