Custom themes
« on: July 12, 2010, 06:33:09 pm »
I was curious about the different themes, and I noticed something. I find the 'furtopia info' theme more useful than the default one, but the color scheme just doesn't seem to match the layout. My suggestion is: Could there be editable versions of 'furtopia' and 'furtopia default' where you can do simple things like change the background colors and such?

Similar ideas has been suggested before plus as you saw the info theme is not quite right. I can fix this but I haven't as yet. I might though since it appears the server move is taking awhile.

Having fully customisable theme is beyond anything we can do right now or even something the forum is capable of supporting without major changes to the base code.

Actually... a lightly "customizable" ability would in-fact be possible through the use of a multi-theme; ie, devdb's forums use helios-multi (http://forums.devdb.org); by clicking the little colored bars at the top, it switches style sheets to allow for different color schemes.

Still, that would likely be a lot of work, though then again, furtopia uses fewer images and more things like html-rendered borders and background color and text color, so making multiple style sheets would not be as big of a problem as there are fewer images to mess with than in an image-heavy style such as helios (helios has to have each of its border images recolored for every single color scheme)
