The drawing turned out well. I like your shading. Good shading
always gives a drawing depth and brings out the details. :orbunny:

Thank ye kindly, good sir!

Thank you much, sir!  :)

Here are some random guys I made up the other day - kinda thinking of turning it into a comic or something...

Glad you like them, Iara! They were really fun to draw.  :)

Thank you Old Rabbit! I agree with you on that - it has been interesting looking into different animals, how they are built and act.

I did a more normal Redwallish picture recently - not actually Redwall, but some have been saying it reminds them of Rakkety Tam.

You nailed the "I-have-duty-and-I'm-really-bored-please-somebody-attack-so-I-can-finally-stab-someone-with-my-spear" look on his face. Did you pick that tartan for a reason?

I have often thought it would be interesting to have a world with
anthro animal character societies. Might make the food chain difficult
but is interesting to think about, and makes for great stories, and
art that is food for our imagination.

Keep up the good work. :orbunny:

Gonna be a BIIIG art post today.  :D

Bahaha - yeah, I imagine I'd have a similar look while on guard duty. x)

Nah, no particular reason behind the tartan pattern for this one - just wanted some highland influence in there somewhere. I love the Scots and Irish in particular among a few others when it comes to historical ethnic styles: there's just a lot of robustness to it.

I was working on something of that sort a long time ago - a story that revolved around the idea of animals and humans both having proper sapience. I wouldn't go too far into it, but there would be a lot of differences with technology, social life, religion and warfare, among other things. It's really interesting to think about.  (:

Saxon from the Mouseguard comics!

I always thought those old pictures of kids working in coal mines were really interesting: inspiring and a bit horrifying at the same time!

Meditation. Inspired by the game "Overgrowth".

An alternative rendition of a member of the Trench Gang - from the game "Tooth and Tail".

A little monster guy I drew up: originally it was going to be fanart of Manny from "Faceless Neil".

I like how well you capture the mood in a drawing. Meditation and the coal miners especially made me think of this. ... and your little monster dude is frighteningly cute.

Thanks, Varg! :) I've learned a lot about composition over the last couple years which has really helped with finding little things that can set the tone: making the pose, expression, and environment work with the overall design to make the mood. I've been learning that having sharp edges is also very important for keeping it focused and clean-looking. Glad you like them!

Thank you, Iara! I will certainly try to do so. (:

A badger commission for my friend Mulchior.

Something a little colder-themed for winter. I haven't watched It or Stranger Things, and I want to, but never get around to it, so I guess this is sort deriving from those themes a bit.

Some Redwall-inspired work:I had this idea of some characters imprisoned on a galley, ready to escape, but a drunken guard nearly catches them in the act.

Wow! I love all of these.
The last two,  what medium,  graphite and paper? Digital?
I like how you captured the glint of light on the sword.
Very nice!

Thank you, Jade!

The squirrel was done in graphite and edited on my laptop with GIMP. I used that to make the lights a bit lighter and the darks a bit darker - particularly the eyes and the sword glint. I used a blur brush too.

The mouse was done in graphite as well, but the background is partly done in marker, and a similar editing process was used through the laptop.
