Trends among fursona species

As you have interacted with furries during your adventures, have you noticed any trends between people who have the same fursona species? If so what? (example: Foxes tend to have XXX as traits and do YYY things and are ZZZ people, its kinda like a new type of personality test, only with a much lower accuracy rating, and much more for funs)

Anyways, in my experiences…

I’ve yet to meet a rabbit that wasn’t helpful, or eager to help someone in some way.

I don’t know many with bird fursonas, but the few that I’ve run into have all been skilled artists.

And while not all… most of the dragons that I’ve met, I’d described as bellicose.

And once… long, long ago, mutant skunks were known to drink lots of coffee.

Dragons vary more than any other fursona.

Also the necro (is that right?) fursonas seem to talk more and are better at feeling and depth.

You might want to go with "Necro" or "Lich", because "necrophiliac" actuality means something very, very different.

I could never realy make that determination, there is so much diversity among an one species. I think alot of it has to do with the reason why an individual choose their sperices.

For examople, say there are three people wanting to be a fox. Persona A wants to be one because he relates to traits and features. Person B wants to be one because he had some kind of connection/exsperice with it. While person C only wants to be one because it' looks cool. These people choose the sme species, but there will be little more commonalty then that.

I haven't been a furry long enough to say, but I noticed that most foxes and domestic cats are really fun and random.

I agree with Avor on this. Your fursona is such a personal thing, and everyone is attracted to different species for different reasons. There are plenty of people who became foxes just because everyone else was a fox, but I'm sure there are just as many who became foxes because they feel a deep connection to the species.

Really, the only fair generalization you can make is that rabbits are the most amazing, fascinating, beautiful, well-mannered people of all. *strikes a pose*

If you're speaking about what I think you're speaking about, necro is fine.  Undead furs also works.  Some refer to certain types of undead canines as skulldogs.

The only problem with lich is it's a specific type of undead.  Don't think vampires or zombies would want to be called liches or vice versa, so on and so forth.  You're right though, I'm not a necrophiliac.

eh...my friends a wolf, and he likes to have fun all the time and mess around all the time...i even like to have fun and mess around all the time too...but i really haven't met enough furries...

I keep hearing a stereotype that says that a lot of dragons are either arrogant elitists or god mode Mary Sue/Gary Stus. I don't see it. I've talked to several dragons over the years and they've all been decent folks. Nothing like the stereotypes I've heard.

If you mean thru the internet, then the reason you don’t notice any nasty ones,
Is because anyone who acts like an arrogant jerk, often gets the same treatment in return.

They don’t find anyone that they can get along with, so they don’t stick around for very long,
In the end, such individuals are not around for more than a week or two, and then you’re left with the nicer, more decent people.

And that's the truth for everyone, not just the dragons.

It is… the natural order, of all things… (on the internet.)

I feel pretty strongly against trying to pull trends out based on someone's species.  There's too much variation coupled with too small of a sample base, especially with the more pervasive species such as canines, felines, and dragons.  For every stereotype that I've been told and have met, I've met at least one other person of the same species who defies it.  It's all observational bias in the end, but… I think furry's a bit too personal to say anything with confident accuracy.

I'm aware, sorry if I came off a little too intense.  Just, in the past I've had the fact that I'm 'x species' used against me because every other of 'x species' so far has acted in a negative way.  It's not quite the same as pulling trends from hobbies or fashions, those tend to be far less personal and emotionally invested into than someone's species.  Of course that doesn't apply to everyone and the thread is pretty harmless, but that's why I felt so strongly about it.

Yeah, I know how you feel.  Thanks to my species (fox), I suppose I should be male, gay, and have the libido of a bunny on viagra.  I think I rather fit the actual animal pretty well, but I don't really live up to the furry anthro fox stereotype aside from maybe the libido thing, but even as far as that's concerned, I prefer to have one long-term mate rather than going after everything in sight.

Moogles are by far the most unique and beautiful furry species. put quite simply, we are awesome. A all we moogle share this trate. Its hard work becoming so awesome and I admit it we are gloriessly magnanimouse creatures. And those we choose to occupy our pressense around are very lucky to know us. but save your thanks, dont worry our awesomness is free. We dont charge a dime.

We also share an uncanny close relationship with our ungulate friends the chocobo. As close a peanut butter to jelly.

There is an automatice wonderfulness to our amazing grace that serrounds us. and it inlightens and beautifies the world arround us. ^_^
