Mak Attack
« on: November 16, 2008, 01:29:49 pm »
Hello everybody, I suppose I should introduce myself. The name is Makir (online at least IRL 'tis Greg) and I don't have much interesting going on in my life right now. I am a junior in high school and absolutely LOVE math. I am talking Calculus and plan on getting a dual major in math and education, and becoming a math teacher. I also love to write and have about 10-20 half finished novels that I can't seem to get to the end of to get them published.

About me personally, I have noticed that I alternate between being very cynical and being extremely optimistic, sometimes both at the same time if that is possible o.o. Though to be frank it is just the outer part of who I am that fluctuates once you get to know me a bit better, you will find that I am always optimistic and love to help people. As I put it once, I have the heart of a poet the vocabulary of an orator, and the mettle of a coward (Meaning that I feel like a poet, come up with the perfect way to say everything, then chicken out and wind up not saying it as eloquently as I planned) I am really a nice guy, trust me ;)

Hmmm... can't think of anything else to say, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer

On a math-related note, have you learned to program your graphing calculator yet? You can't leave high school without doing that!

Indeed! I bow down all respects and honors to you!

Since I'm curious, what's you favorite/best program?

Mine is one that can solve any triangle through the use of Trigonometry (though it doesn't take into consideration other possibilities for solutions. It only solves for one if one.)

Graphing calculators! I forgot about those entirely! :-[

<-- *became a history major after high school*

I do remember playing around with programming them, though... usually during my math classes.... ;) I was mostly all about the games, though. My favorite game was one whose title I shall not post here due to this being a family-friendly forum. ;)

Never heard of those, but then again I'm so awful with math that I had no choice but to take remedial math in high school. Very embarrassing.

Hey everyone, it has been quite a while since I've posted in this thread I suppose. My apologies to the staff for the grave digging, but I felt it would be more appropriate to revive this thread for this post rather than create a new one. This is especially true considering that this will likely be my last post here. It's been a weird ride since I registered in May of '08, and I can hardly believe it has been 4 years. Since that point in life a lot of things have changed.

I am making this post as a farewell to everyone I have met here in my stay. Again I apologize for this, but I'd rather not just disappear like many of the people I have known here.

For those of you wondering why I have made the choice to leave. It's simple really, I joined here at a time in my life where I was mostly outcast by my peers. This led me to look online, and I found here as a community that accepted me and gave me praise. Over the years though I have slowly grown to realize that furry is not so much my cup of tea. And now that I've reached the point in life where I'm at college, and have made friends with interests far more similar to my own, I realize how wrong the fandom was for me. With that, I bid you all a fond farewell.

~Kaloth
