Well this is the first word, hope it goes well and I hope we get some really good photos!!
Just a quick reminder, the deadline is this Sunday! Keep digital manipulation to a minimum and remember for sake of loading times could you please post links to pictures rather than the photo itself! Could you please include a little description too please! Thanks!! ^^

Ok, the subject for this week is:

             Colour
"Beyond the darkness is a door to the light,
A door to your soul...

When darkness falls
Allow the light of your heart to guide you

Hope burns brighter than any star
And will shine long after the last star dies"

Here are two-
Colours in the sky Taken just at dusk overlooking the field next to my house.
Mixed colours Taken at midnight in my garden. I liked how lighting system and the fill from the flash accent the shadows in the logs and ivy.

Both pics taken with an Olympus C700 Ultra Zoom.

"Colour of Modern Life" (49KB) - photo of the afternoon sky

I wasn't too sure how to explain the photo, so I wrote a poem to go with it, but it was too long to post here, so I wrote another one and kept it short.

The sky is clear blue,
the clouds are storm grey,
the sun is bright yellow
and the trees are deep green.

But the aerials they call out to me,
showing me the colours of this world.
But when I return late in the day,
where have all the colours gone?

Photo taken with an Olympus C-730 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera from my verandah on the 13th August, 2004 at 3:50pm and was inspired by the song Aerials by System of a Down.

edit: realised I hadn't really described the picture at all and tweaked the poem

Here's mine. It's a close up of one of my most prized possessions, the foundation of one of my reptile projects.

I think all of the pics are really great!! I am glad this is not a competion, any judge would be hard pushed to find a winner!
I think its gone quite well don't you think? Mind you, I would have liked it if there were more.

I thought it went well, but I think the word may of been too generic for the first time.

Or maybe the word just confused the Americans with its "U", just kidding '<img'>

lol thats a very good point.
I just happened to pick the word out of a conversation I was having with someone at the time, the next one should be a hopefully a bit less generic lol
