My species doesn't but I do.

It originally was a "cool, I like it" reason, but recently it's reminded me more and more that there is a leash tied onto me which I cannot break no matter how hard I try, and it's called being a Human ;)

I lost my collar last week though. It's at home SOMEWHERE but I've no idea where! *cries*

I dont have a collar but I do have a silver and malachite choker that has a dogtaglike pendant, (a flat heartshape). Its pretty nice and sortof collarlike in how it wears.

I wear a collar more as a symbol of my furriness than anything else. *shrugs* I rarely have the patience to actually explain it though.

Crows wear collars, only theirs arn't really collars and they go on the feet (jesses) :p. but to most, yeah they're just a symbol not so much to do with their actual species.

Hmm... Don't think hyenas wear collars very often. ;)

I don't have a collar, though I might get one sometime in the future.

I don't were a collar and my species normally doesn't, but there is a chance that some skunks might since skunks can be pets.

Um... I'm not an expert on rabbits. (even though my neighbors own them) do they wear collars?

Probably not, eh?

my species if (as far as we know from our discoveries mythic, as a winged anthro black panther....though aren't all anthros (as far as we know) mythic? anyways, I don't wear one, I see them as something hjolding you back, something tying you down to the place you're at.....though, for special occasions, I'd wear one.

Some have no doubt put collars onto wolves, but the species doesn't normally wear them.
Personally I don't care to wear one.
There's nothing wrong with it, but wolves are supposed to run free, not be reduced to domesticated pets (though I suppose our dogs wouldn't exist if our ancestors hadn't done so).
Anyway, wearing a collar doesn't feal right for me, but it's cool that some furs do.

I am a gryphon, and gryphons can and sometimes do wear decorative collars. However I believe they are mor likely to wear a harness bearing thier insignia and any gear they may have (wouldn't be much gear for a four legged gryphon ), I don't wear a collar but I would gladly wear such a harness. I would have to be leather, black if possible.

No collars for me, thank you. Don't like 'em, don't want one, to me they represent the loss of and a restraint or restriction on my being free.

wolves don't wear collars and neither do I. I do have a fasination with chokers though. I never leave the house with out a choker on. Would that be like a collar?

I think a mookitty is mythic. ^^

Part cat -- if I want to wear a collar I can (although leopards in the wild don't normally have collars...)
Part cow -- Well, sometimes they have nose piercings, so I guess it'll be okay if I get one. xD

Well... As a Mystical Fox, to a certain extent, I guess it's up to me. But not even normal Foxies use collars, do they...

Not exactly sure what species and collars have to do with one another. Though, I havent really been keeping track on the lifestyles much these days. Elaboration required.

It's probably similar to why many Christians wear crosses.  Or I could be completely wrong. :)

I wear a collar daily (black with metal studs); I've got three different ones in different styles depending on where I go! I've even got a "special occasion" collar I wear when I need to look semi-presentable! (Fuschia with a gold buckle!;) (:  I've worn collars for a while, didn't know they were being associated with furries before.

My species is an original species... err, made up, basically.  But they don't wear collars, or wouldn't.

I do.  But I would even if I wasn't a fur... so I guess I don't count. XD

I wear a collar, I've had it since 8th grade. It's a kitty collar with a bell, and my name tag. ^-^; But after becoming more open to the idea of secondary fursonas, I may get a dog collar to wear when I'm feeling a little more.. Wolfie. XD

Of course wolves don't.
IRL I'm getting a collar (black with a couple small spickes and a hook) in a couple days, and I already have a nice green leash. I'm planning on just wearing them when I hanging with friends. I guess I'm a domesticated wolf. :D

I don't, my speices doesn't.  I did wear a collar in my "younger" days.  But it was acutally a choke collar with a padlock... and it wasn't furry related.  Also had multi colored hair at the time too.

I love being me.   (:

My species is one of those made up ones so we can do whatever we want. I wear a dog collar on occasion. My fursona does too somtimes.

I'm not much for the collar thing, but I do wear a raven medallion around my neck.  It belongs to RavenessWolf.  She wears my Celtic Cross necklace.

No collars for me.. its just not my thing. I wear Patrick's celtic cross and I have a black wolf on a chain with feathers on either side. That's more than enough for me!  :)

to me a collar symbolizes slavery and oppression and I like to think of my fursona as being wild and untamed.

Well, my species is made up, in its own setting, its a highly advanced one based off of (and made from) humans, just far more behaved . . .I guess they could wear chokers/collars if they wanted, I dont though. . .at least not yet.

One of my reasons for chosing a silver fox (with platinum fox blood) was because as a species it is domesticated, but is also wild, which suits me fine. I like that ambiguity and it reflects me. I wear a collar on occasion, but not because I'm a furry, although I mean to get around to making a velvet choker with my two golden bells on it.

my species doeant wear a color and neather do i. i drew my char with a choker that looked like a collor once. but i'm not big on having things around my neck.... makes me feel submissive.
Title: Species and collars
Post by: Ciasmi Violette on January 24, 2005, 02:20:55 pm
my species wears one, and i somewhat do. Im one of those poor furries that cant buy anything on his own, so he has to make it, so i just recently made my own chain-linked collar.

Why i wear it? Well, its not because im submissive (im really submissive...even though im a silver wolf....o.o;)
Its like what Raef said long time ago, somewhat. Theres a constant leash tied onto us constantly, inwhich no one can break, and that is being Human. Since not everyone can wear fursuits out in public, i wear my collar to symbolize my furriness.

xD ok...that that i read what i typed...that makes no sense whatso ever...but you get the idea im going for..

My species doesn't wear collars but I do.  Mainly to represent my furriness and to hold the tag my gf got me for christmas.  It represents that I belong to her and she belongs to me.

I do. Wolves don't. The only reason I wear it is cuz i'm a furry...just no one knows thats why. And they wont know for as long as I can help it.

I wear a collar on occasion, but it is more because I think it goes with what I'm wearing, or because I'm in an odd mood and it seems like a good idea.  I'm very impulsive in that respect
