I don't like the bland taste of white rice, even with soy sauce, salt and butter.
So I added a chicken bullion cube, paprika, taco seasoning, and a garlic and herb powder mix, and boiled it for 20 mins.
I might add some meat n vegetables next time.
Maybe beef bullion with ground beef added? Essentially the broth became thick, like a sauce.

I'm much more plain in my rice tastes, just butter is good enough for me.

That sounds good... I definitely think the right vegetables can bring a rice dish to life. I also like a little scrambled egg in rice, even if I'm not doing a whole stir-fry rice thing.
I used to not like rice at all when I was a kid. As an adult I'm discovering what can make for good rice. I'm not a big fan of soy sauce, but... I do like teriyaki. And I like a good spanish rice, but not so much on its own, I do feel like rice likes to have a protein on the side. Beans or meat, even just a little bit.

Rice by itself is OK. I cook jasmine rice and use a plastic rice cooker I can put in the microwave. Rice is meant to have something added to it to make a meal--chicken tikka masala, sweet & sour chicken, or some kind of meat dish.
