How about a Live chat room?

Another forum I regular has it's own IRC channel and it helps bring the community together.

As a new member I think it would be nice to get to know everyone, and for everyone to get to know me through some sort of channel.

If this has been brought up before I'm sorry, but then again I would REALLY like to have this experience.  Any input?

Yep, as Sav said, we have an IRC network, and you can also access it by clicking on the Live Chat at the top of the page, or connecting your favorite IRC client to irc.furtopia.org:6007

Depends on what client you use, really. Trillian has a lot of emoticons built in. mIRC, on the other paw, has pretty much none.

Why does it use Java?  I HAVE mIRC (though I don't know exactly how to get to furtopia's channel).

Could I just use mIRC?
