Author Topic: Made a collar bracelet, perfect for when you cant wear your collar. (Read 7797 times)

This may be the perfect solution for those who can't wear an actual collar a lot of the time (due to parents, work, school ect)

I had some time off work today so I decided to go do some collar shopping. I was looking for the smallest one i could find, I had origianlly considered getting a cat collar, but my fursona is a dog and I could not find one I liked. They were all nylon or a crazy color, and this was supposed to be discreet.

Eventually though i found a small 14in dog collar made from brown leather (with nice white stitching), i chose it because it was very narrow (see pictures) it had a nice patter and i could get a larger collar to match (and i did lol)

Next i had to modify it to fit my wrist, i've always been really thin so modifying a bracelet or belt to fit is noting new to me. I Just took a dremel and made a few small holes until i was happy with the fitment.One piece of advice if you do this is to drill the hole from the back until there is a very thin layer of material left, then take some sort of poker and make the hole from the exposed side. Then take the dremel and clean it up a bit, this will give you a finished look to the holes. Finally took some 120 grit sand paper and sanded down the back and the part that i had cut off to make it a bit smoother and look more natural.

Here is the finished product! (please not my dachshund slider in the background lol) sorry the pictures are kinda huge, if anyone know how to resize them feel free.

I will be more than happy to make a more detailed DIY with more pictures as i will be making a black one soon, so it will match my black collar that i ordered from the collar factory!

That's awsome, especially since you have a matching neck collar. While perusing an interesting catalogue (The Pyramid Collecion), I came across an product equally cool to yours.

Multi-purpose

It adds a dual-purpose to the object in case you traverse lands in which collars are not allowed.

This is a clever idea! It's very good compromise between wanting to show your furriness & avoiding the ire of the anti-collar set.

Well i have been wearing the matching collar/bracelet set round and it seem like everyone still knows what the bracelet part it (even when i'm not wearing the collar) So i guess its not as discreet as i was going for. But I don't really care. My father saw me wearing the collar the other night and didn't seem to care, just thinks I have a thing with dog collar now. And i guess that is kinda true.

That said i was out last night bowling, there were maybe 100-150 other people there and it was a blast! But there was guy sitting behind our lane that kept making fun of the collar (unknown to me) and one of the other guys in our group (a non fur who i had never met before) told the guy off. It was awesome! Never thought people around here could be so accepting. I don't think he knows i'm a furry or anything, just some dude that goes around in a collar.

That's not a bad idea... but my parents would throw a fit. My dad believes that men shouldn't wear bracelets of any kind, besides a watch, and my mom is a little obsessed with appearances. I do have a collar, a nice red one, but I don't wear it around my parents or around some of my other relatives. A collar bracelet was an excellent idea, and the thingy that Wolvenblaze posted is pretty awesome.

Still looking for pics (school web site has no pics at all), but we do sing the mario theme to annoy him. He moves between like three different class rooms throughout the day, and he pushes around a cart full of his books and such. We call it his mario kart, and we want to mariofy it for a senior prank. It's hilarious!
