Just wondering if any Furtopians are planning to go. A dear friend has asked me to go with him and a couple other furs to it. Im really excited about it as it will be my very 1st con. Hopefully Mother nature will be kind with her hurricanes this year and Ill for sure be there.
I am planning to atleast have a partial fursuit. I always told myself Id make one if I got to go to a con. YAY!!

Hey Savaaha, I have been talking to a coupla furiends and have made tentative plans to attend. I would imagine we can lure a couple more to join in the festivities..... *pulls out a shiney*

Memphis in September '05 or bust!

I'll definately be going, as I live about 2 hours or so from there.
I'll even be dragging along a non-fur, but definately interested, friend, and hopefully my mate. Should be fun, hope to see some of you all there.

Yup yup, need to set up some kind of wormhole to suck furtopians to Memphis. This will 99.9% for sure be my only con to go to this year.

I live just on the Memphis side of Nashville, and am hoping to be able to go to MFM this year. I know two other furs from Nashville who went last year and loved it and so my husband and I are keeping our fingers crossed to make MFM our first con.

Umm its been a while since I last talked to Skunkfox about it, I think he was considering it. I'd ask him but hes not on aim at the moment. If this new job of his goes well he might have the means to be there.
I know me and IT hope to, Leonato and Journye are planning to and Tygon I think is hoping to. Thats all of my friends that I've really talked to about it. Depending on money we may go and stay in the back of my van! but if we can get the basics we'll try to be there. lol

Ill be rooming with atleast 2 other furs, tho not sure where. He says we will go up that thursday and stay til monday.

I heard that it can cost $400. a peice to go to MFM and most of that is for the motel room. I dunno if that so or not, I have no clue how much a motel room is for the weekend. Thats part of the reason why were thinking the van may be needed if the room is to expensive.

I just read on Tygon's site on PF that he just got a new job and should have the money to come over to America for MFM this year.

Thats what I heard from someone who went last year. It may have been $400. for the two of them... Anyone here ever been before and know how much it cost them? Cuz I've looked at the site before and it was like less than a hundred dollars for the con ( I think) so how much does it really cost for those who've gone before?

It cost's $89 a night, I do hope he'll beable too make it, I meet him last year...

Sinsce it's close -only 6 hours this time- I'm highly thinking of attending. Tho I will say my decisions do tend to get influenced by the number of Furtopians attending

I'd like me and Kada to go. There is a very possible chance we may go. A old fur friend has invited us to stay in his room.

On a sad note it looks like we won't make it to AC this year (first time for me in like 6 years). Some expenses have come up and I really can't justify the room cost when we're catching up on bills from Morphicon.

This is really starting to look quite interesting. I will throw in my 2 cents, one for each con I have attended. Getting in on Thursday night and leaving Monday morning adds so much to the experience. I reccomend it to anyone that can afford the extra nights. It does have a big impact on the overall cost of the con though.

Okay there are 3 major conceerns at a con. Shelter, food and fun.

Shelter
You can easily have 4 people to a room with 2 double beds. That will cut the price of a room dramatically. For a $89 a day room, figure about $100 (gotta add taxes) Still that is $25 per person per night. If you only stay Fri and Sat nights that is only $50.

Food
Many cons put on free food events and or have free food/snacks in a hospitality suite. I know MFM has a pizza party and an ice cream social so that is 2 meals you do not have to pay for. You can bring Pop Tarts or similar low cost ready to eat foods.

Fun
It will cost $35 for a basic registration, $40 at the door. Other than that you will want to buy some little things from the dealers and artists but that is not required.

Well, I seem to have made a slight error in my travel time. From my house to Bristol Tenn is only 5 hours, but it's another 12 hours from there to Memphis ':shock:'

It's 800 miles each way Ack! I might have to make other arrangements on this one- "Hello, Delta?"

Theres always the option of a lay-over. Like drive to Nashville stay with me and my husband then continue. Or the same idea if theres anyone between you and Nash I'm sure fellow furs would gladly offer you an extra bed or couch...

I toke the bus, when I went last year and I'll take it again this year too...
