Ariana jumped down from Emily's shoulder and started cutting clusters of berries from the smashed bush. "You crushed them, you shiny armored oaf!" Even though she shouted, her voice was tough to hear; surprisingly not extremely high pitched. "And as for you travelers, we live kinda out that way..." (I assume you meant Lupirnen?)

"That would probably be a bad idea." Aurora said. "She's out on the battlefield... Not to mention i can defend myself quite well... I take it whomever it was at the door wasn't a friend?"

Kodoku looked to Ariana. "You say that as if I wanted to land on them." He said wondering whether he should join them or not to wherever. He wasn't getting back with no batteries and obviously time travel is magic. In a way he did know some magic, but not really the same thing as they probably though of it. Then he got back to Lupenren? Luperir? Something. "I wasn't but... If that's the closest place to here. I'd join you."

Blades nodded "Alright, maybe it wouldn't hurt to travel together for the time being. After all, these are some rather dangerous times with the civil war and all." he looked over to Kodoku "Maybe Queen Prowl can help this um...fur here." Faye nodded at his statement "Alright, let's get going then Blades...maybe we can finally rest then." Leilani answered.

"Ariana, pick the runeberry bush clean and then we'll head back. Surely we can stop at Baroness Carlotta's manor along the way." Emily said

"Well..." Alistar answered. "It was a guard but he just...just...just dropped deaf for some reason and I got a bad feeling about it. I sense something dark nearby. Princess Aurora you best stick close to me."

Kodoku watched as the one group started to leave off towards this place. He waited though figuring the two that he ran into were better to stick around. Considering the one didn't try to stab him or something yet. He stopped a little ways from her but did wait so they could all get going together. "Sorry for running into you lot."

Blades looked as Emily set out with Ariana with the sack full of runeberrys. He saw his friends were tired and that perhaps sticking with a local might not be so bad. "Wait up Miss...we'll go with you. We are kind of tried and need some rest...not easy to find a place to rest with all this war and whatnot."

"I suppose but...something's just wrong Aurora." Alistar answered. he peered out a window and shut the curtains quickly "You need to be kept safe, from here on out consider me your personal bodyguard."

Kodoku overheard well, pretty much everything. He was learning a little about what was going on though nothing to really tell him when he was. He just walked with everyone otherwise and looked all around, it was hard to think this was where he was not too long ago... Or a really long time from now. Something.

"Right" Emily answered "we can also stick to the back roads if need be, takes longer but in theory would be safer." She began to head down the path, Ariana on her shoulder, Blades and group following close behind her. She looked at Kodoku "Hey...you coming? You might find an answer or two if you come with."

"I understand...i'm just concerned is all. wouldn't want the daughter of Queen Prowl to go missing in my company is all..." Alistar answered, looking out the window. "...lest I incur the receiving end of her wrath..."

Ariana stood and flitted over to Kodoku's shoulder, then landed. "Do you not have a blade or anything? Just magic?"

"I understand. Seems like anymore that's the only thing I can get from her, though." Aurora sighed and sat back down, then drew her blade and started running a sharpening stone over its edge. "Since these rebels attacked, that is."

Kodoku looked to Emily and then nodded catching up and walking with them. Ariana. The one who had put a blade to him and pretty much denied his whole story, sat on his shoulder. He was rather surprised by her question and yet not. She obviously didn't think time travel was possible so guns were just magic. "Well in my ti- uh. Where I'm from it's quite common to use these. Magic tools." It was weird saying it that way but of course that's what it took to get anywhere at the moment.

"Magic...tools? Interesting, never heard much about those." Emily answered as she continued along the trail.

Leilani looked at Kodoku "Magic tools? Do you mean like alchemy?" she asked curiously.

"Well Aurora...whatever you wanna do, i'll follow you. We can stay here, head to the castle...your call." Alistar answered. "Whatever you decide, i'll respect and do my utmost to keep you safe."

"So, your armor? That too is magic?" Ariana asked, sitting. "It kinda reminds me of mine... All glow-y and such... Where did you say you're from again?"

"I suppose I'd probably better check in with my ... Babysitters." Aurora said, standing and sheathing her sword. If I could see the castle above the houses here, I could navigate back on my own... As it is, I actually managed to get lost."

"Ma'am." A guard knocked against the center post supporting the doorway to Prowl's pavilion, waking her from her quick rest. "There's a mercenary here to see you."

"Send him in and ready my mount. I get done here, we're returning to battle." Prowl stood and started wiping off what blood and mud wasn't dried on to her armor.

"Yes, ma'am." The guard waved the Tharsus in. "The platoon will await your commands."

Kodoku looked to Emily and then Ariana. "Well. Uh. I guess you could call it alchemy." He said looking to answers pretty much all of their questions about his armour and weapons with he didn't really know. Then of course there was where he was from. "Here. I'm from... Well where I ran into you." He was seriously getting tired of lying especially when there was a difference between magic and science. Although it could be looked at that way.

Tharsus moved through to where the guard waved him to. He was a little unsure of the whole working for royalty thing, but it payed pretty well so he didn't mind so much. He walked over to a respectable distance from her his staff clinking as he went since he used it like a walking stick. He kneeled for a moment and then stood again and looked her over. "Quite specific job you have. Am I to learn what all I'm doing now?" He asked since he was invited before with no information.

"Alright, I would have guess armor enchanting perhaps but if it's alchemy then it's alchemy." Emily answered. "C'mon everyone, Baroness Carlotta has rooms to accommodate all of us."

Blades looked at Emily in surprise "Baroness Carlotta? You work for her?" "Yes, not to mention I am also her mate." she answered to him, looking at the trail ahead "Alright, just a few miles down the road. Then we can all have a hot meal and warm beds to nap in...not to mention maybe sort some of all this out."

Alistar looked at Aurora "We could always stick around here for a little while. But if you wish to check in with them, I'd be more than happy to escort you." Alistar was shuffling his deck of tarot cards while he talked as if it were second nature.

"She's real proud of the fact that she has a mate, and it just happens to be the baroness." Ariana explained to Kodoku. "They love eachother, too. I know by how hard it is to sleep sometimes."

"I'd ask you to read my future, but I'm afraid I tamper with time too much for you to get a good read." Aurora said, humming a strange song as she moved to the door. "We'd best check in with my guards."

"Yes... To a degree." Prowl said, cleaning her armor. "You are for hire, correct? That means the rebels out there could have bought your services instead of me doing so. For right now, I will pay 50 gold per day for you to protect a very important person. My daughter. She has been slipping away from her guard squad as of late... You will go into the city, find her, and speak this phrase: Ver Lupireth syne ve. She will understand."

(Alright, money system: 10 coppers = 1 silver. 10 silvers = 1 gold. Most transactions are in coppers. Ex: leather gloves cost 2 coppers.)

Kodoku didn't really need a bed or anything right now. He wanted to get back to his own time instead. The dang suit worked a little too well. "Let's call it that then." He replied as she settled on letting it be alchemy. Then of course there was the info of the baroness and her friend he didn't need to know. "That's wonderful... Glad they are holding a good relationship." He said trying not to sound rude about it. Hearing that it wasn't far now he picked up the pace just a little bit. He wanted to find some actual help, if anyone actually believed in time travel...

Tharsus kept a rather apathetic look. Even as fifty gold a day was mentioned. "Yeah. Anyone with some kind of coin could have their freedom guaranteed if they pointed me towards the right furson to silence." He leaned off and on his lance for a moment as if he was thinking. "Well. I'm here, and the job's got coin... So yeah. Deal." He stood up straight again and readied to leave. "Where would suggest looking?"

"C'mon Ariana. Barely know the guy for five minutes and you start tossing our personal dirt at him?" Emily retorted to her, seeming a bit apologetic to Kodoku. She wiped her brow quickly. "Forgive her...she can be a bit...ummm...loose-lipped from time to time. Anyways, Baroness Carlotta might be able to get you in with Queen Prowl. She might know what's going on with all this...could also try consulting Alistar about this."

Blades and Faye walked with the group holding hands, Leilani close by them. "First Emily and the Baroness, now you two?" Blades looked at Leilani with a smile "Yeah....maybe not to that um...level but yeah, we like each other." He put his free hand on her shoulder "Now c'mon...we'll get you some water and a little time to rest. You'll feel better."

"Alrighty then Princess Aurora, you lead the way." Alistar still got a bad feeling about leaving the shop. He quickly drew a few cards, looking them over for their attributes. "Alright...will work in a pinch..." he said placing them on the top of his deck.

Ariana stuck her tongue out at Emily and grinned. "I like to tease them, too... Get my justice, if you will."

Aurora frowned and shook her head. "I don't know the way back..." By her tone of voice, it was obvious she was quite embarrassed by this fact.

"Check at the castle first." Prowl said. "If she is not there, ask her guards if they've seen her. I'm paying enough, you should be able to figure it out from there."

Kodoku nodded and waved as if it was okay. "It's alright. It wouldn't be the first time hearing that sort of thing." He said looking to Emily. "Who's Alistar?" He asked trying to get a good idea of what all went on in this time. Hopefully he didn't run into anyone crazy enough to kill him over being from the future. Which for some reason seemed like everyone so far.

Tharsus nodded. "Of course. A good start would be all I need." He looked around the room and then back to Prowl. "Well. I'll be on the way then." He said not turning to leave. "When might I see the first day's pay? And from whom?" He asked just before leaving.

"Oh, Alistar's a fortune teller. Usually he drifts about the world but recently he rooted down in the capital. Trust me, he ain't a quack I can sense it." Emily answered. After a while the Carlotta manor came into view. "Ah, here we are. She should be up and about by now."

Blades, Faye, and Leilani all smiled a bit at the sight of the manor "Warm beds, a good meal...all sounds so good right now..." Blades said. Faye smiled "Not the idetrip I expected to take but well worth it."

"Hey, fret not child. I been to the castle now and again." Alistar said trying to reassure her a bit. "Just stick with me and i'll get you there."

"Should I make sure she's decent?" Ariana asked, standing and flying over to Emily. "I know her almost as well as I do you..."

Aurora nodded and started walking in the direction she had come from, that being her best choice to start with. After a block or so, she started singing. "If I go crazy, then will you still call me superman? if I'm alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might. Kryptonite."
(Yes, this would imply she has travelled to modern times, be it accidentally or on purpose.)

"I will pay you myself, each night." Prowl replied. "I do not stay in the camp at night, not since a battle I fight when I was 19. That is a story for another time. i will be in the castle tonight, though. Now, go."

Kodoku listened as Emily explained who Alistar was. Though considering how things were going he could probably believe just about anything. Then of course warm beds were mentioned again among other things. It was hard to believe that this place would grow to be one of the largest cities around one day. At least from seeing it now.

Tharsus nodded and left simply enough after that. The castle was the first stop and hopefully the only stop. He didn't enjoy looking for the mark if he didn't have to. Pushing through crowds and walking casually when there was no one, he headed straight to the castle. Maybe he would clip a flag to his lance. Make it much easier to others that he was on business for Prowl. Surely then they wouldn't just stand there and expect explainations. Guards were bored though, so it was somewhat understandable.

"No need Ariana, i'm sure she's fine." Emily answered as they walked to the front door of the manor. Emily pulled out a key and opened the front door, letting the travelers in. "Hey Trish, i'm home...also have a guest or two." Trish came down in her usual red dress and attire. "You and all these guests hun...ah well, guess we have the guest rooms for a reason." Trish took them all to a large sitting room with a fireplace and many paintings "C'mon now, no need to be strangers. I'll get the servants to bring in water and food, i'm sure you're all famished and tired."

Alistar was a bit thrown off by the modern tune. All he ever got were scattered bits and pieces. How'd she know that kind of thing? Right, time powers... "I've never heard that tune before," he said as he continued to shuffle his tarot cards.

Ariana flew to the table and landed, taking her sword from her hip and hanging it on a potted flower. She jumped up and sat down on the edge of the pot. "I could use some water."

"I've only heard it once..." Aurora said. "Though I haven't been able to remake it. We don't have the right instruments yet. The ones we have just make it sound... Sad."

As Tharsus neared the castle, Aurora and Alistar a good ways behind him, several guards stepped into the path to Bloch his way, hands on their swords. Behind them, two other guards leveled their crossbows at him. "Halt! State your business."
