Furry musicians/composers?
« on: May 20, 2014, 07:43:20 pm »
Do any other furs like to play instruments? I looove my saxophone and guitar. I'm gonna be like a Kenny G in a fursuit at anthrocon in 2018.

Awesome BassCreator!

You bet there is. I've met a few really talented furies. I'm currently finishing up a fourth original. Going to play at a blues festival next month. Be my very first time playing and singing by myself on stage.

I moved this thread here on account of it being a thread on the musical arts.  There's an app a subforum for that!

Well, I used to play guitar, and now do electronic production using FL Studio.

Does that count?

In my eyes, music is music, idc if it's edited, music is still music and will always be, so yes it does count.

I'm an avid lover of the double bass; I had to leave it at home when I left for university, but now that I'm back home I'm trying to get back up to speed so I can audition for a performance class next semester. :)

Well I've been playing the flute for quite a while now, I've played in a few youth orchestras/wind bands etc doing classical and modern stuff (film scores and the like). I also love playing bass (mainly metal/alternative rock) and I know the all-important four chords on an acoustic guitar which you could say have served me well on one or two occasions  ;)

Musician reporting for duty.

I play the electric guitar and the electric violin. Looking forward to getting my Stick; I imagine I shall bond with it for hours once it is completed and delivered.

I compose as well, primarily hard rock and/or metal with some prog elements thrown in. I suppose what I write has something of a Baroque quality to it.

I guess I'll say what I do here. I play the bass, the violin, the piano, and I'm a musician in electronic music using Ableton Live. It's my hobby, making people dance and have fun.

I've written a few things here and there (mostly classical style piano sonatas)... a lot is done digitally to write and perfect things, then I'll play it on the piano for the master recording.
Though that's pending that I get that far, as a lot of my work is incomplete. Especially lately, as I haven't been able to play my piano (electric keyboard) as there's a problem in the audio output, and I can't find the right part to fix it. So I'm kind of stuck doing everything digitally for now.

I also play the guitar, though I'm not as proficient with it as I am with the piano.

My primary instrument is the trombone, with symphonic and jazz styles being my favorite. I also have basic knowledge/ability on guitar, bass, and piano. I've taught myself to produce some electronic music too, with the help of FL Studio. I do some composition as well, but sadly the most interesting pieces either come to me in dreams or late at night when I'm too tired to write them down (it can also be kind of difficult to transcribe full orchestral pieces from your head :P).

I am a trombonist and I take it pretty seriously. I even have a private teacher. I mostly picked the instrument because the range of notes was pretty good and I overall liked the tone and feeling. And on the flip side the extra added fun is that it looks like the instrument came out of a military testing field  8)(but that's not the real reason I picked the instrument).

I play keyboard and dabble with other various synthesizers but I usually make my stuff digitally.  I'm an ambient, industrial, and noise musician.

Well I've been playing the flute for quite a while now,
I play flute too! When I came to my school, the band teacher had to prepare for the annual parade through the next town. He could not help me. Luckily,  in sixth grade I payed attention to my band director. And from the little bit of info I remembered, I was able to teach myself to play. Anybody else teach themselves to play an instrument?
